Private schools in Cali do have one advantage: the transfer window is less stringent than for public HS, but still, most players don't transfer, so that turns out to not mean a whole lot. It certainly doesn't explain why Bosco dominates football in this country. And Bosco doesn't have the staff or the budget or the people to recruit from all over the place either. The thing is, they don't really need to: all the players know about Bosco, and most of the good ones try to play at either Bosco or MD or Cen10. Those are the big football schools out here that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Oh by the way Texas had 32 players drafted to the NFL and 8 were from the DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth) area. Texas always represents well on the gridiron 🏈! Bosco is great, but don't sleep on Centennial. Year end and year out they always give Mater dei fits. Plus don't forget Centennial lost to IMG by one point only because coach wanted to go for two points instead of kicking another field goal and going another overtime period.

I'll make this real simple - this CLEARLY shows what recruiting provides. Allen, TX with a population of 108k refuses to build a second high school, so it can use the methodology of being able to choose from largest pool of players in Texas. No other school in Texas with this population does this. That said, numbers don't lie. Allen should be able to stay close with ANY school, simply based on the kids its able to obtain with such a large pool of athletes. If its now NOT COMPLETELY OBVIOUS that Bosco heavily recruits all D1 TALENT, I don't know what more to say..... Props to Bosco, but clearly we know why this game wasn't close......

Here in Texas HS Football.Our governing body The UIL aka University Interscholastic League.We have schools that change classification every 2-years (which I HATE,and is stupid) so California 4-A would be a 6-A Division 1 here,based on student enrollment.Same for a 5-A would be Class 6-Division 2,so those BIG schools wouldn't NOT play one another here.Galena Park North Shore Mustangs didn't play Drew Brees alma mater Austin Westlake in State Championship.One is 6-A Div-1 the other 6-A Div-2.Yes! this is set in every classification in Texas High School Athletics for every sport,so certain good teams don't play each other,unless thier enrollment goes up,or goes down in that 2-year span.Sir,sometimes schools that are 80 miles apart here in Texas don't even play one another.Is G.P.North Shore better,or is Austin Westlake better?🤔Now both won Texas State HS Titles last season.

Brennan and Stele high school are the schools that have made it the furthest in my area since I’ve been here (both 6A). California changes classifications every year, but it’s more based on strength of schedule. I just think Cali private schools are big attractions in Cali and in Texas they are looked at as second hand talent and can never get anyone to go there because they won’t play on the biggest stage. Hence the reason why a 4AA school based on enrollment can play a 1AA school in the Open division. We don’t care how big your school is, can you win games against top tier talent???

Private schools in Cali do have one advantage: the transfer window is less stringent than for public HS, but still, most players don't transfer, so that turns out to not mean a whole lot. It certainly doesn't explain why Bosco dominates football in this country. And Bosco doesn't have the staff or the budget or the people to recruit from all over the place either. The thing is, they don't really need to: all the players know about Bosco, and most of the good ones try to play at either Bosco or MD or Cen10. Those are the big football schools out here that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Last year Duncanville finished the season ranked #3 in TX and #21 in the nation. Mater Dei beat them early in the season 45-3.

Bosco is great, but don't sleep on Centennial. Year end and year out they always give Mater dei fits. Plus don't forget Centennial lost to IMG by one point only because coach wanted to go for two points instead of kicking another field goal and going another overtime period.

I'll make this real simple - this CLEARLY shows what recruiting provides. Allen, TX with a population of 108k refuses to build a second high school, so it can use the methodology of being able to choose from largest pool of players in Texas. No other school in Texas with this population does this. That said, numbers don't lie. Allen should be able to stay close with ANY school, simply based on the kids its able to obtain with such a large pool of athletes. If its now NOT COMPLETELY OBVIOUS that Bosco heavily recruits all D1 TALENT, I don't know what more to say..... Props to Bosco, but clearly we know why this game wasn't close......

I’m only happy about this to a certain extent, Cali whooping on Texas😅😅😅😭 hasn’t even been close and I remember some years back in the comments you Texans would say the top Cali teams wouldn’t hold up against the lower divisions like 5A and 4A schools 😅😅😅 I never thought I’d see the day that Cali vs Texas because when I was in high school we knew UIL didn’t allow their schools to travel out of state (only state in the country) so that’s why they don’t play other states as often as they should. Hopefully Cali publics like Cen10, MSV or Narbonne or a honorable mention private like Orange Lu and maybe Serra. Or even Servite. DLS fell off hard, lot of kids up north are going back public 😄Shii maybe Folsom or Serra that’s up north could come out here too, y’all might could beat them 😅. San Diego has some hitters too but they just can’t hold up against the southern section.

Here in Texas HS Football.Our governing body The UIL aka University Interscholastic League.We have schools that change classification every 2-years (which I HATE,and is stupid) so California 4-A would be a 6-A Division 1 here,based on student enrollment.Same for a 5-A would be Class 6-Division 2,so those BIG schools wouldn't NOT play one another here.Galena Park North Shore Mustangs didn't play Drew Brees alma mater Austin Westlake in State Championship.One is 6-A Div-1 the other 6-A Div-2.Yes! this is set in every classification in Texas High School Athletics for every sport,so certain good teams don't play each other,unless thier enrollment goes up,or goes down in that 2-year span.Sir,sometimes schools that are 80 miles apart here in Texas don't even play one another.Is G.P.North Shore better,or is Austin Westlake better?🤔Now both won Texas State HS Titles last season.

Brennan and Stele high school are the schools that have made it the furthest in my area since I’ve been here (both 6A). California changes classifications every year, but it’s more based on strength of schedule. I just think Cali private schools are big attractions in Cali and in Texas they are looked at as second hand talent and can never get anyone to go there because they won’t play on the biggest stage. Hence the reason why a 4AA school based on enrollment can play a 1AA school in the Open division. We don’t care how big your school is, can you win games against top tier talent???

I like FNL too,but I didn't know Billingsley's dad was so abusive.. wow,and the pressure put on those young men to win it all.Thank Goodness we didn't have that pressure,the only thing we wanted is to be better than the under achieveing '87 Lufkin Panthers and make the playoffs.The '87 team was much more talent than our '88 team.They left us coming into the season ranked #47 We moved to #4 in four weeks.Beating a 9-1 playoff team Beaumont Westbrook,a good Conroe team with 16 returning starters at Moorhead Stadium 10-0 where a fight between blacks & whites broke out on Conroe's home side after the game.Our fans and team had nothing to do with it.Our locker room was directly across from the home side about 15-yards away.I saw a women get punched by men in the face, basically a melee under the stands.It was just horrible.Our coaches was trying hurry us into the locker room, because we was trying to watch it.Now there was a fence in front of our looker room that lead to the field.We saw police officers handcuff several people after we got off the Greyhound Bus in our game worn jersey to see,while the coaches was still in the locker room getting game stats,ect.,or something.
