      Yeah its an absolute must out to 50. And has come in plenty handy at 94. Its got a few holes in it tho, cause occasionally I shoot at it for funzies. Got a nice little 3 shot group goin on it near its end. Hahaha. Have a good one homie!

    You're the man putting these up dude. Just ordered me some fx hybrids myself, gonna play with the hammer spring see what kind of numbers I can get out of it.

    • @renterp
      @renterp  Месяц назад

      Hell yeah homie! They really are worth a try, and honestly there was plenty of adjustment left with the hammer spring. I also just picked up some NSA 17.5 grain .216 diameter slugs. At that weight I should see 725-750 fps and if they are accurate, they may very well be the slug to sling out of the Notos. Be a while before I get to test them, but stay tuned and you’ll get a chance to see the result. I also just got a load of different high quality pellets to try out as well. Gonna be a lead slingin summer! Thanks again and have a great week!

      Great info man I'll order some of those soon as well, trying to maximize this carbine and 17.5 gr sounds about ideal. Should have great energy at distance for the platform compared to a diabolo around that 700-750 fps mark. Staying tuned for sure! Have a great one!

      @@iPodHelpTube awesome. Also, I haven’t decided if I wanted to make a video on it. Because I dont really know what Im talking about. Im not really certified in pcp’s. I am however a certified plumber in the military. Well, was a plumber, but still certified. Anyway I noticed while taking the Buck Rail stock adapter off of the gun that after I removed the two screws holding the adapter on. The stock was stuck on something and I couldn’t remove it. In the last 2,000 maybe 3,000 rounds since I put the Buck rail stock on, the hammer spring screw had backed itself out a full turn, maybe two. The factory notos stock is built partially blocking that hammer spring. Preventing that screw from backing out. IF you plan on turning In your hammer spring screw. I recommend removing it, and adding a layer, maybe two of Teflon tape. Maybe the added friction will prevent the screw from backing itself out. But it certainly can, and will move. When that happens the hammer rotates with it. If there is a bur on your hammer, it will get super grindy when “racking the lever”. I suspect that is what happened to my first notos, and my second. The second one I was able to take apart and hone the hammer. Between that and cleaning out the hammer housing, then reassembling with plenty of graphite power on the mating surfaces, the lever is butter smooth. I had to add a clear plastic square washer with a hole punched in the center (that i could fit a screw driver through to twist the screw and adjust the hammer spring) that I cut from a piece of packaging. With that between the Buckrail stock, and the Notos frame, it prevents the screw from backing out into the Buck rail stock. If you are using a factory stock, disregard all of this. I can copy and paste this tho and pin it so other can see it as well. :) sorry for the word vomit, but it is what I noticed, and how I “solved” the issue, while filming the video yesterday. Maybe its worth something, maybe not. Have a great day!!

    I have not modified my Notos yet and still shoot just the CHPs pellets 14.3 grain from wally world. Surprised they get sent @ 745 FPS and MOA at 50 yards. Maybe I'll try some of my 17.5 grain NSA slugs just for shits and giggles. The gun shooting just cheap pellets has taken 8 crows so far and lost count of starlings it has taken out to 60 yards which I am at the limit IMO for 18 FPE. I never thought of trying slugs but I will run a mag or 2 thru the gun and see. Thanks for the video and the idea. Stay blessed.

      Hell yeah homie. Honestly the Notos shoots the inexpensive ammo damn near as good as the expensive stuff. It is a perfect plinker and absolute beast of a pester. I just ordered some 17.5g NSA slugs. .216 if i remember correct. Im curious how they perform so If you do give em a try, feel free to let me know how they do. More data for the community! Thanks again and have a great week bud!

    I’m surprised the slugs did as well as they did. I’m actually a little jealous. I tried putting fx hybrid slugs through my Dreamline Compact in 25 cal, getting about 840 fps. The groups were awful. It will do hole in hole at 50 with the right pellets, but it hated the slugs. Now I’m thinking I spent way too much for a compact if you can get respectable groups with that 20 fpe pea shooter.
    Cheers 🍻

      I could not agree more. I didnt originally try slugs out of the Notos because it seemed silly. My Armada wouldnt shoot them straight to save my life. Imagine my surprise when they were drillin at 30. But yeah, very respectable groups at 50 with the slugs. Likely never shoot them, but great to know I could. Thanks and have a great weekend!

      I was thinking the same thing. I might have been able to squeeze 650 with the Hybrids but the bolt was not happy being under that much spring tension. There is no sense abusing the equipment to do something it was never meant to do. But I see no harm in pushing it to the limit of acceptable. For science. Hahaha have a good one homie!

    Sweet shooting! Surprising how there was not a lot of difference in the groups considering the gusty winds and the different weights. Your Notos has a wicked accurate 11" barrel. keep looking for a slug that is more accurate. Pin point mouse shooting at 94 yards is the target? LOL

    • @renterp
      @renterp  Месяц назад

      Yeah I saw that! I have tried the NSA 17.5 gr .216 slugs. Sadly they were the first ammo that did poorly out of the Notos. Ill have to pick some up and give them a try. But honestly its gonna be tough to beat the 15.89 hades. They really perform quite well out of the Notos. Thanks for the info, and have a fantastic day!

      @@bluewater454 sadly, the NSA’s I tried did not do well at all. It was like a 1 foot group at 30 sadly. But the larger head diameter ones that Ted tested likely work better as the tighter the slug, the better it performed (out of the slugs i tried). Have a fantastic Fourth of July!

  • @Martin100k
    @Martin100k 9 дней назад +1

    If your goal is to test for accuracy and precision, (and that should be the case according the title of your vid) why not support the gun on the rear as well? This rules out the variables of the shooter (like your heart rate as can be clearly seen on the footage) much more and the results will be more objective as to what the gun likes or not. Of course you can say; -“I test for real life conditions!” But unless you’re a Ted or Matt or Gerhard, (to name a few airgun marksmen out there) it really only shows the limitations of the shooter and not the used pellet/slug…

    • @renterp
      @renterp  9 дней назад +1

      Great question. I think it is just as important to show real life applications and usage of the ammo that I test. Not everyone has bags and rests and such. Also most people dont shoot the Notos as a bench rest rifle. The accuracy at 50 yards that I display is more of what any shooter with a Notos and a bipod could expect to get out of the ammo, in a hunting/ pesting scenario. By comparing it to pellets (that are arguably more accurate than slugs out of the Notos) under the same conditions that I hunt/pest in. I feel it is doing a fine enough job portraying the accuracy you could expect under similar conditions. The same conditions that 90% of people shooting the Notos would find themselves in. More of a hunting/ plinking scenario. Valid question and points tho. Its very likely the slugs would perform better under more supported shooting positions. Thanks for watching and the fantastic question. Have a great rest of the week.
