Chief White Crane Recreation Area - Yankton South Dakota

Chief White Crane Recreation Area is one of 3 South Dakota State Parks in the area surrounding Lewis & Clark Lake. The 140+ campsites at Chief White Crane are a small fraction of the campsites available between the 3 South Dakota State Parks, several Nebraska State Parks, and campgrounds operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Lewis & Clark Lake is formed by a dam on the Missouri River between the two states. It has 31,000 surface acres, 90 miles of shoreline, and is approximately 25 miles long. Chief White Crane Campground is located below the dam on the shores of Lake Yankton.
