Yo thank you for saying what no one else says. I've been trying to get my master track loud and ig "crispy" in all the ways that ppl on yt say and none of them are right lmao. Going above 0 db is the only way
@@MrAAAAAA1 Also if you're on Windows, get CamelCrusher (for free). Careful of the website you download it from but It's my best fuckin friend sometimes. Some real hard af clipped+compressed drums us easy w/ it. I almost always set distortion to a very very slight amount of mechanical (? not tube) on drums to saturate, compressor set to 4db (only use fat mode on smoother basses and subs, sometimes a separate kick or snare), turn off the filter, and set the volume knobs to the max. Then set the mixer track CC is on to at least -6db to balance the volume of the drums n bass w/ the melody.
U can also put a soft clipper on the master so that your drums can sound even more punchy i kno u said u don’t care bout clipping but it was also make it not clip but still have a certain loudness perception
@@ChambersOnIt i found a lot of tutorials on how to make kick clip but no one makes them clip like 808 mafia Beats, i dont really know how to explain It Better. So its mainly a sound selection issue and the rudiments used for the 808 could work too?
Another thing about clipping is if a huge artist did want to use your beat, they’ll end up sending it to a professional sound engineer anyways (not all the time, but usually). I don’t think beat makers necessarily have to be professional mixers
If you bounce a 2 track crazy clipped and distorted, doesn’t matter if you send to an engineer or not, it’s like trying to uncook something you burned. So as long as you’re not overdoing it it’s fine
but if the beat is that loud and your trying to record vocals into it but not record you vocals so loud that they distort thru your audio interface , how to you leep the same distortion and lower the beat enough to record vocals in at a good level
@@ChambersOnIt i feel that, but it just sucks cuz then you have to commit to the mix down of the beat and cant level things out around the vocal , unless you go all the way back in the beat project and change it then export it again
If it ain't broken, don't fix it. However, you can make it even punchier with the right mastering tools and without clipping, my friend. I invite you to reconsider how you approach clipping; it's no joke. It can seriously limit the artist and not give their whole song the opportunity to reach competitive loudness. No mix engineer will accept your version of the mix, let alone a mastering engineer. In other words, you'll have zero professional clients.but other than that, great tips ma boii
@@ChambersOnIt i do that i play them at the same time even add effects like clipper for distortion but still i don’t get that clashing sound 😣 maybe the sounds which i’m using not appropriate that’s the last thing left and thnks for replying i didn’t expect☺️

@@ChambersOnIt is it the same process to make the kick sound crispy? I mean make the kick like it clips on the hi hats like you did with the 808s.
@@guidotrinei4307 depends on the sound selection but you could get a similar result
