Just got home to find my Clinch Pick waiting for me. It's actually a little smaller than I envisioned, which is a GOOD thing. It is very easy to carry and conceal in the intended position. The knife also feels surprisingly good in the hand as well. Especially for such a compact weapon. And while I have no experience with the much pricier custom versions of this design, I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the overall design as well as the fit and finish on this knife. I'm sort of picky on my edges and very commonly I'll do a full edge reprofile on my new knives. But, ya know... the edge on this knife is pretty damn good straight out of the box so I decided to leave well enough alone and not touch it. Good stuff! If you're considering picking one of these up, I'll say that you won't be disappointed. And @Warrior Poet Society, John, I just noticed the return address on the shipping label and included invoice is from my hometown. I knew we were from the same state, but not the same town... Although, I see another business with the same address... So, perhaps you don't actually live here and maybe that's just the address from where some of your products ship...
It’s reverse edged. Should have two edges. It’s over priced for where it’s made. Flat better off paying for a custom made piece. The knife industry has got VERY greedy
I have taken classes in edged weapons on a number of occasions (many years ago). From some of the foremost instructors in the field. This blade and the concepts are HUGE! JOhn, look for my order. And Craig, look for me to sign up. This make more practical sense than anything I have ever seen.

I still retain my knowledge and in a had to situation my heart would prevail till my body couldn't. I would like to see a video for people in my physical situation. Who may not possess the same knowledge. I'm sure there are plenty of us Warriors out there. Who would benefit immensely from that type of video. I know your a problem solver would love to see your take on this.
Best commercial ever. I'm sold. I've never spent over 100 on a knife with less than a 4.75" blade, but I'm gladly going to drop 117 on the clinch pick. Gladly.
Double edge knives are not allowed in my country but i got something from your demo! A small fixed persian style blade has an upswept point that can stab into the arm that's grabbing your knife hand so it's still very good design to carry without the upper spine edge sharpened, and twisting my arm can still get single edge to cut the grabbers arm!!! Thanks Sir for the Demo, very helpful!!!
I'm a security guard and when Craig said "Poets poetically poetizing", I laughed rather loudly in the little office that I sit in. Thankfully nobody was around me at the time. Thanks guys!
I had been seeing this on your website and debated buying it, now that I've seen the practical application and thought process behind it, I'm DEFFINATLY buying it
Great piece of equipment and technique, most of my 41 year law enforcement career was in undercover investigations you learn real quick how easy it is to pin a persons arm down while inside a vehicle. I usually carried a Cold Steel push dagger with the top rail sharpened in a side draw modified sheath, along with a second gun on the left side of the drivers seat.
Maybe my 3rd or 4th view. And I broke down and bought one. I’m a great “researcher” and I find it hard to pull the buy trigger until I know the market well. I did my research. I know the market. The clinch pick is clearly purpose designed for why you would want a close quarters combat knife even while you are carrying a gun. Thanks Mr Craig for a well thought out design. You are pretty legendary. And I’ll be proud to also say I bought this off the WPS website. Because I like what you do John.
A knife like this should be mandatory for LEO's. Before retirement I carried 2 knives like this. 1 for weak hand. Other on my vest. For the same reasons you are talking about. Thank you. Great video
Thanks to craig and WPS's videos I am a proud owner and daily carrier of the clinch pick 1 and trainer pair I just received from Shivworks. This matched pair exceeded my expectations. So comfortable and intuitive to wear and deploy. What a great fixed blade set up. I am now carrying the clinch pick paired with my spyderco P'kal folder for a dual reverse blade system. Once I deployed the clinch pick in actual training I was sold. Thanks to Craig and the Shivworks team for a remarkable blade and WPS for showcasing Craig's knowledge/skill and this fine product. If you're on the fence, take the plunge on the clinch pick....you won't be disappointed.
John, i suggest you make a list of knives for this type of situation. They should be of different costs so there is a knife for people who are rich or not so much. If you read this thank you.
@@noc8076 the idea is to find different types if this knife is not for you. Rather than say X knife is better than Y knife. Make a list and see what options are available to everyone from an adult to a preteen.
Great knife. It takes a lot of training to not put your thumb out on the blade. It's unusual with a blade that small to not reinforce it with your thumb thinking the edge is on the outside. I've heard that's the number one issue. From experience you have to train with it first for sure.
"Jiu Jujitsu body mechanics". No disrespect to the man, cause he's awesome, and what he teaches is both great and important, but body mechanics are body mechanics. They're universal, and any good martial system, old or new, will take advantage of them. Believe it or not, when understood properly, traditional martial arts make remarkable use of body mechanics. If you disagree, then you haven't studied or trained enough. Excellent video, and very eye opening instruction. Def gives me some food for thought with my carry blade. I love that you continue to bring these unique perspectives John.
4 years ago I has major back surgery, and it took over a year for the soreness to go away. The doc must have used this Shiv on me. Cutting the low back may be a good idea if the pain I felt was anything like what this blade could do. Just stick it in and run it around the hip regions of the back. Like double WOW that would hurt. This guy is a real bad ass, (spoken politely).
Thanks for the shout out from the One Lady who watches. Really enjoyed this with the demonstrations. It was from Warrior Poet videos that I first learned about Craig D.
Plus John had the upper hand in knowing the knife was there and what his opponent was trying to do exactly so still impressive cause he gave John every advantage

