- Great winter day to get outdoors. Had some fun on the river, even found a little gold. Michigan gold is on the small side, the gold used to be in a mountain in Canada, but the glaciers tore the mountain down, grinding it up with the rocks all the way down to southern Indiana and Ohio. Being able to catch this fine gold is a challenge, but if you can get the fine stuff you are ahead of the game when you get to better areas. I have big plans to get to better areas this year! Stay tuned.

Love your videos 😊
Loved the video paul. Thanks for all the great explanations of how you do things. Keep on making it hapoen.
Nice job on the gold. We don’t get rich panning for gold in Michigan, but it’s a fun hobby! I’m in SW Michigan.
I hear ya! I am in SE Michigan, can't be too far from you. Thanks for watching! New video coming out in a few minutes. Found some better stuff yesterday.
To bad we can’t dredge in Michigan!!!
@@SilverSleuth It would be nice to be able to sluice too. I know the State makes a lot of money off of trout and salmon fishing, but I don't get it. I have more fish swimming around my feet when I am stirring up the bottom with a shovel, then when casting lures.
I thought we could sluice in non trout waters? I better double check the regulations. 😬
@@SilverSleuth Yup, non-trout waters, but you have to watch for the areas where an endangered clam could be. Not sure where I saw that map, but the areas in yellow where a no go. Pretty sure it was on the MDEQ site, but they changed their name.
I didn't know there was gold in MI, very cool video! You may be loosing some with such a big screen I'd order a 6 mesh, and a 10 or 12 and after checking a few, settle it straight in. Makes way less work and a better day.
Fun video👍⛏
Got to love Placer Gold! Watch out for that Mica, it can fool ya!! lol
Nice gold bud... If you can... I would invest in a macro lens... Cheap ones show good detail on alot of the small gold i find
I see we shop for heavy equipment at the same place and I love your plan but it comes through about the same as mine does
nice video. going to pan on the 2oth fir the first time. i have a question, why didnt you use a smaller classifier to get rid of the pebbles?
Ha...Backhoe :-) thanks for the video.
It is all about having a good time. Thanks for commenting

The guy in the plane ✈ was trying to take a video of remote creek but there was a guy panning for gold in it. 🤔 ironic or serendipitous?
🤣😂🤣
Plane is going to drop a bomb
Nice
I like your video I put a bolt in my hat bill and bolted my camera to it kinda of an idea where I n Michigan are you from not much gold around here where I live . Good to see you made part of that payment keep your video comming thanks bill
Thanks Bill, more videos coming real soon, going out west to my luck
Dnr says we can’t even dig near the rivers…. How often is this an issue
I don't understand how he can still have all those quarter to half inch gravels when he gets down to the last 2 table spoons of in the pan. He needs to work on that.
What do you keen Michigan has gold!
😁👍👍👍
SE MICHIGAN??? I'm in Monroe county is there gold near me???? Lol
Yes there is, it is all over Michigan in creeks and rivers brought down from the glaciers 10K years ago, the glacial till runs all the way down to southern Ohio
What areas are you hitting? I hear the manistee may be good
Im gunna try it this spring..
