The moment Gundo grabbed Carol hand, her arc was complete. It is a clear sign that she views Carol as a dear friend.
Unfortunately that's exactly it.her motivations, her character development isn't focused much compared to the main couple. Even after like 900+ chapters
It also shows how socially aware Carol had become then she attempted to leave out of consideration.

Out of all the developments in this cast,the one between Misuzu and Carol is my favorite. She went from despising her to actually caring about her a lot as a friend and you can see it by how she treats Carol when she tries to hug her.
I wonder why, its almost as if she kept pushing carols till she finally hit carol in her weakspot causing her to finally break to a lvl tht even she never thought carol could

Your comment is mildly confusing. She's a tomboy and she doesn't like to admit it, but she feels uncomfortable when she tries to act "girly". Jun doesn't love her for acting like most girls anyway, after all, she's the reason he got into martial arts.

Tomo is truly not like other girls, and she doesn't have to be for Jun because that's the person he fell in love with. An example Jun's bad date with Gundou. He was doing stuff Tomo would have wanted but Gundou hated.

Damn even Carol, who is usually all smiles, is shocked that Misuzu started crying.
Man this is so deep... She noticed that Jun loved Tomo just the way she was he just needed to clear his mind... And I think that's a strong message for the entire show... Girls can be pretty on their own way you don't need tk be girly or be a tomboy to make him notice you you just need to be yourself and when someone loves your REAL SELF that's the right person... This gets specially strong with the final episode "but couples don't do that kind of stuff" but we aren't like those couples! We are different AND THAT'S OKAY
i love how Carol is treated like that typical funny and chaotic dumb character in this show, but in the more serious moments she always knows how to do things smoothly and read the mood, unlike others that fit her trope. as soon as Misuzu said she had something to say she stood up. They didn't have her say anything, didn't have to let us hear her thoughts, it just showed clearly that she is an actual human who really cares about her friends
It's sad we can't have more Tomo... this season start and close the story all in once!

After Tomo's mistake on Junichiro about her appearance went wrong, Misuzu wanted her and Carol to listen to her confession about her fault. 1:02. 😔.

But Tomo being girly didn't put Jun back, he was internally freaking out every time she showed some strongly feminine behaviour or cloths, they are taking wrong lessons based on wrongly interpreted signals.
Mmhmm, and while Misuzu meant well, she just failed to think of how Tomo would take her advice since she values her advice as her friend big time.
@@BryonYoungblood it became self reinforcining Gundo couldn't refuse when Tomo was asking her about help with being more feminine, and Tomo wanted to be more feminine becouse Gundo suggested it to her and she took it seriously.

@@simon2493 Exactly what I was saying. And like you said, Simon, Jun was more or less really surprised by what he saw when seeing Tomo being more feminine due to her taking Misuzu's advice to heart.
The only flaw is Misuzu never told Tomo she is fine as she is. The whole episodes thats been going on was because Misuzu decide to toy with Tomo and Jun. She did wanted to help Tomo, but she always knew Tomo is perfectly fine as she is. But refuses to say it, making her believe Jun is into girls thats feminine.
She eventually starts to feel bad after Tomo shows how much she cares for her as best friends, this scene finally shows Misuzu no longer being the devil in the scene. She finally let Tomo be with Jun, letting her know she is perfectly fine as she is.
So great. Although this story is about Jun and Tomo, Misuzu character growth is so wonderful. Her crying here really brings it home.

That ep was so epic with the reactions Tomo and Jun had when they made the conversations about Love,No classic dizzy or blushes ,just straight up saying and realizing each other feelings was SUCH a good moment
Now, that’s a sight that I thought that I’d NEVER see from Misuzu. This is DEFINITELY a moment that’s truly worthy of a future Anime Award here!
I never excepted Misuzu show her moment of emotions like this from the start of her tears appear for the first time, Misuzu always believed in Tomo is going to be the one who confess her love to Jun and succeed everything she got. That’s the moment of friendship arc between Misuzu, Carol, and Tomo in this episode of the story. 😊🥲👏
I don't know whos' development I love more, Misuzu's for learning to share her emotions and rely on Carol, who she clearly sees as a close friend now, or Carol for having the social awareness to step away from a clearly personal conversation, AND stay when she realizes Misuzu needs her there for support.

