No one can put you in your place with more class and style than this man and his sarcastic lyrics some as sharp as the notes he plays on his guitar but that's what makes him one of the best ........"Look here Sugar Lips ,I will never ever be your fool !"

I've owned it since it was released. Just played it now. Looking at the vinyl, it's obvious I've played this song most. Keep looking. I have to learn how to upload....

I asked when he changed it on the Bromberg question site. They ignore me. And,yeah,in the day I did not think much of it but I'm glad its gone.

Still great but it peaked in the late 70's & early 80's. Loved the line about picking up your princess telephone, asking for the time and calculating it to the last G-d damn minute. Also That F dead was making fun of gays it was just unexpected and perfect timing after so many I'll see his lover dead. Pure comedy. Still I can see why he doesn't do that line anymore.

I will see your hairdresser and your Vietnamese nail technician girl dead before I will be your fool (my suggested lyric).
"I will see the laws of gravity and physics REPEALED" (before I Will be your fool) - David Bromberg - An actual lyric he used to use on stage in the early days of this song, that he really ought to bring back.)

@babsinjrzy I had it on vinyl. When they released the cd of it they made it two very expensive singles. I bought the studio cd. Although I yearn for the live one. And you are right, its the definitive version despite the liberal use of the word faggot in it. You'll notice he edited that out for the 2011 version.

This is the politically correct version. He got rid of the his lover dead, his lover dead, his lover dead etc.
Saw him perform this in Shelton, Ct around 1979 and during the guitar solo he played with this teeth. Only time in about 100 shows I saw him do that.
