This is fantastic. I am looking forward to recreating this project. Can you provide links to all the items required to complete this? Build plans? 3D designs for the parts to be printed? Those would all be greatly appreciated. Tx!
Hello.. this video is too great.. I tried to make this.. I'm Beginner in this designing fild but I want to make this for my telescope.. Please, can you share these printing files?
There seems to be something wrong with this. If the bearings are part of a cone, and that is placed at latitude angle, why aren't the circle bottoms on the same plane? its as if the entire cone is tilted forward
Because the rear circle can be a smaller diameter than the cone as long as it's axis is on the polar axis. It's generally made smaller to make clearance for the bearings.
Hey John, I'm from Brisbane and am looking to make an equatorial platform for my 10 inch dob. Luckily enough that means basically my parameters would be the same as yours. You wouldn't happen to still have the STLs for this would you?
Thanks for make this video! My Dobson has a diameter of 5kmm, my latitude is 20 degrees; how do I calculate the radius & distance of the two inclined circles? I supposed this affects the center of balance, too much questions ...
Wow I love the vns as the building and the operation become easier! Well done! I'm thinking of making a few changes to adapt it to my needs. Is there any chance to share the acad file? Thanks
@@tagrii2885 can you share a little no to where you posted the files please? I'd love to try it out first on my pc an then take it to the shop nearby to cut it out and fit it with the motor. Thanks again for the inspiration!!!
They need to be perpendicular to a line drawn from where the south bearing (ie cone tip) would be if only one bearing was used. So the cone angle must be 22.6 degrees in his case.
Excellent work. I can now see why VNS COne Sectors have to be angled to fit inside the cone

Thank you for sharing ! I followed your CN forums and will try to build one !
Incredible job. Can you give me more information about the dc motor, controller and the gear mechanism. Thanks.
Can you give 3d document file
Awesome job :) Saw this on CN forums...
Is there somewhere i could get the actual build plans/component list for this?
It is awesome, please, share the plans.

bonjour as tu fabrique les secteur nord sud toi meme? si oui, aurais tu les fichiers stl car je ne trouve rien sur net.merci
Hi. I would like to ask you about how to know how big are the circles we need. thank you!!
Beautiful work, give me handbook.
How did you draw the sketch at first?
You are my hero!!! Wonderfull!!

hey man just looking to see if you ever got this working, I'm also in Brisbane and would like to build this for my 8inch Dobson. cheers
Did you print the white drive wheel yourself too and added a rubber O-ring?

Looks like they wont say so you buy their thing. The angle is 90 degrees-your latitude
Where are the 3D print plans for this?
Wow

You must change the angle of the polaris line. Try to put your latitude angle and copy all the manipulation. Good luck :)

@@actudoran yes sure, you can add me on Instagram if you want talk more about that

How do you determine the 11.3 degree angle and how did you determine the ellipse dimensions?
They need to be perpendicular to a line drawn from where the south bearing (ie cone tip) would be if only one bearing was used. So the cone angle must be 22.6 degrees in his case.