French- Rising Dragon School Shaolin Kung Fu training International training Centres Train Smart at one of my international training retreats. Eastern Elite training base at the foothills of the Himalaya where my ancestors are from.
The dagger stuff is ALL wrestling based. This is partly due to the weapons being used, partly the much heavier and inherently more cut resistant clothing, but it primarily relies on joint locks and targeting the weapon hand of your opponent. Interesting, it's also done almost exclusively with the ice pick grip
@@Ruizg559 That's right, the only defense against dagger/knife in the tretises, beside keeping distance, is grappling- hanging on to the dagger grasping arm. As for the grip type, both straight and reverse grip were used, but ice pick grip was predominant earlier, for penetration; straight grip became more popular later, when armor, including padded armor, was falling out of use. Scholagladiatoria has a great video about it.

Nice video, I carry something similar a Kbar TDI for that same reason and in the exact same place, I am a Truck driver, and I am not allowed to carry a firearm.. "Poets, Poetically, Poetizing" with your symbol in the middle, needs to be on a T-shirt.
As an Aussie constantly searching for a better blade that I'm legally allowed to carry (not many options there) I searched for that TDI. The grip implies/enforces that the cutting edge be facing down. That's not the same as this. Blade up is a must for the kind of techniques suggested here (close quarters grappling)

That's because criminals(the ones doing most of the shooting) cheap out on their ammo and don't use rounds that leave big enough holes on the way out...or in the case of the R.I.P. rounds shoot 7 razor blades in all directions through the entire chest cavity...and I'm sure I'm gonna get some flack for using R.I.P. but they cycle great in my sig 1911 purposely tried to jam it up and couldn't...penetration is low but that's the point get it into the cavity and let the razor blades do work and have less danger to bystanders
@@rosicrucian8993 Knives are risky in untrained hands. In hands with experience and training they can be deadly. The key is in training and making your training sessions realistic as possible. That means not just a few drills or katas but actual combat sparring. This is a real problem with many martial arts that aren't combative based. In most cases knife fighting means someone is getting cut, usually both parties.
@@SW45auto you're getting flack for using RIP because it's overpriced gimmicky garbage. Defensive rounds need to penetrate and expand in human beings, looking pretty in a block of gel means nothing.
@@trevorallen5988 yes you definitely want a round that penetrates your target and 3 other innocent bystanders in a crowded place....you certainly wouldn't want your round to penetrate your target destroy his insides and then stop as to not murder someone behind your target....and I already covered that I do not load them when it's cold or I'm on the bike do to large winter jackets or leathers
Excellent video John, great information. I really need to incorporate a small fixed blade into my system. The hip trick that Craig was doing is such good info. Thanks
OkeyDokey 27 I love my tdi for every day carry with a kobra kydex holster it’s easy and comfortable to carry.
15:25 “Ahhh GET IT AWAY!” Haha - The scream of fear when he heard that knife deployment! OMG!
Love when you have Craig on. It raises raining to the level of engaging entertainment which makes the mind want to know what is being taught. Very compelling.
I purchased at clinch pick in 2008 after taking a class and using someone's trainer. It is everything they say it is. Great video.
The moment he said "Inosanto Lacoste" I was sold!

