Rarity collection 2 , Dragon Master Magia, and the infamous "ask your friend," incident really shows how much Konami hates us. Especially us old players who use the game as an escape to better times, now a lot of us have bills to pay, mouths to feed, not to mention a game that doesn't even provide proper prizing( doesn't have to be money, but quality prize support you see in Locorna is a prime example.)Either they need to get in touch with their player base or find new management that cares about the player base, rather than scalping us for our nostalgia .
You're talking about the same playerbase where everyone could never agree on anything and has a tendency to complain about anything for the sake of complaining, especially during terrible formats. If Konami actually listed to them, then the game would most likely be in a much worse state right now, especially when it comes to elements like the banlist. Also, please don't try to speak for the playerbase. There are a lot of people who don't feel the same way you do about RC02, Magia, etc. To many, RC02 was a decent set, even though it didn't include more recent cards like Chaos Angel and S:P (reprinting those two would've caused the EV in later sets like this year's Mega Tins to take a nosedive). Magia is a terrible card and meant to be collectible. Dragion is getting a more accessible reprint soon, and you don't even need it in order to play Tenpai.
It’s not fair to compare players not wanting nostalgia to drive a set vs Konami making a card completely inaccessible. It would be one thing if it was an alternative art, like they did with raye and roze where other versions are available for those who want to play the card. It’s a completely other thing to make it unavailable almost entirely.
I think some people complaining are genuine, and they have valid reasoning. But others that would never touch a Blue-Eyes card are complaining just to complain
It’s unfair… for now. But it’s not a meta defining card (that would crash the game), and IT WILL get a reprint eventually (like with every other card). @@eduardosr9859 I agree with you, that Magia will get a reprint. And likely even within a year or two (or three). But do you really think they aren't going to pull the exact same thing with the next lower rarity, when they see how much of a chase card it was? And let's get one thing corrected here: Magia is not going to be meta-defining in the manner of S:P but it fills a potentially similar important role for Blue-Eyes players. And that hits especially bad for Blue-Eyes players because for all their myriad archetype support - with the exception of the Spirit Dragon shenanigan - their cards always suffer from having long been power-crept upon their release. The feeling of having waited for so long that the card has become irrelevant is a very common experience among Blue-Eyes players. And now it's not because of incompetent card design or being afraid of the accusation towards Blue-Eyes favoritism, but because Konami is openly trying to extort money from us.

Don't see this dropping to $200 or below ever my guess is it will be about a $400-$500 card for the novelty and story behind it
I play competitive and haven't played a blue eyes deck in years, I bought many cards to be able to play magia when it came out since my locals is getting more casual friendly, with the ra02 reprints hinting to magia being playable, I'm fuming about the price of this card
I mean, from a perspective of a YGO player that likes to actually buy and play meta decks, I believe that making an almost unplayable card a QCR, that its value resides on fanservice is 100% okay for me... My greatest problem with the set is how Phantom of Yubel is a Secret Rare so it means it appears once per two boxes so you have to drop $200 for a full playset.
As of right now, Magia comes in 3 rarities UR(JP/KR), SE(JP/KR), and QCSR(All but AE/SC) A big issue is that people dislike the OCG and TCG differences for the sake of money
I’ve been playing for along time I want to only collect the old series the XYZ’s and the links are a little confusing and the when it looks like a spell card with monster
You are pretty much correct about this, the card will most likely get a reprint and the card will lose that value. If it's hit lower than 400 I'm buying
You got a point king. The only thing I find annoying is that they made it so damn difficult to pull. And the only people who will own this and future cards following this principle will be rich people or RUclipsrs, which is bad for the game as sellers won't buy them.
I plan on buying 1 case more and thats it. I opened over 240 packs today just on a whim as a treat. Yes all boosters, and i pulled 0, i repeat 0 QCRs. Got a lot of standard SR yubel sure. But 0 qcrs let alone Magia
I didn’t know this card was only qcr when I first looked at the set. Figured it be about $300 for the qcr if it had another print because it’s a nostalgia blue-eyes card. $700 is way too expensive. Definitely gonna wait for it to go down because it will.
There is supply & Demand curve. Magia has less supply and Waaaay more Demand. Thats why price went up. But yeah, absolutely not paying more than £100 for this card
It depends if they reprint the card if the value will hold up. And of course Konami will. A good investment probably would be tournament pack 2 ultras in my opinion
"Maybe if it is you, you can....Look inward" I know I have a soft spot for dry sarcasm but that might be the funniest thing you've ever said on the channel.
