Would not consider rook for minor piece trade a sacrifice, i would call it a move to bring imbalance to the position. Rooks are most of the time only good in endgames, and sacrificing them during early to mid game i would not call that impressive. Its simply to get rid of a not so useful piece and create imbalances in the position
@@jordyguemo123 its only worth more in the end game, and very few occasions in the mid/late game. Just saying, i do not respect rook sacks at all and dont find em even slightly impressive. I do that almost all the time in my games to create imbalance
@@jordyguemo123 true, but rook sacks are literally the lamest of all sacrifices. I think even sacrificing one pawn is even more impressive than a rook sac. Also, even if magnus sacrifices his queen for my rook in a game vs him, i would still lose horribly. So your point means nothing
The point was to infiltrate the second rank which then allows black to mount an attack on the white king after ensuring that the black king is not exposed to any counter-attacks
DJ needs to get a taller table
Where was Magnus shocked? I didn’t see.
I swear I havent watched this video before but Gigi's Time was also playing
2:48 did he say " attacco " in italian?
also spanish
“Shocked”
Opponent probably cheated. No one is allowed to beat Magnus.
Где стримить Магнус??? Пж ответьте
Хикару на Twitch вторники пилит на 10к фоллов
Где Магнус не знаю..
Может, местный Скандинавский какой 🤔
idk why you say he's a cheater. he played sensible human moves plus Magnus played a risky opening.
Who tf are u talking to? No one said he was a cheater. Take ur meds
You missed a one move check mate dude!!!
It's not a hard sacrifice to find, it's rook for bishop+pawn+initiative. I would see it, but probably I would fail miserably in the continuation.
Ok GM.
You wouldn't even last long enough to get to that position 😂

Name of the song anybody?
I think it’s called Truffled Nutts

A rook is worth more material than a minor piece, which makes it a material sacrifice, doesn’t matter what you consider it

@@FantasyFantasy934 For you it only works because you are not playing against GM’s, your rook sacks would be punished hard by Magnus

But, was there a point to the sacrifice?

Hee missed the checkmate!
The kibg was trapped with tge pawn, bishop, pawn he queen should have moved his queen
Where?
if you are talking about at around 6:45, it isn't checkmate, because after Qc8, black can just play Bf8.
@@Jedimastermitchexactly, ty
Magnus lost 😂😂
wow he didn't see the back rank check mate.
There was never a back rank checkmate
Bishop protects mate.
Cheater
