Saw his 1 hour time lapse vid and was hooked! Btw, love your vids, Jerra! I can’t thank you enough as you’re a huge inspiration and an amazing builder!😊
The issue with the Emerald Night is the drivers, I think. If you look at Disney Train you can see that they do a different approach with the drivers to avoid friction causing the wheels to lock up.
According to the instructions for the Emerald Night you need to put one of the three drive wheels at a different rotation. One of them needs to be in the 3 o'clock position while the others go in the 12 o'clock position. This might work, haven't tried it myself yet. (Mine was locking up as well)
Perhaps an idea for the subway would be to connect it directly to the end of the current station? I've seen plenty of bigger city stations that have both an interior and exterior platform (mainly due to the amount of trains running through and inability to build on top of the city above) and its not unusual to see shops and vendors on the interior parts of the platform building but with a long stretch of it leading out into the daylight for trains that are over 4 carriages in length. It would also help you get around the idea of having 2 stations so close to each other in the build, you could even add a large station hub above with faux effects of it linking to the platform below.
This is one of the best lego projects ive seen in a long time, have been watching the entire series since i first discovered it some months ago. Gives off a lot of classic lego vibes to me, with how there are multiple different themes in it. Any updates on the moon/space area?
The moon base videos are always expansive, so he always waits some time to do them. Or has a sponsor. When this channel grows, he will get more money and therefore can also more easily do these videos
@@Hendricus56 actually he has a pretty large german channel witch helps him alot in affording these citys. If you want to see more, he has linked is german Channel with all the updates of the old city.
You deserve more recognition. Also for the money laundering part of the harbor I think it would be cool to add signs like the construction signs or tape or something that would keep the public away and make sense to the story. Maybe make it part of the loading and unloading of the cargo of the harbor?
I really wish LEGO would give more love to their trains. I remember as a kid, they had a series of custom steamers called "My Own Train", and a whole bunch of settings and buildings to go with them. And of course, the Super Chief!
For a moment I thought you were going to make the room in between into a giant underground metro station, but I like the one you showed. Really awesome build, I only started following a few months ago and it just keeps looking better and better!
I would always fantasize about having a city like this when I was little, this project is fantastic and the passion you show is incredible, can't wait to see what it looks like a year from now
When it came to the problem with insane train car window prices, I ended up using a mixture of: Window 1 x 2 x 3 Flat Front (60593) and Window 1 x 2 x 2 Flat Front (60592) but horizontally on their side. It works well for achieving certain styles of train cars.
Would be amazing for your museum to have a less than 9 volt camera hooked up to a train and stream the image on a tv. You could build the backs of the scenery with little secrets, only to be seen on the tv.
It's just a thought and I could well be wrong, but possibly if the walls in your in-between room are painted an off-white rather than true white, there might be a yellowish hue to the walls causing the light to reflect off them and turn yellow, especially if the lightbulbs are kind of dark and causing shadows to appear on the walls. You might be able to fix the yellow room look by getting brighter and/or bluer lightbulbs for the space.
I’m liking the progress you’ve made so far and the brown Lego Crocodile train is really awesome! But in my heart I know the steam trains 🚂 will always be my favorite.
I love how you used duplo blocks in the old city as support beams haha. Another great update. Honestly the best looking Lego city out there. Super excited to see what you do with the harbor and your moon base
I had a few things you could do in your Lego city (maybe you already have them): a dentist, a paperpress, a (disco)club, a school, a kindergarten, a few stores, a gamehall, a fabric, and maybe some other things.
if there's one thing I want to see, it's to see you patch up those open sections of the walls lol. Not really lego related of course, but it always sticks out to me whenever you show the train's point of view.
@@SirCavas Well, everything improves over time. He began in 2018 after all and I would guess, as a hobby. Not everyone has an extremely good camera lying around
Your steamlocomotive looks so more authentic than the Emerald Night or the new Orient Express - as beautiful as they are, yours has that real steam engine feel.
Excellent! I don’t have the sound on at the moment because my girlfriend is watching tv in the same room, but I just have to give a small word of advice. If you haven’t clarified why yet, the coal and water cars for your steam engines are on backwards. The coal’s supposed to be closest to the engine’s controls so the fireman, or stoker, can shovel it into the firebox. The water’s simply piped into the boiler through the frames underneath. If it’s a stylistic choice, then you do you.
Sorry this may have been asked before but can you motorize the trains directly with lipo battery packs with Radio Control recievers and speed controllers built in rather than rely on the track being electrified? You can run many trains on the same track without any issues. Also how are you able to pay for all this being so young?
Very amazing build! With the emerald night, what causes it to freeze up is the rod isn’t long enough so when the wheel does a full rotation. The rod gets kinda caught up in the piece up front. You need to add another support piece behind the first one.
0:48 probably color temperature, as the camera adjusts to the blue-ish light of the "main" rooms and then it goes into the between-room without adjusting the white balance. If it really bothers you you can put the same kind of light in all rooms and you won't have this problem, or you can set your camera's white-balance manually (but that will lead to the "main" rooms being blue-ish tinted).
Really amazing build!! My only suggestion would be running the trains slower if possible, gives it a more realistic track speed to scale. However, it is your railway, your rules!
there are DCC options now for Lego Trains, using the 9v powered rail. Also, to solve the window issue, get a 3d printer. You can print bricks, parts and so on and yes it is legal to do so, Lego doesn't have a right to the brick itself just how its assembled (aka the set not the individual bricks).
This train layout is goals! Beautifully done mate. Btw, why are your tenders facing the wrong way? Also for the emerald night you should tinker with the drive gears. Sometimes it is on too tight..
Great! I recommended an underground station months ago in that exact place you showed. Super excited to hear you have got a metro station to fit into place. Awesome! Will stay tuned 😃
The level of detail on this city is absurd. You have some serious talent! Question: with the inclusion of the sanctorum and daily bugle being official lego Modulars now, is there a possibility you’d ever do a marvel section of your city? I think it would look so cool!
As a Minecraft RUclipsr I can officially say you have made me obsessed with Lego, already making BrickLink orders 😂