It’s really not fair it’s only a game/ then collector cards so if those who don’t believe that it will go extremely high price then we can definitely keep it that way this is business thinking just squeeze the last profit for any fool to fall for!
My main argument is because OCG got two rarities upon release and just now a third rarity being ultra and they only give it to us in one rarity and it being the highest. My second point why I’m upset is because I need it to complete the new build of my deck. I’m just heart broken because I forgot sure thought we would get two rarities upon initial release of the card
I have a friedn that is a really collector of BE stuff... When the set/rarity was annuncied ,i said to him to get it in japanese becuase was cheap. He did because the card, and more here, because the chnage of prices with money convertion are crazy! And more with the obvious short printing of the card,... with the change here the card at the minimum price is almost 10k pesos.
It's pretty insane to me that Magia goes up for that much, regardless if it involves nostalgia, very high rarity, possibly short printed too. It's brand new. At least the OCG has it far cheaper and in multiple rarities so my binder will certainly feast with that instead. Locking it to QCR in the tcg i feel just locks the 99% from getting any decent shot at a neat card.
Hey Ruxin don't know if you'll see this but was wondering: 1. What do you do with all the cards you collect. I know you give some away but how much room do you have to keep cards? 2. Would it be a fun idea to buy the 24 or so boxes to try and pull this card? Is this set good? Hope you keep on being a Yu-Gi-Oh believer cause this card game is cool
I know it’s not really the same but from a collector standpoint, the fact you can get all 3 or4 rarities of this card available in the OCG for under $80, just makes this cards TCG price insane. Not worth it by a mile.
Definitely the selling point for the Set. I figured it go up to $400-500 follow QCR S:P projection Magia vs 10000 Dragon , i think it’s more playable both collectible
Not gunna worry it will come down eventually, and if I ever want it for my binder, I’ll be able to get it pretty cheap maybe not in QCR but will definitely be in a different rarity’s
Honestly, the real proof whether it will be printed or not is when the tins come out this year and if we see magician of bond and unity reprinted, we will know Ruxin34 was right because that will most likely happen Dragon master magia
Magia will get a reprint after not too long i wouldn't even be surprised if a lower rarity will be available when new Blue Eyes structure comes out late October, which has been confirmed 8 brand new support cards. Ppl just want something about the set to complain about.
I dont know why people thought this card was going to drop on release after finding out it was only in QCR The fact that its only in QCR, pullable between 25 QCRs, Collectors, Nostalgia, Playable, and Hard to pull. I got a few copies at $400.
A while ago I bought 4 random packs of Brothers of Legend and pulled Starlight Dragoon, I used up my luck for a while haha. I hope they reprint the Magia someday so I can put it in my collection but I'm not gonna spend multiple hundreds of dollars on a card
This will definitely get a reprint and I agree with Ruxin about this. I will wait and get my copy in a reprint one day. I am not lucky enough to earn that kind of money to buy a card over £500 and if I did would lose ot when the reprint comes out.
i think the talk surrounding this card definitely pushed it up in price. in cardmarket i saw it selling for 350 just 2 days ago and now its at 750 for an english version
There's more demand for a card whose only access is this print. Alt arts imo don't really count as much toward expected value because some players will be content with the cheap non alt art. Think ten thousand dragon.
Ten Thousand Dragon is also *considerably* less playable than Dragon Master Magia. While Magia isn’t warping the meta anytime soon and probably isn’t the optimal way of playing BEWD, there are lines that can make it without too much hassle and it IS a pretty solid boss monster for a fan favorite archetype. Also entirely possible the new OCG Structure Deck, which will have new Blue-Eyes cards, will make it more viable.
Surely prices will dip as more people open the set and supply increases. How much? That’s the question. And while it’s not exactly a substitute, the ocg version does exist. I think collectors and nostalgia blue eyes folks (the target market for this card) will have to and will turn to the Japanese version. Not everyone can afford a $750 card.
I think that if the players are complaining about wanting to play the card but it being too expensive, it is a valid argument. I mean I know one of those players, he was telling last saturday at my locals that he wanted to play it but couldn't spend $700 on it. It's way too crazy, honestly. And it's not the first time this happened. But it being a QCR only is the actual issue here... it'd been ok if it had both versions, or even an alternative art on QCR.
