- Courtney Bodett said his wife went to Graham to check in on a family home last night, but then things took an expected turn when a kitten popped up.
“When she approached it, it was friendly,” Bodett said. “Then all of the other cats came out of the bushes at her, and the next thing I knew I was getting a phone call from her, saying, ‘we got nine cats.”
The Bodetts decided to bring the cats to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, but they were concerned that there might not be room.
Currently, the animal shelter is caring for more than 700 animals, putting them at capacity.

My problem with the animal shelter is they're asking too much money out of my pocket to rescue the animal
Vet bill for pet care is crazy too…people getting priced out for fur baby companionship.
Interesting, but when you go to the website they don't have any animals listed and just have a phone number.
Pierce County isn't trying hard to adopt the animals out.
I live in low income place and they have a weight limit of 20 lbs for dogs. And little to no place for them to do their business. Everybody has to pick up ( which I agree with) . But some seniors don't, or can't. Plus the cost of litter, food, etc was too much for me.
It would be nice if it was a little more affordable to spay and neuter pets. I have unfixed female cats and they never go outside.
At least spay and neuter them animals if you're gonna be mean and dump them outside! Ugh!
I do agree no pet should be ditched outside however the cost to get an animal fixed is really high and if a family can't afford food and litter they sure can't afford roughly $150 to gst them fixed.
Humans have no humanity