BWAAAA!!!!! Spit my coffee!!🤣
Deadly serious hilarity. 🥴
Small world! Do you have a venue where you give classes somewhere local to us? If so, that sure would help push me over the edge to taking one of your classes.
Although, I see another business with the same address... So, perhaps you don't actually live here and maybe that's just the address from where some of your products ship...
@ 13:30 Imagine if somebody drove or walked past your vehicle. There would be much confusion. 😂😂
15:44 .... 15:55 ...now close your eyes..... "uuaaarrgghhhh"
These two together are real game changers. Thinking outside the box gives us a fighting chance against evil bad guys. I love this stuff.
As an evil bad guy, I’d like to remind you we watch these videos too. We’re not evil 100% of the time
All of these reasons are also why l love my CRKT mini-bowie. Even can deploy the same, down and out. Not the same purchase capability though.
that's pretty awesome design Craig! thanks for sharing the tactics, i would have never have considered carrying a dual edge before
Dual edge? Regular clinch pick isn’t dual edge it’s only reversed edge. It’s not very good and made in China the sheaths scuff and mark up the blade.
It’s reverse edged. Should have two edges. It’s over priced for where it’s made. Flat better off paying for a custom made piece. The knife industry has got VERY greedy
I think this video beautifully demonstrates the use of the core muscles and how they almost always over power arms and legs.
""You got a sick mind, that's why we are Buddys'** haha hilarious
I have taken classes in edged weapons on a number of occasions (many years ago). From some of the foremost instructors in the field. This blade and the concepts are HUGE! JOhn, look for my order. And Craig, look for me to sign up. This make more practical sense than anything I have ever seen.
I can't believe I'm the only girl on this channel! Well.. hooray to me!! \o/

