In this video I am going to make a short video review, or I will make a short review about one of the best knives made by Puma in Germany. As you probably know, Puma is based in Solingen, a very famous city for knife making. Like I explained before, this knife is one of their best known models; it is called German Expedition Knife. It comes with a normal certificate and a normal manual; the same like on all Puma knives. As you can see, this particular one was made in 2014, this year. The manual carries some basic information about Puma Company and also some guidelines how to sharpen your knife correctly.
I think the main feature of this knife is definitely its design. It is unique, very beautiful in a way, and this is why it is so well known. It was designed by Mr. Lennartz, you can also see here his signature. The same like by all Puma knives, you can see, where the knife was tested for hardness before it left the factory. This is really a high quality knife made of really good material. It is made of stainless steel 1.4116 and is made for the toughest conditions. You can see on the blade it is handmade knife in Solingen in Germany, you can also see the Puma logo, and the name German Expedition Knife. What is really unique is the handle, as you can see, the handle has no scales, it is opened, that the weight is lower, and there is nothing that could go wrong with such handle. Even though it is so basic it still offers good grip and has nice ergonomics. I think that the design is above all features I explained.
The blade of the knife has a clip-point design. As you can see, the whole knife is made of one-piece; therefore it is one-piece construction. The blade length is 17.0 cm and it is more than 5.0 mm thick; it is really robust and designed for the toughest conditions and really extreme situations. The length of the entire knife is 29.0 cm and it weighs 420 grams. The blade hardness is between 55-57 HRC, and the finish of the handle and the blade is satin. The knife comes in a nice brown real leather sheath, which has an opening for the belt and one safety. When you put knife into the sheath, it can be safe in its position.
