Apparently Kinder Egg Surprise are banned in the USA because people were eating the yellow inner part?? I said to one of my American friends that I had some Kinder Eggs and I was telling her about the toys but she was confused as to why we had them if they were banned in the USA 😅 The G4 My Little Ponies have metal tail washers from what I know, well, I had a My Little Pony large Princess Luna figure, one of the dress up sized ponies and the tail was attached with a metal washer like the older ponies.
I just got some G1 ponies and these are the first that I have ever had, my sister grew up with them though (jealous!) 😆 The G1 ponies have rusty washers unfortunately but my plan is to restore them and I'm watching these videos to learn how to do that 😉

My G1 ponies that I got are quite old, they say Pat Pending on their hooves and they are from 1983. They're so old that Hasbro didn't even have a patent for them yet haha
My sister was born in '84 and grew up with so many toys and things like the Care Bears, the old stuff was good!

@@RetroGeekCrafts I believe in you! Plus I'd love to see those beautiful corals in some beautiful colors! 😍 I've seen some doll customizers use gouache paints (opaque watercolors) for smoother color transitions and easier touch-ups. Just something to think about. Since you're going to spray it with MSC to finish it anyway you just add a layer of MSC anytime you want to save your progress, if that makes sense.

Such a cool idea to make a scenic base for these guys! Especially since they don't display very well on their own, haha. For future reference as well, printed resin is extremely brittle, but if you put prints in hot water (not boiling), it softens the resin and lets you break off the supports much easier and with a much lower risk of breaking the actual piece itself!

Wanted to mention that while you were making the stands, you could’ve used the Sculpting tab/mode and used the Grab/Snake Hook tools to adjust the existing models you downloaded so it’d fit better. My only comment is that I believe that the pearlescent paint is meant to be used with an airbrush, hence the very thin consistency. While it works the way you used it, and your description made perfect sense btw; I believe that the best way to get a nice even coat would be to use an airbrush. Granted you would have to own an airbrush and have experience using it as well for a good result, but you can get a basic gravity fed airbrush for probably 20-30 pounds if that's something that interests you.

Ohhh I’ve never seen this pony design I really love them!! The old toy ponies are sooo nostalgic plus the cute little seahorse body!!! So cute, I wish they still made them :o
The 3D printing looks GREAT, especially for a first attempt. You have a real talent with making the models your own. I love the way they’re perched in the coral.

The sea ponies are really cute, aren't they? I didn't know they existed either until fairly recently. I love them now 😊😊 They're just more uncommon, so I only have these two. I'd love to have an adult one!

My favorite bath toy as a child was a Baby Sea Pony named Water Lily. In fact, I loved her so much that I used her color scheme when creating my pony character. Sadly, I lost her during a move some 25 years ago.

Ponies came out great, as always. Nice job on the bases, with your wonderful new toy. I would love to see what else you can do with it. Of coarse, we absolutely want to see those bases finished and painted... or at least I do, it’s totally killing my OCD, to see those beautifully restored Sea Ponies sitting on unfinished bases 😹
The Calibers are a wonderful tool to have, micrometers are fun too... Machinist, Metalsmith and Welder here, so, measurements are important 😸

Thank you 😊😊 I am SO HAPPY with the printer, I have SO many plans! I hope I can get to cleaning the bases before I move on to printing 1000 accessories :P I had never used a caliper (caliber? I think I might have gotten that wrong!) so I was completely fascinated. I have a social sciences and artsy background - these tools are a marvel to me. I'm way too disorganized to take real advantage of the, but they are AMAZING!

Surf Rider looks amazing with white hair she looks so weird with the faded pink faded to that off white but she looks really good with white hair I love those bases and I am definitely going to look to see if I can get hold of that pearly paint you use because that's amazing if it can do that. Most definitely what I needed to see after today so thank you

It was absolutely not on purpose, I checked the wiki and it looked white so I didn't question it. I have to say, though, that I quite like the white hair but it was an accident 😊 The pearlized acrylic is great, hope you can find it!

You can soak this sort of plastic in a product called Milton, it'll get rid of the mold spots. Its the stuff you soak baby bottle teats in. Got rid of mold spots in afew days.

Thank you for the tip!! I haven't heard of this product although these spots are infamous for how difficult to remove they are. From what I had read in the community forums and pages, the only treatment is UV light and peroxide -- but I will give Milton a try! 😊