Yes! It’s called “quartering the drivers” 🙂
That’s standard on any and *every steam locomotive ever built,* a good way to remember this is; “the left proceeds the right by 1/4 turn.”

That metro station is simply stunning! I’d love to see it on the current layout.
it is very cool to see the city at a Minifigures point of view. the city is looking great as always!
Cool to see your old city! It was pretty good, but your current city is next level!
Look at Bob Brinkmann on RUclips thats his city

Great video man, the city get better and better
adding thin rubber rings on wheels helped with my HO trains on slopes when I was a kid...

I freaking love everything about your city! This is my dream. Can't wait for next weeks post!
Thanks so much for this video!!! I love seeing your city from these FPV videos.

Congrats on all your success! This train pov shows way more than the last!

I loved that metro station. One of the best layouts I've ever seen.
Incredible to see your old city, and how your building skills have grown!
good thing you chose the crocodile locomotive, considering how it was used in the alps back then and now it fits perfectly into your lego city
Amazing video but as a train lover it is a bit pain to see the tenders of the steamers being backwards in some of the footage XD
anyway keep it up!
Wow! The metro station is amazing! 😮
That metro station is fantastic! Definitely find a home for it.
Wow your Lego setup is stunning!!! Absolutley beautiful!!!

Literally made a hole in the wall for his lego world.
Now that is dedication
We NEED lego stopmotion films from this guy
a metro station underneath the raised table would be very cool
Maybe you could add an Abandoned metro station separate from the main one and there’s an abandoned train left there.
so cool!
I didn't even know (after over 150 episodes) that Bob runs a second channel in English and speaks almost perfect English. 😅

This the best and the coziest solo made lego world that ive ever seen
Wow😍 thats a big Lego town
I like those train🚂 and builings
you are so creative🤩
Holy moly, this was such a fantastic video. Love Lego and love trains, and basically you just made me very happy watching this. Thank you!
I think your one of the fastest growing Lego channel on RUclips, you started posting just months ago.
Keep going man, I’m loving it
Thank you 😊

also try pulling apart or pushing the wheels together on the train that may be the problem
seeing the old city was pretty neat!
Ahhh, always nice seeing the old layout. Makes you feel nostalgic (he has a German channel where he showed it originally)
camera quality was bad back then

If you were to ever make a passenger train you could use airplane windows which look pretty nice
An idea for your mountain… maybe a little helicopter/plane flying by the peak?
2 years ago! This is still so awesome!
a metro station would be the perfect adition to your city! i would love to see it!