The point of the show was to make Jun think of her as more than a friend, they thought it was because he flat out didn't see her as a girl but now we know that is not true
She didn't need to change for Jun to notice her! He's just dense as hell. The girls just misinterpreted and thought that for Jun to see Tomo as a girl that she needed to act like one when really he had known her all along as a girl and was struggling to internalize his feelings towards her (as he's, you know, dense as hell)

These are the kind of friends. Even if they are separated as they grow up or get married living their own lives. Would still come to each other beck and call when one is in trouble.
This episode pushed too many emotions from Gundou 😂
We’ve seen misuzu’s neutral face, Angry face, “Just done” face, Sad and worried face, devious face, disgusted face and now we have her Sad face.
(I’m not counting the smile face she had at the ramen shop. That was a facade. It has to genuine to count. Also i wonder if their will be a season 2 maybe 3. Idk, but i really enjoyed this show.)

I feel like Misuzu was wearing a headband for a while through out the series. I can’t remember is she was or not, i’ll have to rewatch to figure it out and remember.
Also after rewatching this clip, i saw the happy face so it counts now.

Misuzu showing her vulnerable side to Tomo and Carol was the best part of this series. While I'm a little underwhelmed by the anime adaption overall, this scene was done very well.
I just realized that carol and azami are the only two people out of everyone we see regularly that have any sense of how people feel till this moment.

Misuzu is amazing, and even more in this part where she confessed it ❤
Throughout the whole show, Misuzu is torn between wanting to indulge a little in her feelings for Tomo and act act as her best friend by helping Tomo and Jun confront their own feelings for eachother. She knows letting her go is best for both of them, but it still hurts yo.
Misuzu imo really elevates the whole show into being memorable. She's the one pushing the narrative along, she works to prevent a lot of the cliche misunderstandings from happening, and her conflict is the most engaging and feels way more developed than what we typically see from romcom friends.

On the one hand, I am glad this was only 13 episodes. Kept the pace brisk, every episode was great and look like it will have a satisfying conclusion.
On the other hand, I do wish aat times this was a longer season

I would prefer they stay out of japan, they really dont have any pull whether there is a season 2. they simply distribute it, not make it. I think you should directing your "listen to me" towards places like TOEI and Mappa, not Fuckyroll.
Can someone clarify this for me because me and my friend watched Tomo-Chan is a girl and we both have very different opinions on Misuzu's actions/intentions.
I always saw it as Misuzu sees her and Tomo as very different people with different interests/hobbies. She's afraid she'll loose Tomo as a friend so to keep Tomo, she made up that Tomo should be girlier so Tomo can continue to need to interact with her for advice.
My friend thinks that Misuzu likes Jun and she's just doing this to make Tomo more like her because she knows Jun doesn't like her; therefore, wont like the new Tomo. She also did state at one point she doesn't really want Jun and Tomo to get together. I personally think this still ties with my view that she thinks if Tomo and Jun starts dating, she'll loose Tomo again.
Let me know what you guys think or if you agree with one of our views.

That's the kind of deep discussion we usually don't expect to see in anime. They spent the whole season showing Misuzu, the most intelligent character in the anime, trying to make Tomo look more feminine to impress Jun. We knew that it's not right to advise people to change that much to be loved, but we accepted it since this was the theme of the show. And now, in the end, they bless us with this plot twist. Tomo could date Jun while being herself and Misuzu strengthened her bonds with her
I love how Carol seems dense as a box of bricks, yet has the social awareness to know to try to leave when a serious conversation between two people who've known each other longer than they've known her is about to happen.
I believe it was necessary for Tomo to be girly to set the can to roll, but she shouldn't have force it too much.

Never thought I'd see the day where Misuzu cries. Tomo and Jun are finally gonna become a couple, but there's only one episode left, meaning that they can't be a couple unless Jun surpasses one final obstacle standing in their way: A certain someone who forbids Tomo to make love with Jun.
Tomo's father and btw it aslo left this tasteless regadless since we don't seen these two as a couple
Misuzu & Jun's relationship does not fit each other, because their personalities are different. Jun has a very active personality, he & Tomo had similar interests. Misuzu is a very low key & joker face personality, she has nothing to comment with Jun on any of the activity. They are together fighting or disagreeing with each other, ready they are not a match couple. Jun & Misuzu's break up is good for them, Jun & Misuzu their relationship only to be friends not love couples.

Anyway I really liked the romance in this anime because its was not that kind of romance compared to the others anime n I think it was very rare to see a comedy romance like this today n it was never boring to watch the series n what a great character development especially for Jun n Gundou.But the series kinda became over in a just a little episodes left from what we see for the character confession,development n the story.