It is definitely okay to complain about that. The people I was referring to are using mocking blue eyes cards, but have now flipped to complaining about not being able to get said card
I'm still with you on this one tbh, the card feels very overhyped and it's entirely plausible that it's being bought out or even intentionally manipulated due to all that hype. Once everything dies down, I can't imagine this card going for more than a fraction of its current price. I don't think they will reprint it immediately, but it feels like something they would be stupid to NOT cash in on. They've shown that they are willing and able to do it, so now it's just a matter of waiting to see whether or not they do it
I agree with all ur points u said in ur last video, as well as in this video. The discourse almost certainly helped people collectors have FOMO, and investors wanting to after it especially early. I also would be shocked if it doesn’t get reprinted at some point. If anything knowing Konami they’ll use its reprint to market whatever set it’s reprinted in 😆. Also since you mentioned in 2 years, I also believe this card would have dropped a lot in the long run. For one example (you can find more) the secret pharaoh rares from KICO have dropped like crazy in 2-3 years. I personally sold a secret pharaoh Ra for $430 a week or so after release. That card isn’t even worth 1/4 of that now. Almost every high rarity card in the last 4 years have dropped significantly. All these people saying “nostalgia will have it keep its price”, I disagree with considering there’s literally other actual real nostalgic cards in high rarity that have not held at all the last few years. Another example of a huge drop for a high rarity nostalgia card is ghost DMG was $600-$700 at release. You can find it for $140 now or lower. Of course these other cards have other printings, but that leads to Ruxins last point an inevitable reprint for Magia.
@@Ruxin34thanks lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if when battles of legend chapter 2 comes around, Konami goes “remember when Magia was printed as only a QCR in its original set? Well now it’s available in this reprint set!” Would be very much a Konami thing to do.
This may get reprinted sooner in september when the advent of the blue eyes structure deck comes out in the ocg along with the rarity enhancement pack. But since its max rarity already its most likely not going to be in the pack.
I do think players or people in general who say "this is the best investment ever" don't know at all how the market and these things in general work. Well, they're the ones who are making the sellers happy right now because this card is definitely going to the ground
Look, if you like buying sealed products for fun, go for it. And if you happen to land some high value cards and wanna sell em for some extra cash, cool. But people who treat Yu-Gi-Oh cards like stocks are pretty pathetic. Your risk is high, your gains are low, and you're actively hurting the rest of the playerbase by pushing for cards to become inaccessible. Go buy actual stocks.
Maybe some buy this card as a future investment in case some will figure out to cheat summon it, cause the effect on dragon master magia is extremely good, we talking about at least 2 card negates versus any modern deck, one spell and one monster negate, there is even the possibility for 3 by including also a trap card activation.
I like having a few cards that only come in high rarity, and Komoney will eventually reprint it cause they are on a crusade to destroy the secondary market
Just wait until infinite forbidden is released and nobody remembers this card. Will be worth just as much as any other average QCR the moment it get a reprint.
Hearing all this has me thinking how crazy my luck was then, because I only got one box and pulled the Magia! Still not sure if its worth holding or to sell it
As a blue eyes player, it's incredibly disheartening that it was ONLY released as a QCR. I had a whole deck built for this card specifically. Now? I have to completely put aside the deck and rethink on wether or not I actually want to keep the deck, because I can't justify paying over $800 CAD For one single card when the deck I've made requires two. It's like a slap in the face from Konami if I'm being honest. Like, "Oh, We here at konami heard y'all like the blue eyes stuff!. How's about we make a great card for the archtype. Would y'all like that? Yeah? Okay sweet. It's only gonna have ONE type of print and we'll hype it up to make it stupid expensive! Thats what you guys like right? There's no way we could be wrong here." Big ol FU To Konami for this one.
@@Ruxin34 Guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed! Just imagine Ko-Money went and pulled a Rarity collection 2 on the Magia card, and re-printed six months later in January 🤣🤣.
Let's be honest with each other, we get shafted pretty bad compared to the OCG, including tournament prizing(s) etc. There's probably a number of reasons for this but like what do we do as a player base? Vote with our wallets??? Idk, kind of seems like a lose-lose situation at this point 🙃
Do you buy cases from TCGPlayer? I’m trying to buy a case of crystal revenge for the starlight exodia pieces there’s boxes available currently but I haven’t been able to find cases and not sure where else to look. I know it’s a somewhat old set too so I’m assuming it’s just cause it’s old.
Dawg just buy the singles. Unless you are making a lot of money, or you have a way to divert the funding of said cases, it’s not worth buying cases. It’s starlights, so it’s not actually 1 per case.