Coming back here 3 years later just to inform that after my 16yo daughter had to close work at night by herself last weekend.. as as she’s underage and can’t carry a firearm yet.. I immediately purchased on of these for her..
She’s already well versed in self defense, and firearms.. but this is the only thing she can carry on body legally that is appropriate for defense especially for a female who’s likely to be taken from behind..
Just arrived today and can’t wait till she get home from school today to work with her and the trainer on how to use and deploy it.. major thanks for creating this product..
Hey Guy, It’s been my experience , that unless the defensive fighter is aware that they need to “stab” like they mean it, they will fail to disable an subdue their antagonist. When you’re in a knife fight, you have to mean it!
I’ve been a fan of the clinch pick for a few years, I love it.
Love the videos Mr poet just discovered you recently and I've been going back and watching all of them very funny and informative as a fellow veteran sharing your training and info with the public to help is awesome keep it up
"software" is good..."hardware" is better.Great video fellas. Real situational stuff. Thanks
“Oh sick mind....Fantastic!!!”
THANK YOU. for a real life training video clip that shows close contact in and around a vehicle. our society revolves around our cars and we need to know how to fight in and around our cars.
Man I Love these Videos of you two teamed up together. Lots of great knowledge to be transferred between the two of you. Not to mention the laughs. This was one of the ones that is right up my alley. I'm physically compromised I train with my gun and knife regularly but do to health issues. I'm no longer able to practice partner training like I did in my past. I still retain my knowledge and in a had to situation my heart would prevail till my body couldn't. I would like to see a video for people in my physical situation. Who may not possess the same knowledge. I'm sure there are plenty of us Warriors out there. Who would benefit immensely from that type of video. I know your a problem solver would love to see your take on this.
situational awareness is a life saver as well.
I bet Master Ken could beat these guys without a knife!!!!! Great vid!
You guys are so happy when you work together, just 2 buds goofing around wrestling and accidentally making a video
I really learn a lot from these demos. Thanks John!
Best commercial ever. I'm sold. I've never spent over 100 on a knife with less than a 4.75" blade, but I'm gladly going to drop 117 on the clinch pick. Gladly.
I’m a lady and I love watching your videos lol
Double edge knives are not allowed in my country but i got something from your demo! A small fixed persian style blade has an upswept point that can stab into the arm that's grabbing your knife hand so it's still very good design to carry without the upper spine edge sharpened, and twisting my arm can still get single edge to cut the grabbers arm!!! Thanks Sir for the Demo, very helpful!!!
I'm a security guard and when Craig said "Poets poetically poetizing", I laughed rather loudly in the little office that I sit in. Thankfully nobody was around me at the time. Thanks guys!
Shouldn't you be outside the office securing things 🤠
Training grappling seems to be the key with all these self defense videos. I'm only 3 years into BJJ; wish I started earlier.
you guys should do another video but with rubber knives as to show what would actually go down and not worry about stabbing each other.
PC_Blitz oh I thought the demonstrations were using a plastic one
yeah made me nervous if that was real lol one slip
I had been seeing this on your website and debated buying it, now that I've seen the practical application and thought process behind it, I'm DEFFINATLY buying it
I love it, my wife hates it. Conditions are set to go ahead and buy one!
Josiah Mardirosian
Did you get a Clinch pick?
Jedan Duncan no I didn't haha
My wife buys me knifes😂
Great piece of equipment and technique, most of my 41 year law enforcement career was in undercover investigations you learn real quick how easy it is to pin a persons arm down while inside a vehicle. I usually carried a Cold Steel push dagger with the top rail sharpened in a side draw modified sheath, along with a second gun on the left side of the drivers seat.
ohh this is dope can we get more close quarters stuff?
Maybe my 3rd or 4th view. And I broke down and bought one. I’m a great “researcher” and I find it hard to pull the buy trigger until I know the market well.
I did my research. I know the market. The clinch pick is clearly purpose designed for why you would want a close quarters combat knife even while you are carrying a gun.
Thanks Mr Craig for a well thought out design. You are pretty legendary. And I’ll be proud to also say I bought this off the WPS website. Because I like what you do John.
I love this blade. I wish they made one that was double edged also.
Got one because of the video. Been carrying it for a few weeks now and I'm very happy. Worth the money based on uniqueness alone, plus very useful.
A knife like this should be mandatory for LEO's. Before retirement I carried 2 knives like this. 1 for weak hand. Other on my vest. For the same reasons you are talking about. Thank you. Great video
This is amazing content. Two guys just having a good time trying to make the world a better place!
Great video! We need more craig Douglas!
Excellent video and demonstrations. Thank you for educating us on real world scenarios.
Squad goals.
John, i suggest you make a list of knives for this type of situation. They should be of different costs so there is a knife for people who are rich or not so much. If you read this thank you.
Set aside $1, 2 or 5 a day. Buy what you really want. If you buy something that you have thought through you will never regret it.
@@noc8076 Right on. Skip the beer for a few days. Buy once, cry once.
@@noc8076 the idea is to find different types if this knife is not for you. Rather than say X knife is better than Y knife. Make a list and see what options are available to everyone from an adult to a preteen.
Beautifully demonstrated, gentlemen. The price-point is steep, but the: size/shape, double-edge, and carry location is definitely a game-changer.
The car fight looked like a very romantic moment very awkward when he said i can pull it out. Great information 😀
Craig is so Cerebral in his speech . i love it its like a physicist / Doctor teaching you about self defense
Great knife. It takes a lot of training to not put your thumb out on the blade. It's unusual with a blade that small to not reinforce it with your thumb thinking the edge is on the outside. I've heard that's the number one issue. From experience you have to train with it first for sure.
My experience in NYC tells me this Instructer has some good stuff/experience. Great Video and thanks for sharing!
13:24 At this point John was no longer invited to ride with me to lunch. 😂
It worked out, we both rode with another dude to lunch. 🤣 Great training with you John.
I closed my eyes with this line... Mmmhh 😂😂

