Yes I butter tops of my breads!! I keep butter wrappers in a ziploc in frig door so I always can grab one up and butter a loaf of bread before wrapper goes in trash.
Such great meals Julie. So savory. I could almost smell them. I Ty for sharing with us. Joe is certainly a great helper in the kitchen. I love your videos. Please keep sharing.
I love making bread, and yes I butter the tops. The one I can’t do is sourdough. I want daily videos of ok today is day 1 or 2 or whatever and here is what we will do today. I finally! Found someone that shows you thankfully, so I’ll be trying it
Yes! I am also a visual learner! I need a map to know where it's all going and what I'm supposed to be doing along the way. Thank you for sharing! Have a blessed week! ❤️
Your bread looked amazing! It got so big! I've been making homemade bread consistently since beginning of August. I haven't bought a loaf from the store since. I canned some more of the roast that I had in the freezer last week. We like Italian beef. I thought instead of taking one of the roasts and cooking it all day while at work in the crockpot, I opened up a couple jars of my previous canned roast, added the seasoning and warmed it through in my cast iron skillet. It was just as delicious. After that I knew, I didn't need to save it in my freezer for later, so I just canned it up! I made some granola for the first time awhile back. I'll be making some more this week. I sometimes eat it as cereal, or I will put some blueberries in a bowl with some of my homemade yogurt and top it with the granola. Just yesterday I took my leftover ham bone and the remaining ham and main a ham and bean soup. I went to cosmetology school, but I don't do anything with it anymore...except I do cut my husband's hair all the time. He is NOT coming near mine though. lol
🤣😂🤣😂 I have laughed and laughed over this! Fortunately for me, he only needs to trim the ends. Getting it all perfectly even is a requirement I have learned to let go. 😉 Yay for you on the bread making! There is just no comparison! I love the idea of canning your roast. Easy and much more convenient! Many blessings to you and yours, my friend! 🥰
I’ve not watched your videos very long… I’m a tad confused. Do you have 2 kitchens? The one last week was more bare, and you mentioned a couple of times needing to go upstairs to get something. 🙂
Yes. We have our main kitchen, which is what you are seeing in today's video, and we also have a summer kitchen in our basement. Our summer kitchen is a bit bare, as it is not fully finished, and it reflects more of a farmhouse style. I love having the convenience of both! ❤️
In this video, I just winged it. My usual recipe is.... 4 cups warm water 1 1/2 Tbsp yeast 1/4 cup softened butter 1/4 cup honey 1 tsp salt 10-11 cups flour If you want brown bread, swap the honey out for 1/3 cup of molasses. *yields 3 loaves I also use this recipe to make my hamburger buns. Have a great week!
I love your videos! The music, the food, the ambiance. So calming and beautiful, delicious food. Thank you Julie and Joe! What do you use the large pot to the right of the wood stove for? ❤️🙏🏻Val C
Thank you! Your kind words mean a lot to us! Are you referring to the large pot that is sitting on the floor? That is our pressure canner. I keep it close when it is being used often.
your canned beef said Jan 23! I realized because I did the same today to my home canned items! Make sure you change that to 2024 or you may think it is old!
Your remark about wast not want not was a favorite expresion of my grandmothers. I still use it now and again.
Yes! I think it's one of those lost sayings. I'm so glad you picked it up! More people should know that saying today. 😊

What is the name of the piano music?
I will look it up for you.
It's called Falling Snow. I get my music from the youtube music library. Have a blessed day!
I searched you tube and you tube music for falling snow and I can’t find it. I guess I’m fumbling. It’s a very nice piece of music. Thank you!
I'm sorry you weren't able to find it. It really is a beautiful piece. It's one of my favorites!

Oh, my goodness! You're right! Lol! Thank you for catching that for me!
