You mentioned that this is to reinforce for the Adventure Rack system. I would guess there’s a JKU version then, too. I had the steel bumper group as well. Still sporting the front, but I replaced the rear for the very reason you mentioned. I could flex that bumper with my bare hands. I knew that coming off a shelf and landing on that rear bumper would send it straight up into the tub! I replaced it with an aluminum full width that is much stronger and doesn’t flex.
Hi, good hearing from you. I'm not sure if they make a similiar part for the JKU?
Wish this was around years ago.....my stock steel is long gone because of this.
Copy that!
Both my front and rear stock steel bumpers have taken a lot of abuse. Other than the little plastic pieces and the rear plastic license plate holder. Both have been broken. If there was no plastic they would be fantastic for a stock steel.
Hi Sine, good hearing from you! I really like my OEM steel bumpers, and as I mentioned in the video, I think Jeep did a good job with the design and execution of them. My only concern was the possible body damage if I land hard on the rear corner(s).
Good to hear yours have taken abuse and are doing work.
How has the brace held up?
The braces have held up perfectly. MetalCloak uses a zinc coating so zero issues with corrosion.
@@ExpeditionBuildsany trail impacts ?
@@This_is_My_Story Yes, landed on the passenger corner pretty good while wheeling 'The Pickle' trail in Moab. Bumper corner did not move into the body/tub. A little flat black spray paint touched up the bumper.
@@ExpeditionBuilds that’s enough for me to get them thanks 🙏 a lot
@@This_is_My_Story My pleasure! The braces are good insurance.
