All the greats sat around where I sat looking on and helping Prajapati Gautami attaining Parinirvana. The spot is lovely and serene on the banks of the Ganges. Wow. The Buddha watched on, Sariputra and Mogallana watched on, Kassapa, Bhaddaji and the other disciples watched on, Visakha and Amrapali watched on, Theri Uppalavana watched on and helped Prajapati Gautami to have her last bath. The five hundred nuns were sitting around meditating. It took time. I was on that spot imagining that scene through my monkey mind as I tried to meditate. Namo Buddhay. Namaste.
I felt so sad last night when I received the email Thay had passed. When I listened to Thay talking the sadness disappeared. How lucky we are to listen to his calming voice teaching, to pick up one of his books to read. He lives on in us.
I met this great teacher, spiritual guide and inspiration right after I was discharged in 1968 after serving in SE Asia during the Vietnam War. His spirit helped then and continues to this day…he continues to live, love, inspire and teach and will for generations to come. 🙏

What false teachings that will send you directly to the gates of everlasting hell. Isaiah 43 10 God says before Me, there was no God nor will there be any God after Me. God is the creator and He told us Behold, this is My Son, listen to Him! Jesus said no one, not a single soul, goes to God but by Me. When Jesus died and rose from the dead He said I Am the Way the Truth and the Life. This man is teaching a doctrine that does not teach that Jesus died in the sins of the world and rose from the dead. His teachings are of himself and not of God. What did Jesus say of God His Father? Jesus said not one word that I speak comes from Me, but from the very mouth of God. Jesus is the very Word of God Jesus got his teachings from no other but God Himself. I pray you all turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and repent for following the teachings of buddha. Jesus Christ is Lord accept Him and His sacrifice and serve the True Everlasting God who saved us from hell.

Thank you for sharing. I found Thay as I was severely depressed, grieving the deterioration of my Grandfather into his Vascular Dementia & Alezheimers. Thay's teachings about finding someone in the clouds, the rain, the tea, were fundamental in my accepting who my Grandfather is now, loving him as he is now & staying with him in the present moment. I cried a little over the loss of Thay over lunch, but I know I will find him in the clouds, in the rain, and in my tea. Tonight I had a Skype call with my Grandad and my heart is full. Thank you to the hard work of Plum Village for continuing to share Thay's wisdom as they grieve themselves.

today before I realized our teacher has passed, I looked at a calligraphy in front of my textbook. It says: "Breathe and bring peace to your body". I had printed it out to remind myself to take care of me, that was before I even knew about Thich Nhat Han. He himself had drawn it. His continuations are everywhere. Let's "breathe and bring peace to our bodies" in order to get in touch with his continuation, and in order to find peace and happiness together.
dear Thay.. i missed you, if you would not be there for us all the time. As to the paper, I say- Hello teacher, I appreciate your life and your continuation. As a sangha we carry you inside our hearts, our minds and our lungs when we breathe. You have connected us and continue to do so, you are a true bodhisattva and it makes me happy to know that you continue to be among and within us. It makes me happy that you had such a rich life full of blessings, also the painful hardships you went through made you and your community grow. now we remember your long meaningful life, full of time spent mindfully, in service and in community, and we make it continue by breathing mindfully together.
