Hey there, I’m Kevin and this is my review of the Obo fat boy goalkeepers hockey stick
It’s worth mentioning that I don’t have a direct association with Obo but a big thanks to Dave at D Sharp Hockey for always taking care of me.
This is the fat boy I’ve been using for the last 6 months or so so you can that it has started to gain some patina.
It’s way chunkier than the sticks I usually play with and the first thing I notice is the weight.
It feels a little too heavy but that pays itself back by being really stable.
The construction is super durable, as you can see I’m a post whacker so the high quality materials really do help stand up against the rigors of competitive play.
The Fat Boy can unleash some power to shots and saves. It has excellent control which is obviously great for deflecting or pushing a ball.
From the strongest shots on goal to sweeping clearances, the ample face and side of the stick provide enough surface area for a safe connection.
For its size it is more forgiving than I expected but I’m unsure if it’s the best stick for a beginner or a keeper is isn’t confidant with their stick work.
As with most premium products, the quality comes with a price and the premium versions of the Fat Boy can be expensive.
I’ve been using the Cloud version and am pretty darn happy with it to be honest.
The Obo Fat Boy Goalkeeper's Stick is an excellent choice for elite goalkeepers who are looking for superior control and power. If that’s you - this stick could help take you to another level. .
