@@milon5378 and the phenomenal brain and hands of Martha Argerich ?!!! As for that fantastic Hiromi, is it part of her personality to wear strips plus a big hole and sneakers ? Does it help her being exceptional ?
Every piano in the world wants to be played by Hiromi. You can see how happy that Yamaha is after this performance, my baby grand at home is so jealous.
Yo I just watched another video of EG.. and I was thinking they have that same delight in their face and open their mouths to smile just the embodiment of happy go lucky
I'm a pianist. Hiromi inspired me to dare to play as fast as I could but with grace, precision and intention; also to push my self to be in 100% energy level for as long as I can. She is however equally as masterful and graceful at the slow, emotional moments; such delicate and graceful phrases. I'm so lucky I'm alive to see her play. Such a privilege.
That she defined those 3 for you is her true gift for the people of her craft like you. You know it cause you hear it. This is what Mike Oldfield's, Paco de Lucia's and Wes Montgomery's guitarwork does for me (and Joe Pass's doesn't). To me, she's a spiritual granddaughter of Oscar Peterson's.
I lived for a couple years in Brooklyn, in the Columbia Street waterfront neighborhood. Our apartment was a couple blocks away from the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Fortunately it ran underground so there wasn’t much highway noise. We called it “the trench” and we walked across an overpass everyday to get to the F train. Her “BQE” captures the essence of the city perfectly: Sophisticated to be sure, but a bit frenetic at times.
I love how she simply couldn’t resist throwing a bar or two of Rhapsody in Blue into I’ve got Rhythm. Chops, history, playfulness, stamina. Who could ask for anything more?
Can we all just give a round of applause to that gorgeous Yamaha piano too for completely delivering during the most intense parts of her performance!!!!!!!
Yamaha does know how to make instruments. I have a good old basic 6-string dreadnaught acoustic (circa 1985). It has such a rich sound. I mean, it’s no Martin, but I know I’ll never sell it!
Just sitting here with tears in my eyes... fkn EVERYTHING she does is pure magic! I've never seen any piano player play with such deep feeling... It really moves you from within, I totally admire her playing!
I really feel like she is one for the ages. If in the times of the masters like Bach and Mozart there was video we would be richer today. Hearing their music as they heard it. Seeing the performances. These recordings will last forever.
I thought it was kind of sad that she got that massive ovation for the Pachelbel Canon instead of for the jaw-dropping original pieces that preceded it, but I had to cry a little at that incredible outpouring of love from the audience. It'd be hard not to love this lady, I think.
I saw her in Vancouver and yes she is that wonderful.Seeing her perform is like god playing through her. Once again tears are in my eyes. God blessed this lovely lady. Thank you for posting this footage may her music live on like Bach Petersen and Evans
You should live forever, stay young and healthy and perform, and perform, and perform... Such kind of diamonds would never die! Eternity to you, Hiromi!
Can't get enough of this amazing Hiromi talent. Mesmerizing, incredible, skill from beyond not to mention probably the cutest smile in front of a Piano. Great audience support also. It's truly on my bucket list to see this wonderful talent in a live show.
Man, the sound of that piano and the acoustics of the venue are amazing. Let alone her playing. Jeeze! And her stamina. That she keeps up that level of intensity the whole time. My hands would be dead halfway through the first tune.
Senyora Uehara, des de Catalunya li faig arribar la meva admiració i gratitut, és vosté una deesa musical, que mai se li esborri el somriure i la senzillesa que l'embolcalla. Moltes gràcies!

I’ve seen a few of her individual performances and seen all of the technical skill. What makes this concert more enjoyable for me is this is the first time I’ve been able to see her with emotive qualities. That she pours her emotion into the pieces. That puts her above those, and I’m especially saying the younger children marked as geniuses out there who play with incredible technical proficiency, but lack the emotive qualities that take more time to develop. She’s got it all. And this is what I enjoy about any musician. Not only has the technical skill, but you can feel with them the emotion as they pour it out from within themselves onto the instruments they play.
Quel talent. Une vrai personnalité avec des mains qui volèrent parfois comme des papillons. On l adore et on l admire. Merci à elle pour ces moments vraiment exceptionnels

The here restyled "I've Got Rhythm" of George Gershwin is a wonderful piece of great music (jazz) thank to the talents (with an "s" at the end) of a great musician and great pianist: Hiromi Uehara! Three times "great"!!!
Yes, her arrangement of it is brilliant. I especially love the deconstruction of the theme before she gets to the flashy part in the middle. And then there's the actual playing. Woah.
Thanks for re-uploading this incredible performance. I've seen Hiromi live twice - solo and with the band. I much prefer solo. Despite her technique, she's such an intimate player and really conveys her emotions best alone. Having said that I quite like her previous band and the music it produced. It wasn't as overpowering as the current band with Anthony Jackson.
