good video. im stopping by big fish outfitters on the way in and buying some live shad 9 to 12 inches and maybe some skipjack. I will buy you 4 if you want to pick them up. i appreciate the educational videos and taking the time to answer my questions.
I was wondering if you ever go out and do some crappie fishing ? I know growing up my dad and his friends were 98% of the time only fishing for crappie so that's all I did really until I was old enough to drive..lol I love catfishing I'm a lazy fisherman too then I suppose...lol but crappie is really my favorite fish to eat. And given a few bags of crappie to an old farmer has gotten me permission to hunt on a lot of land through the years lol
I do go crappie fishing sometimes. Mostly in the spring time when they are really easy to catch. I have some crappie videos on my channel from last year.
@@KayakCatfish oh yeah that's right I kind of remember watching that one of them actually.. I will go a lot in the fall and winter and spring to got a couple real get spots for when the spring spawn hits we can catch our limit everyday on Lake Keystone up here during that time it's good fun that's for sure well my birthday is this month and I'm still hoping my girlfriend is getting me that kayak LOL and they're on sale to down here can't wait as always good luck and good fishing and have a good day sir
That's one part of Flathead'n that I haven't ever had a problem with is gettin bait... Part of fishin for Flatty's is ya spend more time catchin bait than u do fishin.. Haha It's nuts but it's fun
Your a modest man and that's a lacking quality now days but you definitely gotta gift of entertaining and teaching. Thanks for the videos and the guidance. I'm really looking forward to trying your techniques on our lake.
Just something about using white bass for bait bothers me. It was always a big deal when the white bass started running in the spring. For those of us without boats it was a great time to fish off the bank, and such good eating!!
Another great video, thank you again for taking the time and effort to produce these videos. You are continually teaching me ideas and new methods to catch fish. Keep doing what you are doing and I am too a lazy fisherman! Thumbs up to us!
I have a question on how/why dictates what kind of bait you will use on a particular outing? Sometimes it's white bass, shad or bluegills. Is it all trial an error when you get settled in as to what the catfish are hitting? or?
I generally use whatever bait is the easiest to obtain at the time I need it. In a perfect world, I would use skipjack from spring to fall and gizzard shad in the winter. I just don’t want to put in the effort needed to get them all the time.
Good video, I never realized you had a Torqeedo trolling motor. I have just put one on my Native Titan 13.5. Love it. What battery do you have with the Torqeedo?
Its great to see how you catch your bait fish too Just for a bit of a change. I know you wasnt pleased with your catch but at least it's enough for one day out. Well done & take care.🎣😎🇬🇧
Great video! I see that you have done some videos on the nucanoe frontier 12, I could not find any with your opinions on it, did you like it? Like I said me being a bigger guy it seems to be pretty stable from what I have read, it looks like it should be good for catfishing. What are your thoughts on it? I have heard good and bad, thanks for the recommendations in advance! Keep it up!
I had a Nucanoe Pursuit briefly. The quality left a lot to be desired. As the old saying goes, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all lol. That’s why I never made an official review video.
Love your videos been supporting you for two years your welcome to join my group on Facebook the fishing lodge an post your videos would love to have you as a member can't wait to see your next big cat
Thanks for the long time support! I appreciate your invite to the Facebook group but I try to keep Facebook group activity to a minimum. Too much drama on Facebook.
I enjoy the bait catching videos as much if not more as your cat fishing videos ..thank you
Thanks Cody!
Well at least you caught some. I would hate to see you have to resort to worms or dip bait. At least you had fun. nice video.
Thanks Chris!
Wow that looks fun thx for the videos
Thanks Michael!

Thank you for the offer Charles! I appreciate the gesture but I would rather you buy some extra for yourself. Good luck! Hope you catch some big ones.
Great video, I don’t think you’re a lazy fisherman. More like a smart fisherman 👍. Have a safe and Happy 4th of July Holiday Justin 👍🎉🇺🇸🎣😎
Thanks Michael!
You’re Welcome Justin 👍

