Incitos Sol they semi did in the invasion crossover. He claim Kara(supergirl) looks just like his cousin. This could of been a refernce to his time as superman
Ben Wasserman I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen a fan theory that the Kugan from Highlander is Lex Luther. Also it's kinda funny that he's Mr. Krabs too.
"The Late Mr. Kent" is, to date, my favorite Superman: TAS episode. I loved that ending, I love the really heavy subject matter (I was hooked when I watched this episode as a kid as it discussed the death penalty, wrongful conviction, etc.) and I always loved the interesting dynamic it brought up. Everyone talks about the possibility of Batman, Superman, the Flash, etc. dying, but what about the deaths of Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, or Barry Allen. What would life be like for them if they couldn't go out in public as the alter egos?
I remember watching Apokolips.....now and thinking wow they just killed that dude. He stayed gone. Very gutsy for a Kids WB show. Don't even think Batman: TAS killed off a main character.
That’s just like your opinion man. In my opinion Batman is better but I really like this version of Superman. I loved this series, btas, and both justice league shows
Wow! 5: HELL YEAH! Starting off strong. I remember that moment. 4: Damn season 2 has some good stuff. 3: Danny Phantom leads the rebels. Sorry went on a tangent. Awesome sauce. 2: BUT OF COURSE. The Cast was on their A Game. 1: Long consequences after this. Never saw the episodes. Fantastic guys what a good way to celebrate Superman.
One of my favorite that I thought would at least be in the honorable mentions is "Main Man" part one and two. Showing my favorite version of Lobo, a psychotic super strong bounty hunter with no morals beyond following the Main Man code (which he made up), voiced by popular actor/voice actor Brad Garrett.
I so love the art style of this show and Batman Animated Series. It's just amazing. Batman had more, but even Superman had those cool Neo-Noir Art Deco Styles.
Livewire was my favorite character and her two episodes are my favorites. she's so quotable "Oh look it's you. Tall, dark, and stupid." "Well now we know you hit girls." "What do you know, the boy scout brought protection." "Super-Jerk" "Psst, Mr. Clean. Yo, rapper master Danny. HEY STUPID!"
Have to agree with the top 2. It was great to see the start of Batman and Superman's relationship going into Justice League and how much Legacy affected the series, especially for Dr Hamilton and Supergirl. While I'd agree that Batman's relationships with Catwoman and Talia aren't great in the DCAU, I think his relationship with Wonder Woman ended up being his best, although Lois would have been pretty good.
"World's Finest" was 99.99 percent perfect. The only thing that marred the episode was that god-awful new character design of The Joker. It was just horrible. And still is. (*what the hell was Bruce Timm thinking??*) It's the only thing that keeps this episode from to a solid 100 percent.
Wow i am impressed with this list because it's pretty much my top 5 favourites episodes from STAS, 25 years later and this is stil the best Superman cartoon ever
"Mxyzpixilated" deserves to crack the Top 5 for being the best comedy episode in the series (and one of the best comedy episodes in _any_ superhero series).
Apocalypse Now Is From S3, No 2, But Ok, Anyways, I'm Surprised The Last Son Of Krypton Didn't Make It, But Considering How Good These Episodes R, Specially Apocalypse Now & Legacy, That's Kind Of Understandable
I do not know if I have seen all the episodes ( probably have 5 or so more episodes to see ) but because I would have to them all to do a definitive ranking my favorites of the ones I have seen are more or less The Last Son Of Krypton ( I consider multi part episodes as 1 ), The Late Mr.Kent, Legacy, Feeding Time, A Little Piece Of Home, Brave New Metropolis, The Main Man, Double Dose, Blast From The Past, and number 1 being World's Finest. Time Stamp 10:18 9/15/22
10)The Late Mr. Kent 9)New Kids in Town 8)A Fish Story 7)Apokolips…Now!, 6)Fun and Games 5)Knight Time 4)Brave New Metropolis 3)Two's a Crowd 2)The Last Son of Krypton 1)Legacy
Here's my favorite Superman The Animated Series Episodes: 1. Legacy 2. The Late Mr. Kent 3. World's Finest 4. Brave New Metropolis 5. Knight Time 6. Apokolips Now Honorable Mentions: Speed Demons, My Girl, Fun and Games, & Obsession
All amazing episodes and does darker Superman RIGHT. And is why a ton of us were hyped for seeing the Bat vs the MoS. And while it may be partially responsible for the birth of the modern OP Superman as opposed to just good ol' Man of Steel, and well, it's age shows albeit still good - it still, hands down has the best Lois Lane even compared to S:TAS. Saw the old cartoons on VHS before S:TAS came out or I even say the 70's movie, and it set the bar. They may be awesome, but they aren't "on a government mint train being hijacked, see's a guard and crook fall overboard, tries to control the train only for the crooks in the chase car to shoot at her and with almost no second thought grab a dropped thompson and shoot back at them" awesome. Also, no Cavill Superman, I wonder why that is. Oh right, because we had like 10 minutes of him actually being Superman, not the Superman from #3, or #1, or the JL episode, you get the point.