To the people who are complaining about this being expensive: you know you don’t have to buy it, ya know? You could just buy packs here and there to try and open it. Should it have been available in other rarities? Yes. But I don’t recall people complaining like this about Ten Thousand Dragon when Battles of Legend Armageddon was new. Speaking of Ten Thousand Dragon, you mentioned Magia will for sure get a reprint. Where is 10k dragon’s reprint at then? Case and point
That is the only card that has avoided a reprint. I think that being the 10K “special card” has helped, but honestly won’t be shocked if they do reprint it.
As someone that purchased the Seto Kaiba briefcase AND opened the display to play with the cards I feel like I have valid complaints about this card. I bought the briefcase after the fact for $1100 because I couldnt afford it when the presales went up. Im more than willing to spend money on a Blue-Eyes card. I have every artwork in max rarity near mint highest rarity including the ghost rares and qcrs. I'm very dissappointed in this card. I am NOT willing to buy a copy at this price. I rather buy another briefcase at this price.
Limited edition is only for special prints, so those will always be the same. 1st edition holds additional value when a set has multiple printings and the 1st ed is always guaranteed to be the original. You are pretty much correct about this, the card will most likely get a reprint and the card will lose that value.
If it's hit lower than 400 I'm buying
Ruxin when that day comes on the reprint you should make the shortest video just you saying, "HA!! Told I ya so!!" 😅
You got a point king. The only thing I find annoying is that they made it so damn difficult to pull. And the only people who will own this and future cards following this principle will be rich people or RUclipsrs, which is bad for the game as sellers won't buy them.
I wanted 3 for different collection (blue eyes, black Luster and Dark magician) but is crazy that prize I would rather wait for a reprint
I plan on buying 1 case more and thats it. I opened over 240 packs today just on a whim as a treat. Yes all boosters, and i pulled 0, i repeat 0 QCRs. Got a lot of standard SR yubel sure. But 0 qcrs let alone Magia
You need to do more card value type videos explaining if you think cards are over or under valued! That was great!
My airplane is delayed! Thanks Ruxin for keeping me entertained while i wait 💪💪
Plane will be delayed way longer than 15 min 😂 ✈️
@@Nate1995 in fact we are entering the gate right now 🤣 but I can ask for a refund
Dang 3 QCSE per case only?
So, the fact that I got Secret Yubel and QCSE Yubel in 1 box is extremely lukcy, huh?
I bought 3 boxes of got 1 QCSE phantom of yubel and 1 secret rare one out of 3 boxes !
@@Kime11550 You know what is crazier? Someone had the same exact pull before me. I guess my local is just that lucky!
I didn’t know this card was only qcr when I first looked at the set. Figured it be about $300 for the qcr if it had another print because it’s a nostalgia blue-eyes card. $700 is way too expensive. Definitely gonna wait for it to go down because it will.
Im sure not all QCR have the same ratio. I've seen lots of Phantom of Yubel pulled, but not a lot of Magia.
"Maybe if it is you, you can....Look inward"
I know I have a soft spot for dry sarcasm but that might be the funniest thing you've ever said on the channel.
Hey Ruxin don't know if you'll see this but was wondering:
I can see some of these QCRs being quite valuable in 10 years as long as this is the only year they do the QCR and don’t reprint the shit out of them.
I know it’s not really the same but from a collector standpoint, the fact you can get all 3 or4 rarities of this card available in the OCG for under $80, just makes this cards TCG price insane. Not worth it by a mile.
Definitely disagree with you at 1:45, it's really weird to have only one rarity and not have two so you can account for both collectors and players.
Definitely the selling point for the Set. I figured it go up to $400-500 follow QCR S:P projection
Magia vs 10000 Dragon , i think it’s more playable both collectible
Lmao
I said to my self yesterday
Hey Presale is done let me check how much in went down.
Surprise Surprise
It might go like red eyes dark dragoon and get a reprint the just as rare as the qcr u never know what they will do
Not gunna worry it will come down eventually, and if I ever want it for my binder, I’ll be able to get it pretty cheap maybe not in QCR but will definitely be in a different rarity’s
Can someone explain why the. Vast difference in hype between this dragon magia n the Japanese version for about 120 to 150 graded 10 at that lol
I dont know why people thought this card was going to drop on release after finding out it was only in QCR
The fact that its only in QCR, pullable between 25 QCRs, Collectors, Nostalgia, Playable, and Hard to pull.
I got a few copies at $400.
Hey I wanna buy a lord of the tachyon galaxy booster box but no one ship to south Africa any advice?
I have one on my site ruxin34.com
I bought one NM english at 399 and 24h later... what happened to the market ?!
