I get a couple handles of Jameson and have a glass (2-3 shots) per night for the first month or so. Clean and lock up all equipment and store in a footlocker in the garage so it is out of sight out of mind. I don't drink regularly and the liquor completely cuts through any withdrawal issues.

I quit smoking tobacco and I quit consuming caffeine. I tapered off on both. The one thing I would point out for anyone who is quitting is that for most people it takes multiple attempts. So the most important thing is to give yourself permission to not be perfect and to try again as many times as it takes. Took my four tries to stop smoking for sure and been nicotine and caffeine free for 12 and 10 years respectively. The second thing I would say is research the symptoms of withdrawals so you know what to expect and how other people coped with that so you have an idea of what you can do to mitigate that.

Yes my appetite was altered but I wasn’t moody, or irritable and weed hasn’t occupied my thoughts. When I get back Ill be three weeks without and cannot wait to blast off but it’s just something exciting to look forward ti me. But one thing I want to emphasize is using the word “quitting” like you’re never going to smoke again, it’s a psychological thing where you think you’ll never get high again perpetuating an individual not wanting to quit. Instead it’s better to think about it as “this is not aligning with my current life situation” and doing it one day at a time like you mentioned, whether it be tapering off or cold turkey, you start using this medicine when it aligns with your life and goals, love your work sir 🖤

I've quit numerous times for over a year at a time and honestly the only way I managed was to go completely cold-turkey. Once you know you need to quit set a date in the near future - about 1 week usually does it, tell yourself that you can smoke up until that date, but then it's time for a new start. you'll need to remove all paraphernalia clean up your room and prepare for a rough week or two with no appetite, insomnia and an ocean of emotions, you'll only manage to succeed if you truly want to do it. that's the key. Good luck!

Perfect video as I’m in the middle of this now. I frequently go all in for a few months, then quit for a while. Rinse and repeat. Over the years, cold Turkey has annihilated me, particularly after months of heavy BM dabbing. My memory was shot, I was wide awake all the time, barely could sleep, zero appetite and hurt to eat, tons of saliva etc. After like a week, I was good.
Now, I’m trying to wean off of legal dabs. I’ve been taking tiny rosin dabs and they’re still getting me decently high. I’m trying to take as little as I need to feel good throughout the day and not like crap. Enough to “feed” the craving you could say, but not blast it.

If you got to quit, you got to quit. Maybe you need time to stop and build a better relationship with yourself. Think about why am I smoking?
Cannabis withdrawals are primarily mental. You can get through them. Taper down and eventually you just have to bite the bullet and stop cold turkey.
Do not let the fear of withdrawals stop you from quitting. My worst symptom was being significantly more irritable when I stopped smoking to finish school. Sleep issues are common either in first couple days or a week or so after stopping. As cewpins says, depends on your consumption. He is right, tapering down is very key.
If you think willpower alone will help you quit, you are wrong. You have to have a plan, and the support of your friends. If you don't have any that you can turn to, then let this community be your friends. We all love smoking, but we also don't want to see it take over your life.
Managing your "tolerance" is something cewpins talks about a lot, but he is also saying "don't live in a state of numbness due to cannabis. Enjoy Getting high, but enjoy everything else as well. Have a healthy relationship with the substance" . Like any substance (D word), cannabis does have benefits, but it is all about how you use it.
I recommend tapering down for two weeks.
Once you stop smoking and make it past your first couple days and first week, you will make it. Have someone else hold you accountable. That helps a lot.
Make a plan to quit with them. It can be embarrassing, but if they truly care about you and you and them can both see that something needs to change, it is time.
Give all your stuff to someone trusted, and explain your plan to them.
Avoid spending time with people who will try to convince you to smoke again. Or at least explain your plan to them and hopefully they will respect your choice.
Fill the time that you would normally be smoking with something else.
Most people choose to quit forever or temporarily because they have something else that they feel is more important, and their current relationship with cannabis is holding them back.
    Invest your time into that.
If you have a reason other than tolerance break for quitting, do not come back to smoking until you build a better relationship with the plant. Again, if you can, make a plan with someone, and have them keep you accountable, so you don't just end up smoking the exact same way as you did before.

I have been smoking 4 grams a day for 14 years and I never felt addicted to cannabis mentally or physically and to be honest science has proven that cannabis isn't even physically addicting at all, literally the only way to get addicted to cannabis is to be weak minded enough and weak willed enough to trick your mind into thinking you actually need it to begin with. And I know I'm not addicted because as I said I have been smoking 4 grams a day for 14 years and about 10 year into it I had to move to another state and I had no connections for 6 months. And I didn't crave it, I didn't feel any withdrawals, and to be quite frank I didn't need it at all to the point where I wasn't even thinking about it but once I got new friends and they offered me a hit I got back into it that way and that is about it.

I honestly think cold turkey is the best approach. I’ve quit multiple times and yeah the first few days sucks but if you are quitting you are doing it for a reason. Weed stays in your system for a long time so if you are starting a new job and have a drug test in two-three weeks you pretty much have to quit. Workout as much as possible, drink as much water as possible, and sweat as much as possible. The people who are the most unhappy with quitting do nothing with their time. They now just have an extra 3-4 hours in their day and they realize how little they did other than work and smoke.

I found a new method to get higher with dabs/dry herb vapes. I know it sounds dumb, but you take a large hit so your lungs are full then exhale a little bit of vapor, then inhale fully, exhale a little bit more, inhale fully, exhale more, etc. until vapor is gone. I can assure you is isn’t just oxygen deprivation because each inhale you are getting more and more and oxygen, plus the it actually gets me higher not just that pseudo asphyxiation feeling. Try it, I promise you it works. I wouldn’t do it with smoke tho, just dabs or dry herb vapes

I've quit a few times for different reasons and usually I'll get my last batch and have it sitting where I can see how low its getting. I instinctively see how much is left and start conserving it without thinking too much about it. I'll take smaller hits less frequently until theres none left and then after that I dont buy more and I make sure my bong is clean before I stop so I don't get the urge to buy more from cleaning my bong.

If you're not that experienced at 510, maybe you could interview someone who has been at it for years, and maybe knows how to repair, things to look out for, that would truly make my week.

I have to ask, I"ve been clean for a little over a decade. I'm about to try these D9 gummies and cut these 15mg into 1/4 to start, maybe even 1/8 due to being gun-shy. The reason I quit back then was because in the 80's and 90's I smoked every single day for 15yrs (because I was stupid and had no clue about anything) and life forced me to quit for a few years. That lead me to my last few times and they were nightmarish. Horrible anxiety attacks and thought I was having a heart attack lol. I fucked up and ate a whole cookie the last time and I had to walk around in the snow to calm down lol. That was a decade back. But I'm looking to get back in slowly and thought gummies would be good. What are your opinions on someone wanting to get back in after being out for so long after a horrible last few experiences? PS, not looking to get wasted either, I'm just looking for a positive mood change on a weekend at home. To be chill and relaxed. Kids are grown and gone and I'm tired of worrying about everything lol.