Great list, I only seen bits of this cartoon and never really sat down through a whole episode, at least I don't think I did. Gotta say that area in Illinois looks awesome. I may have to visit that area someday. Nice to see a break from the whole "Dino-Rob" story arc. I do recall see the three part "Superman/Batman" on VHS as the "Batman & Superman Movie" as a kid and really enjoying it. Kinda wish Zack Snyder took notes from that movie and not give us the convoluted mess that was "Batman V. Superman:Dawn of Justice".
Erm, can you even count World's Finest since it's not really a standalone Superman arc? I mean yes it did premiere with STAS however it's Superman AND Batman rather than the former. In a weird way this could also be a copout for a top 5 BTAS list as well because technically Batman is in drawn in the style of the later seasons and one wouldn't even know this was a STAS arc because it also came out as a direct to video named "The Batman Superman Movie: World's Finest" where most people would've discovered it due to it's popularity (as STAS was never nearly as popular as BTAS). Also I find it funny because as per usual Batman's name was first in the title even though it first aired on STAS.
For me, this is and will always be THE Superman. The TRUE Man of Steel. STAS was my introduction to Superman and is the main reason he's my all time favorite hero and the type of person I strive to be. Which is exactly why I can't stand his iterations in Injustice, and the Zack Snyder movies. To me, the only iteration that comes close is Superman vs the Elite which I believe shows Superman's mindset and methods in a short amount of time.
My Improvement in this Crossover (Worlds Finest): Improvement 1: In the Scene, where Batman must fight against Lex's Robot, in the meantime should Superman save Jimmy Olsen from Harley Quinn and himself from the Krypronite. In this Hideout Harley punchs Superman with some Toyweapons and give him the last Kiss before the Dead. But Superman finds out that Harley has normal Human-Feelings compare to the Joker and laughs and said some hurting Words like: "The Jokers just uses you as Tool" and "Its now your Chance to save our lives" And under the Hideout were really Bomb and Harley don't know abou this and Superman saw this by his X-RayVision before he enters the Hideout. And after Harley's hurting she shoots the Kryptonite out of this Hideout and in this last Minute Superman rescues Harley and Jimmy from the Explosion. After that Harley kiss Superman again, but as thank you and swarms of him and she go without Problems to Arkham Asylum Improvement 2: In the Final Battle, where almost all Robots are destroyed, Superman flys to the captured flying Battleship by the Joker and punchs and kicks him as a Revenge for the Torture from their first and gives a "Falconpunch" throw the Window. At the meantime, Batman must fight against the last giant Robot, but this Time, Batman beats the Robot all alone (with a little Help of Mercy Graves). Crossover means Opponent exchange and thats how it should.
The Superman animated series is at least as good as the Batman animated series. And i should even admit that overall, the Superman animated series was better than the Batman animated series imo...i may be the only one who thinks like that, but thats honestly how i see it
holly shit Aiyanna look really hot in this top 5 episode .Anyways yet another great animated series ,nowdays is really hard to see a good super heroe series
Michael Ironside was friggin excellent as Darkseid.
"I am many things, Kal-El. Here, I am God."
One of the best lines in the entire series.
I swear every time I see Routh, I just think “wow Returns had a bad script for you buddy”.
Well at least Legends of Tomorrow has given him a well developed and likable character
Ben Wasserman I’d wish they make a reference to him playing Supes. Unless they did and I’m just forgetting it.
Incitos Sol they semi did in the invasion crossover. He claim Kara(supergirl) looks just like his cousin. This could of been a refernce to his time as superman
Actually at the end of the Invasion crossover event, he mentioned how Supergirl "looked a lot like his cousin."
Ben Wasserman Good. I swear the amount of times I’ve screamed “gah stop being a awesome Superman” borders on the earths destroyed in ‘86.
I wasn't expecting the list to be accurate, but it was, it was VERY ACCURATE!! I LOVED IT!
Clicked because black Lex Luther in the thumbnail.
He’s not black, he’s just dark-skinned. It’s the animation.
BlackCover95 which is black tf lmao
He means tan Lex Luthor was not intended to be black.
Murdock I know what he means,it was funny he used dark skinned...so he’s still black rn
What's wrong with him being black?
