These powerful waves were recorded in Portland, Maine, one foggy afternoon. The swirling green salt water is so mesmerizing, I wish every viewer could join me for an hour of relaxation.

So much power in the water, this video makes me think of the men and women who make there living sailing wooded boat up and down these costs moving cargo or fishing. So much skill and vigilance would have been required.

Ok folks im from Maine grew up on a lighthouse on Vinalhaven, Maine and when people ask what the way of life is uuhhh here ya go..

After reading your comment I looked up Vinalhaven. The page I read says the town manager now lives in the lighthouse but the grounds are open to the public. It is 2.5 hours away from me, but it sounds like a beautiful place to visit!

owns the house but Light is maintained by Coast Guard..

Thank you for caring enough to collect field recordings of natural sounds. Many channels churn out AI generated sounds and count on people not knowing the difference. The artificial world is what I long to escape. You deserve a lot more views.

I served in the coast guard in Maine. South Portland, Maine.
I know a lot of the coast looks alike, but where this is filmed, I do recognize. It kinda weird for me...
I miss a lot of my costal stations. East and west coast alike. I served on many different bases. Maine is my number one place.
I now live, landlocked. Unfortunately.....won't be forever, I'll eventually get back to my beloved sea life. Work/life took me inland forwhile....😢
I miss you, home!!! Aka: OCEAN! SALT LIFE FOREVER!!!!!!!!
I listen to the open sounds almost every night.
Seagulls and all.
Yeah....I actually miss the sounds of those stupid sea pidgions.
I miss Maine loones, crickets, and the frogs of the lakes and swampy areas.
The smell of pine, spruce, maple leaves rotting in the fall along with the smell of the sea.....(even low tide)
It's the only place on earth with those smells.
Some would say fresh cut grass is the best smell or something else....
Those people have never smelled Maine in its seasons on the coast. The smells of the main coast of the forests are unmatched.
….don’t forget the foghorns and bell buoys!