Now it's more than 750 😵
A while ago I bought 4 random packs of Brothers of Legend and pulled Starlight Dragoon, I used up my luck for a while haha.
Wouldn’t be surprised about ghost listings here to prop price for float
We got inflation in Yu-Gi-Oh before GTA 6?
Srry i am pretty new in the hobby whit is qcr meaning ? Thanks
Well said!
@@Ruxin34thanks lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if when battles of legend chapter 2 comes around, Konami goes “remember when Magia was printed as only a QCR in its original set? Well now it’s available in this reprint set!” Would be very much a Konami thing to do.
@@Atlantafan21 then they are like actually why not bring back 10K too?🤣
I got a playset for QCR Bike Masquaranar & QCR AppleJuice for 39.99 each today 😂
This may get reprinted sooner in september when the advent of the blue eyes structure deck comes out in the ocg along with the rarity enhancement pack. But since its max rarity already its most likely not going to be in the pack.
Seems like a couple magia were sold and resold a couple times pretty quick which would also artificially drive the price up
I agree that it's overhyped atm. But I know that if I pull one, it's being sold before it's reprinted, lol.
Good call🤣
IF it’s reprinted. Look at Ten Thousand Dragon
@@stevenashley2710k dragon is a special celebration card. Magia is just another support card that’s shiny.
I do think players or people in general who say "this is the best investment ever" don't know at all how the market and these things in general work. Well, they're the ones who are making the sellers happy right now because this card is definitely going to the ground
If you bought Magia at $500 presale and flipped it ASAP huge W. But yeah in the long term don’t see this as a winning stonk
Really feels like RUclips videos are causing this card to get jacked up in price to some degree tbh
Meanwhile here in the OCG I got mine for like $80
Look, if you like buying sealed products for fun, go for it.
I'm upset it's qcr because I wanted to play it. So I guess I'll wait a year for a reprint to play it
But isn‘t it possible that the same Magia Card is sold more than one time so the 52 could be even less or am i wrong ?
Maybe some buy this card as a future investment in case some will figure out to cheat summon it, cause the effect on dragon master magia is extremely good, we talking about at least 2 card negates versus any modern deck, one spell and one monster negate, there is even the possibility for 3 by including also a trap card activation.
A card i really want to have in english- but until the reprint comes, an ocg copy will do just fine :)
I like having a few cards that only come in high rarity, and Komoney will eventually reprint it cause they are on a crusade to destroy the secondary market
Please don't be wrong Ruxin.
Please.
My local buddy said Air Neos never got reprinted. So...
Phantom has been holding too. 😢😭😂
Just wait until infinite forbidden is released and nobody remembers this card. Will be worth just as much as any other average QCR the moment it get a reprint.
Hearing all this has me thinking how crazy my luck was then, because I only got one box and pulled the Magia! Still not sure if its worth holding or to sell it
Insane luck. Sell it immediately
they think it's a good investment until konami reprints it in a couple months in the same rarity lol
Yeah, def wait for the reprint!! Its crazy now
@@Ruxin34 Yeah, 730 days+ later 😭🤣 💔
@@duelistsupreme0434 at worst I think it is a year. But I could see it being a little earlier
I've only seen it go up from when it came out so that's gonna keep me opening up terminal revenge 😅
Really enjoyed this market discussion video
What does qcr mean?
Why do you think there will be a reprint when like 10000 dragon hasn’t ever had one
Because every other card ever has one
I will laugh my head off if the reprint in the new blue eyes deck. I'm predicting this.
10k dragon honestly gonna say NO compared to how awesome the design 10k dragon is and still has no other copy in lower than starlight
Thats what makes me si mad is people complaining that sauing blue eyes is overrated
Yeah I had a feeling this card was not going to drop and instead go up in price….
Now here is the thing... this video actually did calm me down a bit... heh... Thanks! :)
my worry is that they’ll do this again with an actual meta card in the future
People would lose their minds
Hey Ruxin out of curiosity what's better first edition or a limited edition?
Limited edition is only for special prints, so those will always be the same. 1st edition holds additional value when a set has multiple printings and the 1st ed is always guaranteed to be the original. Meanwhile special edition sets don't really get more than one print run, so all of them are the same amongst each other
Love the discussion! Feels like i learned alot
I wanna see how high this card will get. I mean it is lame situation for most of us but still I wanna see how high itll go.
Inb4 its printed in the sexier platinum secret rare or somethin within like 6 months from now rofl
i want the Raye and Roze but im not dumping 400ish dollars on a QCR exclusive.