Clancy Brown is STILL the best Lex Luthor in any medium
Ben Wasserman I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen a fan theory that the Kugan from Highlander is Lex Luther.
Also it's kinda funny that he's Mr. Krabs too.
Also the best Dr. Neo Cortex
It's hard to believe he is also Mr Crabbs
Michael Rosenbaum >>>
Both great tho.
What would life be like for them if they couldn't go out in public as the alter egos?
Look up in the sky , its a bird , it's a plane , no it's a new top 5 video .😁👌
Jake Voronkov i think so
Will we see a Top 5 Static Shock episodes some day? It's not my favorite DCAU show, but it definitely deserves some love.
I’d like to maybe give it a go down the road. I think it deserves more attention as well.
Not enough people show Static Shock the love it deserves!
In all honesty darkseid looks more believable than the movies Steppenwolf (don't even know if I spelt thag right)
I remember watching Apokolips.....now and thinking wow they just killed that dude. He stayed gone. Very gutsy for a Kids WB show. Don't even think Batman: TAS killed off a main character.
I think it was one of the only times they were allowed to outright kill a character. They wanted to give Jack Kirby a proper memorial.
That's what was great about theses shows is they did not write down to kids watching it.
Superman=best superhero ever
ndingo He IS a symbol of hope. And in some incarnations he is either the One Winged Angel or a pilot who owns a one man airline.
That’s just like your opinion man. In my opinion Batman is better but I really like this version of Superman. I loved this series, btas, and both justice league shows
Kale Rohde agreed man warner bros was the shit growing up, i still watch those cartoons you mentioned to this day. they hold up really well.
Im suprised you didnt meet angry joe at the superman museum considering how much of a superman fan he is.
Top 5 best Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels Episodes
At least _Knight Time_ got an honorable mention.
Doug, They Made a Boss Baby series on Netflix, Please end our suffering
For animation, style and voice talent, this series remains my favorite of all Superman media.
Please do Top 5 Spectacular Spiderman Episodes
One of my favorite that I thought would at least be in the honorable mentions is "Main Man" part one and two. Showing my favorite version of Lobo, a psychotic super strong bounty hunter with no morals beyond following the Main Man code (which he made up), voiced by popular actor/voice actor Brad Garrett.
I so love the art style of this show and Batman Animated Series. It's just amazing. Batman had more, but even Superman had those cool Neo-Noir Art Deco Styles.
Yep best top 5
Do Top 5 Digimon episodes.
Ive been to that Metropolis before awesome town.
As far as that Batman/Lois match, I always felt Bars and Wonder Woman made a better couple
Or catwoman based on the comics and other series outside of the DCAU.
yeah her too, though I was primarily thinking DCAU.
I agree 100% I would like to see more of Wonder Woman in Bars
Can u do a top 5 best and worse smallville episodes
Review the Astro boy movie
Fudge Buddy nah.
I would of included the episode, Livewire on the list or at least the honorable mentions.
I wonder how many people here hate Superman?
MegaBRD The Movie Nerd I hate his Cinematic universe version. Does that count?
MysteriousM I suppose it does
I like him. I'm more into Batman and a lot of other heroes, but I like him.
Batman and Goku fanboys do lol
What I find cringe worthy is when people think that lawful good characters can't be interesting.
My two biggest favourites from the DC Universe are;
Batman (Terry McGinnis) and Supergirl
Nice choices.
I loved this show so much in my mind all the episodes are great and this series is every bit as good as Batman the Animated series
I'd love it if they re-released this show on bluray. Those double sided dvds in the complete series are shit.
They did that with Wonder Woman season 2 and 3 also. Impossible to keep in good condition.
Meeennn I wish I was at that supercon event😭.Apokolips now episode really made me literally cry
Wonder if they got to meet or talk with Brandon Routh. Love Superman Returns and he was a great Superman. Very underrated.
Probably not and I agree. I think he is the best Superman. They should have had him be Superman in the CW show Supergirl.
These shows are the best material from DC of all time excluding young justice.
I need to find this series on dvd
"World's Finest" was 99.99 percent perfect. The only thing that marred the episode was that god-awful new character design of The Joker.
It was just horrible. And still is. (*what the hell was Bruce Timm thinking??*) It's the only thing that keeps this episode from to a solid 100 percent.
I wish at least 1 crossover episode was made in the style of batman the animated series ( before the redesigns ).
@@cimalasheffield3450 I agree
Damn, even after all these years, Lex still has that cue ball head.
He can't really grow his hair? At least from what I know. Though he could get a wig, lol.
such a great show. the perfect (and my) introduction to the greatest (in my opinion) hero of them all. man, i gotta rewatch this series!
