Join the Brainbox Initiative for a webinar on Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Tinnitus: Rationale, Current Stage of Research and Future Perspectives.
Pathological alterations associated with the emergence and maintenance of a phantom sound perception termed tinnitus provide a significant leverage point for the application of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Although a large body of fundamental and clinical investigations, there is still disagreement about its effectiveness for the treatment of tinnitus. Besides a short introduction about tinnitus, an overview of neurophysiological pathologies as well as the rationale behind the application of rTMS as a treatment option for tinnitus, this webinar will focus on the current stage of investigation, challenges identified and future perspectives.
