I'm a huge fan and will definitely buy the new album when it comes out. This is amazing can't wait! Been listening to these guys since 04 when they came out! Oh, and no one is going to take the video down. Someone will upload it even more. Stop complaining and enjoy the music for what it is. By the way, love the guitar refrain in the middle. AMAZING.
This song is actually one big reference to Martin Luther King Jr. Much of it is taken from portions of his speeches, the chorus coming from "We owe this to ourselves to end racism in our time and our country." Listen for other references with the words "bullet" "King" and "dream". I think this song does a great job of starting things off for an album about having honest relationships with one another.
I heard this song on Shift 2 and I was like, "Is that Anberlin? That has to be?". than I looked it up and what do you know, it is anberlin. Awesome band
This song is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr, and was originally called "King". The title line is from a speech he gave saying, "We Owe This To Ourselves- to end racism in our time." The first verse is inspired by a letter he wrote in which he predicted his own death, and expressed fear that the movement might end with his passing. Anberlin wrote this in the spirit of keeping on his work and ideas- "We can't just let this go!" Listen for other references in "bullets" "King" and "dream"
GOOSH THIS IS LIKE MY FIFTH COMMENT HERE SAYING I CANNOT FRIGGIN WAIT!! SAW THEM LIVE IN SWEDEN AND GOT A TSHIRT SIGN AND SPOKE WITH STEPHEN EVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was there!! in the front. So amazing! btw cities is the best record yet..at least till this one comes out. Cities is like an orchestra playing until the end
@sittingonacactus 100% agree with you. Cities is probably my favorite album by Anberlin, but i guess the different sides of them is what makes their music unique
I dunno what you lots of you guys are saying. They're bringing back their older sound but putting a new twist on it. This is an amazing song/album. If you guys lose interest in this band 'cause of the sound then you obviously haven't been following from the beginning. This KICKS ASS!
@FlanoMerkin I was pretty disappointed when I first got the album, too... It's grown on me a bit and I really like it now, but I still like their older albums a lot more.
@Hero1138 It's about the Civil Rights movement. "If every Man became a KING" "We could do more than just DREAM". You know the figure of speech "he's a Benedict Arnold"? same thing here. Civil Rights never really ended it just faded from public view. Hence, this song
I am so relieved to hear this! I really REALLY did not like New Surrender at all, so to hear this, it gives me hope that they learned from that mistake, and are going back to they creative style, of Cities, that took a lot of thought to make happen!
@devynmapes I torrent pretty much all of my music, and Cities is one of the only albums I've ever actually bought in my life. Cities was fantastic. I hope this is more in that vein.
@Novationband I agree. Cities is definitely their best album to date and I think their sound with Tooth and Nail is much better than on Universal. New Surrender sounded pop and a bit too mainstream when they obviously do the dark stuff well. This album is supposed to be darker though, and I hope we hear some of the deeper lyrics like on Cities. I also think that their singles tend to be not as good as the rest of the songs, but we'll see when the album comes out.
@brianjustbrian there's nothing wrong with claiming a favorite album. Their "best" album will always be subjective from listener to listener. I favor cities the most simply because it was so full of creativity and was very aesthetic. It was full of amazing writing and creative ideas. New Surrender (I think) was great, but more thin and catered to a mainstream audience (by universal records). after all, the goal is to attract as many listeners as possible (from a business standpoint).
How did you find suck an amazing quality recording? video is amazing! Not sure about the song, I'm sure it will grow on me as all of their records have
took we 7 years to find this song, all thanks to shift 2 unleashed, and also, i found the song "levitate" overthere, now hollywood undead is my favorite band
@kevmonty14 Well, we agree to disagree. Coming from a musical standpoint, and being a musician, Cities is far more complex than most cds out there. You can ask any musician and they will say the same thing. Every song on that album was thought out to its fullest. They will never make another album like Cities. Oh and why do you think Cities makes all the lists?
@ajrapps Not irl, they got a new style. I saw them live tonight, the vocalist looks really charming and wow he has such charisma.. Almost at Chris Martins level from Coldplay.
I think Cities is their best collection so far, however, I think New Surrender had their best work on it, like The Resistance, Disappear, Soft Skeletons, and especially Miserable Visu (Ex Malo Bonum) which is a contender for their best song in my opinion
Hahaha, holy shit i see myself. Mr. Smalls sold out before we got there, but Story of the Year didn't show so we eventually bought tickets out in the rain.
@atomicfriendo you're just everywhere around anberlin on youtube, aren't you? you're obsessed. in love with every song you claim 'sucks.' this amuses me.
i was wondering about how bad music is today. This song has ONLY 44K views and Lady gaga has millions..... We owe this to ourselves to stop all this pop shit and hear the real shit - thanks anberlin - see you in Richmond in Jan 2011
@RuggerLikeWhoa There was nothing wrong with New Surrender, but yeah I have a feelings its going to be an AMAZING album. I can't stop thinking about it! 1 MONTH BABY!
We own these duracells
Veriies now that’s all I hear.....
Just heard these guys for the first time today and loved their music right away...
This song is really growing on me....awesome!
So amazing. I love them, old or new it's always good and worth looking forward to.
This song is amazing. Their sound and Stephen's vocals are unreal. September can't come soon enough
AMAZING
This is a really, really great song and so are their other new ones. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEIR NEW ALBUM!!!
AMAZING.

