We will be clamming for Pismo clams on the beautiful central coast of California. Pismo Clams are famous for their size and taste and are only found on the central coast in Pismo Beach California.
To protect these tasty treats from being over harvested there is a max of ten clams per person per day with a valid California fishing license. Strict adherence to minimum width of 4.5 inches in width to be legal has assured long term survival and of these clams.
People drive from all over the country to visit this beautiful beach and to camp on the sand by the water. Other fun activities at Pismo Beach is off-roading in the sand dunes, surf fishing and other water activities such as surf jet skiing (my favorite) and kite surfing.
I consider myself very lucky to live only 30 minutes of easy scenic drive away from this treasure. if you ever visit the central coast of California make sure you include visiting Pismo Beach part of your plans.