I spend about as much time getting bait as I do actually catfishing.
Man i need to get out and do some cat fishing but i live in Lake Havasu Arizona been hot 112 plus cant wait for it to cool off soon
That is some intense heat. Hope it cools down for you soon.
I’m still learning. I was wondering if the “spawn” means anything in a pond. A large pond. Can catfish reproduce in a pond?
I’m not sure if they can or not.
You always reply. Thanks for that.
How long can you troll with that motor? Thats pretty cool
Run time varies greatly depending how fast I troll I never run out of juice though.
Your a modest man and that's a lacking quality now days but you definitely gotta gift of entertaining and teaching. Thanks for the videos and the guidance. I'm really looking forward to trying your techniques on our lake.
Thank you! I hope the techniques work well for you.
Just something about using white bass for bait bothers me. It was always a big deal when the white bass started running in the spring. For those of us without boats it was a great time to fish off the bank, and such good eating!!
Whether you kill them to eat or kill them for bait, they die either way. Our water here is contaminated so anyone who chooses to eat them is a fool.
I hear ya, and I understand. It is just funny how different parts of the country views species of fish.
You ever use store bought bait?
I will occasionally use chicken breast if I am just going after small fish on light tackle but that is the only time I use store bought.
Hey love this chanel it don't matter if you're catching cats or bait I love to watch it...keep up the great or out there Justin
Thanks Travis!
Dang man. Didn't know you had a link to the spoons. I just ordered some last week.
That looks like a fun way to catch bait.
It’s definitely a lot more fun than slinging a cast net.
Great video. Catching bait for fishing was as exciting as the actual fishing when I was young. But even now it's still an enjoyable chore.
Thanks Danny! I enjoy trolling for bait but I despise throwing the cast net for shad and making 8 million casts for skipjack lol
Love your channel! One of my favorites!
Thanks Jeremy!
I have never tried that type of trolling for bait. I'll be giving that a try.
Good luck! Hope it works out for you.
Finally a bait video !!!!
I have a few on here.
At least you didn’t get skunked. The last two times I’ve been out, I didn’t even get a bite.
I have had some skunk trips lately too. Looking forward to the catfish bite picking up again.
just as much fun as catching cats!
It’s a blast when multiple rods go down as you troll through a big school.
Great video as always
Thank you!
Good video sir. Looks like alot of fun. Thanks again
Thanks Huston!

Thanks! Us lazy fishermen have to stick together lol.
Good video bud!!! Keep it up
Thanks James!

Well.....you achieved your objective and had fun doing it. Saw your video alert pop up on my phone and I sure was ready for a video today after PT.
I hope your recovery is going well. I am sure you are going crazy not being able to go fishing.
Hell yes skipjack my favorite bait for flatheads.......has the fishing been slow for you still Justin?
It has still been pretty slow. Finally starting to see some fish recently off the nest so the bite should pick up in the next couple weeks.
Kayak Catfish 10-4 buddy keep grinding...I’ll keep the Ohio valley on check 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What size spoon was that?
I believe they are 1 5/8”
@@KayakCatfish ok thank you
Some days bait is harder to find than the cats, good video.
If I wasn’t so dang cheap, I would just buy it and save myself the hassle lol.
Good video, I never realized you had a Torqeedo trolling motor. I have just put one on my Native Titan 13.5. Love it. What battery do you have with the Torqeedo?
Thanks! I have the smaller 315wh battery. Hope you enjoy it.
Its great to see how you catch your bait fish too
Just for a bit of a change. I know you wasnt pleased with your catch but at least it's enough for one day out. Well done & take care.🎣😎🇬🇧
Thank you Cheryl!
Great Video! Thanks for the info on catching bait. Keep'em Coming!
Thank you James!
Cool video! How do you keep bait until you're ready to fish?
Thanks! I put them in a zip lock bag and keep them packed in ice until time of use.
There is always that one lucky fishing pole that gets all the fish 🤣
Great video 👍.
Greetings from S. Tx.
Haha! Yes, it seems like there is always one rod that gets the most bites.
Haha cool I thought it was just me
Great viedo, ever day can't gang busters. Fish for bait while waiting for the catfish to bite. A live worm 10 ft. deep works great.
Thanks Brian!
Interesting if a LiveScope fish finder would dramatically increase your bait fishing success... but they cost $$$$
I could buy a lot of bait for what a livescope would cost.

"Ditch pickle " man you have me laughing... LOL Haha
Haha! Thanks for watching!
Bait for one day is one day of cat fishing lol but yes it would’ve been better to catch enough for a couple days fishing. Great video 👍🏻
Thanks Jeff!
Thanks Justin, I am lazy too.
Thanks Terry!
Love the videos man keep up the good work!! Was wondering if you would be doing any strip bass video again?
Thanks Kevin! I will be doing some striped bass videos at some point in the future.