Another SICK SICK Anberlin CD. They Never Let Down!!
This song is actually one big reference to Martin Luther King Jr. Much of it is taken from portions of his speeches, the chorus coming from "We owe this to ourselves to end racism in our time and our country." Listen for other references with the words "bullet" "King" and "dream".

Heck yea, cities was such a good album, so pumped for anberlin's next. It's supposed to be some what darker than the others, I'm so stoked!
they owe it to themselves, rock on guys!!!
This song is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr, and was originally called "King". The title line is from a speech he gave saying, "We Owe This To Ourselves- to end racism in our time." @sittingonacactus 100% agree with you. Cities is probably my favorite album by Anberlin, but i guess the different sides of them is what makes their music unique

Shift 2 is a game
Need for Speed Shift 2
excellent
I lost them after New Surrender, it looks like this album is bringing me back though :)
I dunno what you lots of you guys are saying. They're bringing back their older sound but putting a new twist on it. This is an amazing song/album. If you guys lose interest in this band 'cause of the sound then you obviously haven't been following from the beginning. This KICKS ASS!
AMAZING SONG! AWWWW :3
Unleashed!
O.O Whoa. I love Anberlin, but I wouldn't go this far. You just gotta ignore all those stupid trolls that are trying to make people angry.
Need for Speed Shift 2, I haven't played it yet, but i came here cause of Anberlin!
-Clayton

Impossible is a fantastic song from this upcoming album too.
yay bad ass im soo gettin tha new cd whenever it com es out

♥_♥ love you anberlin awesome song :D ♥_♥
Whoah...
I love this album, but it's too short!!
I'm looking forward to the darker side of anberlin. More of what we saw on Cities, not that I don't like the other albums, but Cities blows my mind.
Anberlin is still so awesome even after 4 CDs...a fifth on the way (obviously).
This will probably be removed, but Imma favorite it anyway ^^
Since I played Shift 2 Unleashed, man I am searching all over the place to get all of its soundtracks.
@FlanoMerkin I was pretty disappointed when I first got the album, too... It's grown on me a bit and I really like it now, but I still like their older albums a lot more.
This song is so fuckin' awesome.... Congrats from a french guy....
@Hero1138 It's about the Civil Rights movement. "If every Man became a KING" "We could do more than just DREAM". You know the figure of speech "he's a Benedict Arnold"? same thing here. Civil Rights never really ended it just faded from public view. Hence, this song
i've just gotta say that the piano at 2:17 is ridiculously amazing
It's a racing video game. My boyfriend loves it!
reminds me of that RepoMan show. you owe this to ur family. you owe this to urself
filmed at an old church thats now a music venue in millvale, just outside Pittsburgh pa
To me the lead singer is pretty attractive. Plus beauty isn't the main thing about a man, it's in his actions and spirit.
@cooltheo92 they pushed up the date, it's now coming out on Sept. 7!!!
I am so relieved to hear this! I really REALLY did not like New Surrender at all, so to hear this, it gives me hope that they learned from that mistake, and are going back to they creative style, of Cities, that took a lot of thought to make happen!
Like years before.
I'm awesome because I was there
why is this video so underwatched?
@devynmapes I torrent pretty much all of my music, and Cities is one of the only albums I've ever actually bought in my life. Cities was fantastic. I hope this is more in that vein.

SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED!
OMG i love his high pitched voice...
I actually dont know the band...
but i love the frontman that looks like ROB. Williams and Elvis hahaha...
lead singer with no eyebrows!
wicked song.
Yes, Shift 2: Unleashed :)
@xadamritterx he posted another members upload, one which is unlisted and only available to view if you have the link...
took we 7 years to find this song, all thanks to shift 2 unleashed, and also, i found the song "levitate" overthere, now hollywood undead is my favorite band
go listen to Levitate by Twenty-one Pilots. It's better
Shift 2 or not either way more fans for Anberlin
Cities was the best album to date. But anberlin dosent put out bad music, every cd they have made is awesome I just prefer some stuff over others.
Don't stick it in your heads that Cities is their best album. If you do, you won't enjoy the others as much, especially the ones coming.
@ajrapps Not irl, they got a new style. I saw them live tonight, the vocalist looks really charming and wow he has such charisma.. Almost at Chris Martins level from Coldplay.
I think Cities is their best collection so far, however, I think New Surrender had their best work on it, like The Resistance, Disappear, Soft Skeletons, and especially Miserable Visu (Ex Malo Bonum) which is a contender for their best song in my opinion
love this song even though its not that new
@atomicfriendo what kind of music do you listen to ?
@cabber91 They posted this on their Twitter a couple weeks ago. He/she probably just grabbed it from there.
This new album is gonna be way better than the disappointing "New Surrender".
thumbs up if you loved Anberlin before Shift 2! :P
@felipee911 These are called bridges, most songs have them, it's just that this one doesn't have vocals in it so it sounds like a "break". ?
so you say anberlin sucks.now tell me more about how one direction is so awesome
Hahaha, holy shit i see myself. Mr. Smalls sold out before we got there, but Story of the Year didn't show so we eventually bought tickets out in the rain.
He's rockin' out the short hair c:
@atomicfriendo you're just everywhere around anberlin on youtube, aren't you? you're obsessed. in love with every song you claim 'sucks.' this amuses me.

@RuggerLikeWhoa There was nothing wrong with New Surrender, but yeah I have a feelings its going to be an AMAZING album. I can't stop thinking about it!
