Yes; I flew first class with Qatar airways. I was on business at the time. It was a very pleasant experience. I have this museum on my wish list; will visit it soon.
Great video. Subject matter right up my street. Good show! You'll like this story. Many years ago, one evening after a day of reenactments at Biggin Hill, a friend of mine saw a cyclist in WW2 uniform cycle past her and went pass a hut. She thought who's that as he wasn't part of the group she was in. She followed him round the hut and low and behold it was a dead-end beside a small building and he was no where to be seen. Now what did she see?!?
I have never been here and I live only 10 miles from it and when I go planespotting at Charlwood i go past the entrance to this site. I will visit it very soon and possibly this year. Nice tour Mark. Thanks
Reminds me of Tangmere Military Aviation Museum near Chichester. Well worth a visit if you’re planning on doing a series of aviation videos. Don’t miss a visit to nearby Ford airfield to see the original blister hanger still on site.
It’s a really excellent place to go isn’t it? We went about 4 years ago and I’m sure it was the same chap on the Shackleton - what a wealth of information he has - the boys loved it. When we were there, they did a live test of the Lightning’s engine (it was outside!) - I think the Shackleton also fires up from time to time! The whole place is fascinating - there used to be an authorised airstrip there (despite its proximity to Gatwick!) and the original owner even flew a couple of the planes in!
Only ever been on a plane once and that was because my dear late mum won a holiday to the Dominican Republic and took me with her. I loved it, both the holiday and the long haul flight. Never been abroad since, probably never will again. I would love to have gone on Concorde, they should never of scrapped it, it was debris on the runway that caused that crash. Tragic waste.
I totally agree with you about Concorde. There are loads of videos about it on RUclips dissing it by Americans as they were jealous of it. It was a badlay maintained US plane that caused the crash and could have wreaked any other aircraft. You must do the Concorde simulation at Brooklands Museum.
Love all things aviation-wise. Grew up near the Heathrow flight path- Dad would take us to Heathrow to watch the planes land. You must visit RNASmuseum at Yeovilton- if lucky jets flying as a bonus too! Great to have a guided tour through that plane- he was so enthusiastic- it makes it all ‘come alive’. Never ever been 1st class.( friends won 1st class seats on Concorde to U.S. though)
Another interesting video Marq and somewhere not far away to visit. Nice you mentioned my home town of South Shields. I am afraid we have never flown First Class.
@@marieascot Don't forget Arbeia - The Roman Fort on the Lawe Top. We used to walk through the Tyne Tunnel and visit Percy Main steam train sheds, gone now of course.
Such a great place to visit I went often when I lived in Horley and worked at Gatwick Airport. I was once upgraded to Premium Economy on a Virgin flight to Miami that was very nice but never first class. Thanks for taking time to share this with us 👍🏻💺✈️
Good film Marq I'll have to visit sometime
It's worth it.
Great presentation by Mike i must get down there.
A great walk around. Reminds me of visiting Cosford and Duxford.
If you haven't already, you should check out Bovington Tank Museum.

That is a great museum. Been there a few times but not been for a while. Will make another visit soon!
If you go there on Saturday 25th February, my friend is invoved in a 1940's Event.
Amazing! I've never heard of it before, unless it's the relocated and renamed museum that used to be near Horsham.
I think it's been there a few years.
You should visit Brooklands they have a recreation of a flight on Concord including the vibrations.
It's an upcoming Video.

There is a Lincoln Bomber that is said to be 'haunted' (I know you hate tat word) at RAF Cosford museum.
Probably no more haunted' than anywhere else. Marie.