Wow i am impressed with this list because it's pretty much my top 5 favourites episodes from STAS, 25 years later and this is stil the best Superman cartoon ever
No love for The Main Man or Myxylspitlyk?
Mxyzptlk 🙃
Watchmen nostalgia critic! !!!!

Here's my favorite Superman The Animated Series Episodes:
1. Legacy
2. The Late Mr. Kent
3. World's Finest
4. Brave New Metropolis
5. Knight Time
6. Apokolips Now
Honorable Mentions: Speed Demons, My Girl, Fun and Games, & Obsession
Channel Awesome should review 1985's "Legend" featuring Tim Curry, Tom Cruz, and Mia Sara. It would be priceless! Lol
All amazing episodes and does darker Superman RIGHT. And is why a ton of us were hyped for seeing the Bat vs the MoS.

Good list, good fair showing. Short and to the point.
"Super join forces with Luthor to make Metroolis great again." I see what you did there. 😂
Erm, can you even count World's Finest since it's not really a standalone Superman arc? I mean yes it did premiere with STAS however it's Superman AND Batman rather than the former. I’m Surprised Nobody dressed as Dragon Ball Z Characters

Crossover means Opponent exchange and thats how it should.
Where the Batman animated series were a collection of detective stories, the Superman Animated Series were a colection of mythological epics.
I kinda squeed internally when I noticed that I have that long-sleeved T-shirt Aiyanna's wearing :)
YES!!!! The Batman-V-Superman review I've Been WAITING FOr!! (8'D Thanks guys!
did you guys at least get to meet Brandon Routh ? i liked his Superman , Kevin Spacey did an awesome job as Lex...
Fuck Batman the overrated series.
I always liked the Superman animated series more.
my top 5 animated series ranked
1. Batman animated series
2. Batman Beyond
3. superman
4. Spiderman
5. x men
You were in Metropolis? When? I didn't see you guys there. I would have loved to talk to you guys while you were there.
How about a top 5 Digimon Adventure episodes if you're into anime? Also Heather & Aiyanna--GREAT ADDITIONS TO THE SHOW!
I watched more BatmanTAS but I still very much enjoyed the SupermanTAS eps that I did watch.
I stopped by metropolis on my way home from St. Louis for a couple hours. It was fun! I really wanna take a whole day trip sometime
The Superman animated series is at least as good as the Batman animated series. And i should even admit that overall, the Superman animated series was better than the Batman animated series imo...i may be the only one who thinks like that, but thats honestly how i see it
Spoilers: The final battle in Brave New Metropolis is epic with Lex Luthor dying on his own head.
He missed Fun and Games and the debut episode of Mxyzptlk, I forget the name.
This is the only good Superman tv series. I don't care for Lois & Clark or Smallville.
Would have been the perfect opportunity to have a Bizarro duplicate, but still a great video
It was so great ro meet you all at the Superman Celebration!! Thanks again👍👍👍
Oh, what could have been with more episodes of this series. It's a shame WB killed it off.
holly shit Aiyanna look really hot in this top 5 episode .Anyways yet another great animated series ,nowdays is really hard to see a good super heroe series
I can't wait to see Darksied in the DCEU. Gonne be like Thanos but way better .
I watched the 1940s Superman cartoons as a kid, had them on VHS I think.
Am I the only one who noticed that Aiyanna is wearing Batman socks to a Superman convention?
Awesome video guys!!
I'm so looking forward to that new Death of Superman movie!
happy 25th anniversary superman:the animated series!!! :3
And it was because of the three part episode that Batman the animated series had a new look and design for everyone
Guess Dinorob thought it wise not to try sending any Replicants with so many super heroes around
hey doug can you do a review of mousehunt?
It's cool that Brandon Routh appeared at Metropolis
No mater what superhero it was The animated series were always good :3
If legacy wasn’t number one I would punch a wall
Nostalgia critic hasn't reviewed the solo movie!
Dang...there's were A lot of great season 2 episodes!
late mr kent should of bin top 3
My favourite is the introduction of bizzaro episode.
Man I wish I was there for Good Reasons
Great show, I just never liked the theme song.
Wow, no stupid 5 minute intro about a lame storyline nobody cares about, and just getting right to the top 10?
I’m kind of disappointed the episode “Mxyzpixilated” didn’t make the list.
Yeah, you'd think Walter would include that one considering Gilbert Gottfried voices the episode's titular character.
Top 5 Yugioh Monsters
4:24 Just don't let Batman hear you say that.
Boy meets world would love to see a top 5 on that.
I want Routh back as Superman 😥
That Superman needs some pants...
5:03 that family on the bench....
#ReleaseSuperManAnimatedSeriesSeason4
Whoever voiced Lex needs a medal