Takes me some time but in here I found what is used the word "poet". Inspirational way, I love it.
Wow.. These videos are priceless! John, Craig, yall are amazing! Thank You
Hi, Mr.Cirilo roger that outstanding-videos!
More importantly, where can I find a man who looks at me the same way john looks at craig?
Tinder
Grinder
Who gets on you the same way too, all close 😂😂😂
I do pikiti tersia and I just fell in love with a new blade.. thanks.... gonna send the link to my wife... birthday coming soon.
That was simply a great freaking video! I really enjoyed that!!!!!!!
One gal watches. Too funny, but that damn knife and his techniques make sense. Definitely going to order one.
Thanks for the shout out from the One Lady who watches. Really enjoyed this with the demonstrations. It was from Warrior Poet videos that I first learned about Craig D.
Camera guy, when changing angles like that you don’t need to change mics just sync it...
Plus John had the upper hand in knowing the knife was there and what his opponent was trying to do exactly so still impressive cause he gave John every advantage
Nice knife. HEMA - Historical European Martial Arts...these folks are recreating European fighting systems from hundreds of years of historical manuals, treatises, and archaeological data; most with various hand weapons and grappling.

@@shauser1926 Nobody cares fam
LOL Love how John jumps at him at any moment when Craig is talking and explaining his methods... His expressions are priceless
John, HE DID IT BRO! President Trump signed a notice to the US senate, to cancel ratification of the UN Small Arms Treaty! He signed it in front of the crowd at the NRA Leadership Forum during his speech yesterday!
The pen he signed it with was tossed to fellow Poet wearing our colors! I chatted with him today for awhile. He bought me skittles. I ate all of them. Way to go Trump on crushing that outrageous agreement
This is news to me, I'm glad to hear it.
Yes, by now everyone knows that the word and bond of the USA is worth nothing. But hey, enjoy your small victory.

I lean more towards a Colonel Blade, but in any case an edged weapon can be a great asset in the right hands. Thanks for the vid!
I do not believe those will be for sale anymore
That guy doesn’t have to say a word and you know he’s the baddest guy in the room
Most special forces do not like to be grappling in a close clinch or close quarters. Excellent video!
@@nomdemorte1302 Yes that is true, I have been trained in Kali using the karambit and this K bar TDI is real close to a Karambit
Good stuff. Thanks for your knowlege. Got my clinch pick today from WPS. It's frikkin' awesome. Thanks guys.
Where's the librarian from videos past? Looks like hard work is paying off.
Love this blade. Hell,I need this not ok nay for the obvious reasons. This would work amazing as a seat belt cutter. I operate heavy equipment and this would be a life saver in the event of a roll over. Love the channel and all of your content. Thank you.
Awesome video good work man!
I'm glad you touched on what happens in a dojo doesn't always translate to the street. I remember in high school two guys got in a fight in the cafeteria bathroom. One was some crazy karate black belt could do all kinds of fancy flips and kicks. The other guy was just a brawler from a bad neighborhood. In the narrow bathroom hallway karate boy wasn't able to do anything his experience was all in a dojo on a mat. Needless to say the other guy double legged him and busted his head on the floor followed by a few punches to the nose and it was done. Karate boy didn't know what hit him
Here in the UK we use a kitchen knife very effectively 😂😂
Top video! This is why I only carry double edged blades for self defense, that extra bit of versatility can save your life.
