Am currently honing my animation skills. I found that these voice lines from the Twilight Highlands quest line were a good opportunity to practice my facial animation which I am still new at.
During the events of Cataclysm in 2009, Alexstrasza summons Deathwing (Neltharion) to the border of the Vermillion Redoubt to end his rampant destruction of Azeroth. Infused with the power of the old gods, he proves to be a difficult adversary.

how did you animate the characters?traditional motion capture? ai pose extrapolation? just IK and lots and lots of keyframes?

The purple glow seeping through the armor as Deathwing draws upon the power of shadowflame, before proceeding to absolutely roast Alexstrasza with said Shadowflame, was an excellent touch.
Oh my god, this is awesome! Well done with the purple effects for Deathwing. This was a great fan cinematic.

Always loved this specific scene from Twilight Highlands. Always wished we got more interactions between Deathwing and his fellow Aspects, especially after Dragonflight.
is it possible for them to, what's the word... revamp the Cataclysm expansion and give us more than we got originally? I know it might require some sort of temporary server shutdown, but it could be worth the effort if they were to do it right

The way he catches his breath after laughing; its beautiful.
This proves that even edgy dialogue like that can make things interesting if everything surrounding the dialogue is good. Now I'm imagining Wrath with cinematics like these.
I wanna see tirion call for his final blessing to shatter frostmourne. Still one of my absolute favourites next to illidan rejecting the gift of light.

I went through Antorus and Argus recently and homy fuck was the atmosphere insane for that raid no matter how hard and balls to the walls it was.
My favorite Raid to ever be in fact. It actually felt like if we didn't win it was the end of the world and shit was about to go wrong.

Dude I haven't played WoW since early Shadowlands and this gave me shivers! I know Cata wasn't great but Neltharion/Deathwing makes an awesome villain. His voice and that soundtrack just feels WoW to me
Part of the reason why Cata was so underwhelming is because of how underused Deathwing was. I don't think they even used his human form at all, maybe once.

It's why the boss "Echo of Neltharion" is my favourite boss in the Aberrus raid. It is good to hear him again, but without the echo.

Love it! Though, I would have loved it if at the start Deathwing flied into the scene with his dragon form and transformed before beginning his speech. A few of close-up shots of Alexstrasza's facial expressions and some movements between poses could have used a tiny bit more polish. Besides that, the animation is really good. I absolutely love the way you animated Deathwing, especially the laughter and final scream. The wilting flower and purple fire were excellent additions along with the camera shots like the dead dragon. Really good stuff! :)

My jaw is absolutely on the floor, you have single handedly done better work on this than blizzard themselves! The voice actors deliveries here are given so much power behind FANTASTIC visuals and I feel like I’ve just put glasses on for the first time again!! And the SOUND eugh those crackling noises as Deathwing moves is SUCH a great detail. Bones? Fire? Probably both and it’s horrid to listen to 👏 and rip to your RAM rendering that last blast because holy shit that was such an awesome shot

That was absolutely incredible! This is almost on par with the real stuff. I love the shot of the red flower wilting away revealing Deathwing, great cinematography and symbolism there. It also helps that the original voice acting, especially for Deathwing is really good, too.
“Almost” on par? This is so much better than the ingame Cataclysm scene, there’s no comparison at all.

Holy shit, everything rom :50 onwards is glorious, so much emotion and life given to the characters and the scene its self. WoW cinematics haven't got that ''Fuck yeah!'' arm punch these days. Theyre all slow talking, slow turns. ''What... have you.... DONE?'' - ''Nozdormo...is... no more... ONly...Murozond exists!''
Edit: I just noticed that the purple attack is Shadowflame, good scene/world building right there.

After the boring cinematics Dragonflight, this cinematic feels so great. Would like to see something similar for Cataclysm or other expansions. Amazing work!

Pretty cool stuff, my only issue would be the body language, it's quite over the top imo, I feel like sometime less is more . Aside from that, kuddos on giving a much deserved cinematic to this scene.
Can you make a honorable cinematic of Tirion Fordring's death please. I think he deserved more.

This why i like Cata, story wise it was best expasnion (at least for me)
Awesome work! The VFX for the initial transition into void could've been tweaked slightly; like making a spline/path to trace the "energy" and make it seem as if its' coming from his *veins* . But all in all, the camera work is especially good! Love it :) *This* , is more of what I wish more artists would do rather than jumping straight to photorealistic-animations. In the time you churn out 1x 2min CGI scene, you would've produced perhaps +5x 2min in-game ones, as most of what you'll worry about is your rigging and not - render times ;D
**(and ALL the baked in sims for fluid/smoke/etc to the same degree)

Epic....it also reminded me Thralls encounter with the archbishop ( due to the music background i think) for the soulstone. Cant remember his name 🤔. Hopefully we see that encounter cinematic as well ❤.

Increadible, just increadible. Only the first shot at Alex talking is too long in the same shot, should have been more zoomed in at one point. The wow are more close-up centered I think
I would LOVE to see you try your hand at turning the end sequence from the Lich King fight in to a cutscene as well. I'm referring to his monologue after kills the raid and tries to turn us followed by Tirion destroying Frostmourne. Make it transition in to the existing end cinematic for bonus points.
