That is no joke. Just looking at all of the natural disasters happening in the U.S makes me keep reevaluating what options I have.

Thank you very much for providing this information! It's timely and extremely useful! I just followed the link and ordered one of these to add to my "off-grid" capabilities. I also picked up an adapter to fill the little green propane cans from the large 5lb cans.
I can't tell you how many of those little Coleman generators I've been through over the years! :) Now, if they can figure a way to do this with the little single mantle red lanterns!
I am happy it was helpful. I found this very useful as well. I actually am just realizing how wasteful the 1lb LP tanks are and have been looking into the green reusable ones too.

Propane is nice and convienient but the liquid puts out way more heat (BTUs)
BUt, it does provide a nice alternative when appropriate.
I totally agree. Once you are in near freezing temps propane also becomes useless and the pump tanks with the white gas or unleaded become essential. Cannot forget how reliable the tank has been in the past.

at $7.00 for a 1lb bottle of propane you might be cheaper off fixing the old pump.
That is a very valid point. Especially after this last trip and seeing you can easily go through a tank in a long weekend! I am just now seeing the option of using the green refillable tanks and will be looking to utilize that option.
