- Drag Racing Crashes Close Calls and Fireballs, a collection of videos that I have taken in 2018.
You will see some crashes that happened at the Byron Wheelstand Contest, and some from the filming of the Street Outlaws Live event such as No Prep Kings and Outlaw Armageddon.
Some of the Street Outlaws that can be seen in this video is, Ryan Martin in the Fireball Camaro, Joe Woods/Dominator, Kye Kelley/Shocker, Jerry Johnson/Monza, Ryan Taggert/SwampThing, Kelly Blubaugh, Daddy Dave/Goliath 2.0, and Justin Shearer/Big Chief and the Crow.

Yup, it’s all farts and giggles until the car rolls over or worse....FIRE! We sometimes forget how dangerous this sport can be.
Amen. A lot of money down the drain too. Always good to see that thumbs up from a driver after a bad crash.

In quite a few clips when one car is a mustang that's usually the car that's gonna crash because of how prone they are to losing control
The reason for 90% of those crashes was no prep . I've been a fan for 50 years watched all the changes , going back to something with the power available today doesn't make sense . It's just as hard (but more entertaining) to run a full 1/4 mile wide open on a prepped surface .
Short wheel base cars react so fast, Some times they get away from you.

That was Kye Kelley's Aftershock Camaro. Wasn't that crazy the amount of Nitrous he must have been spraying to get a flame that big? It takes me a day to put a video together like this, but the filming was all of 2018 and lots of hours spent at the race track waiting to get the perfect shots like this. .... weird...a whole lot of mustang drivers messing up lmao 🤣
A couple things I like about this: people locking up their brakes and not crashing and people think they saved it, ha ha , getting out of it and then, getting back into it and loosing it, staying in it way too long and loosing it, blowing an engine and not stopping. I hope I never line up next to folks like that.
There is definitely something in these drivers heads that is defective. Of course some of that is what makes someone a competitor, but you have to know when to quit. Unless there is big money on the line for a run once you lose bite or have to lift much the run is done. Idle through and get ready to try again.
What exactly causes fireballs and what does it mean for the cars that happen to them?
the engine explodes which means you cant drive it

Going up is not going forward, keep the wheelies to a minimum, hate to see these beauties crashed up
surprisingly, there is a lot of love there on drag racing ground.....

Why do most of the cars just allow themselves to keep rolling after engine blowouts or crashes. Most of them don't even try to brake or try to stop. No brake lights ever come on or anything. Serious question though, not into racing at all and wanted to know.
its no surprise that the majority of this compilation are mustangs- the things are practically made of havoc if you ask me..

they think its a destruction derby- but you are onto something- the mustangs seem to be very uncontrollable, thinking that for some time now. I've never driven anything this quick and fast so I'm guessing.

If you have a car that you take out to the strip every so often, and you find yourself staged against a fox body Mustang, then when the tree goes green just pull away slowly because at some point, it, or parts thereof, will end up in _your_ lane and you can just slowly coast around the wreckage to an easy if high ET win. This because their frame architecture is rubbish and there is no reason to put a racing engine in them.

Look back in history to people like Eddie Hill, Blaine Johnson, Scott Kallita, Shirley Muldowney...safety has improved so much. Still hate seeing these drivers lose control and cars damaged or destroyed.
Lesson learnt
Dont drift on drag strip
Don't go full throttle on starting
Prep the surface , entertain us and save the cars
How to not crash: don't race a foxbody
Everybody is like mustangs drivers suck and hate on fords they don’t realize it’s a Chevy motor and rear and front end
How to win: be slower in the beginning.
Would not race a classic mucle car sorry its not worth the risk there are plenty of undesirable cars that will due the job just fine.
How many boring runs do you have sit through to get the one cool thing that happens each day?...
You clearly do not understand the amount of work it takes to make one of these cars. Only a true mouth breather likes to see them crash.

@@daleostrom3613 You can bet your life, Ford's have seen more Chevy taillights than any other auto manufacture. Ford big blocks nothing compared to the small block Chevy.
Chevrolet has more wins in NASCAR than all other makes put together. This isn't the only racing video on YT. Try watching others, they show those fox body Mustangs, crashing into the wall 8 out of 10 runs.

Another couple of bucks on admission price, from attendees who want drivers to remain solvent and healthy, might help finance such projects.
Track operators collect gate $$$ and racers no doubt sign off on personal injury and damages to their rides. Win/lose.😢
