I have already submitted response of notice 139(9) in may 2021 on time but now I see(in portal) that the uploaded XML rectified return is invalid despite that the mail from the income tax says that no further action is needed from me. Why did this happen? What should I do now?

1The details of tax payment under section 140B are not provided in the above-mentioned updated return. Hence, the updated return is declared as invalid because the indicated defect, i.e. return is not accompanied by the proof of payment of tax as required u/s 140B, has not been rectified even after providing opportunity to rectify the defect in accordance with section 139(9). Further, the updated return is deemed to have never been filed.
Note: An opportunity was given to you to correct the defects of the return in accordance with section 139(9) and the present communication is being sent after taking into consideration taxpayer response, if any.

Sir, I filled itr for A/Y2021-2022 on 30th Nov21. But while filling return i had showen earning of interest in savings interest instead of FD interest head.Due to this mistake i could not get TDS refund which was dedued by Bank on FD interest. Can i fill rectification?

Very useful information sir. Mujhe bhi defective return 139(9) ka notice mila hai but email rcv na honee ki wajah se mujhe pata nhi chal paya . Ab maine check kiya to pta laga. Kya abhi bhi response submit kar sakte hai ya nhi. Isme submit response ke option par click karne par bhi koi action nhi ho raha hai. Plz bataye sir

Namaste Sir, I recd intimation under 139(9) for original return filed in July 22 for fy 21-22.
As per intimation date (11-11-22)
15 days allowed upto 26-11-22.
My CA was out, couldn't file Revised return upto 26-11-22.
He filed Revised return under 139(5) instead of 139(9) on 29-11-22.(after 15 days period)
Revised return is accepted online but again I received another intimation under 143(1) to pay interest & penalty of rs. 7110/-

Sir maine apne 48000 tds ke refund ke liye itr fill kiya tha but muje 139 (9) ka notice mila jab maine account main jakr pending action check kiya. Muje koi mail receive nhi hui. Notice ke last date 6 aug thi. Ab kya karu plz guide me.

Sir but if we dont give reply to notice u/s 139(9) which gives us 15 days time nor we revised the return within this 15 days time our return will be considered as invalid return and also the due date of return filing of original return is over. So will the time limit to revise u/s 139(5) be useful? As if the original return is an invalid return. So we would have to file fresh return u/s 139(4) right? I.e before 31/12. Can you please guide me on this.

U/s 139 (4)) me file kore
Sir ek ishue h mera ek return ay 2020-21 ka ka file kiya gya tha jiska 139(9) ke notice aaya tha sep me reason 26as ke income nahi liya gya tha aur galat itr form v file kiya gya tha , then now 139(9) ka response date v nikal chuka hai ur response submitted option v disable ho chuka hai ur jo refund tha wo v disallow kar diya gya then ab kya karen plz suggest and give me solutions
Now you have no option other than to wait for another notice under section 139 of income Tax act once you get it you main reply well in time and page do not ignore the notice
