Yo I balled my eyes out when i heard Nightmare as i read the news. Ryan was a year older than me, and I’ve been following his videos since I was about 12 when he’d post guitar tutorials. Even now as an adult, I’d revisit those videos when I’d pick up my guitar. Celebrity deaths have never bothered me, but this one was a shock to me. Rest in peace ryan and thank you for the lessons and the beautiful music you’ve made.
That line choked me up the first time I heard it, along with the next line ("No peace and quiet from the noise in my mind"). I have ADHD and that nailed it for me.
What a 3 volume time capsule of some of Ryan's best work to lead us into Fatalism. The crushing bounce of Inhumane, the soaring leads in Nightmare and graceful nuance that let Jamie put his heart and soul into Overflow. Thank you, Ryan, Thank you, Polaris. Thank you so much.
I’ve already have shed a lot of tears already from “Nightmare”. I’m emotionally preparing myself for this one. Ryan you were a gem in this world brother. Your lyrics in the songs you wrote sure resonated with the things I’ve went and have been going through. The beautiful thing about music is that it never dies and you will always live through the songs being played. Love you Ryan! The rest of y’all keep trucking it because Jamie and the rest of the band brings it!
Holy hell... If I wasn't already feeling everything, the very end of the breakdown sure broke me. Absolutely incredible, and I don't know what buried pit of trauma this came from... but I'm so glad it's out in the world now. Let's hope more people can appreciate music like this for the brutal stab to the heart that it really is.
How will I ever listen to this album without the tears? The lyrics on this are stunning and the way Jamie delivers them with such powerful vocals really makes this track stand out. Now that we must face the future without Ryan, this song is even more meaningful. I have all the feelings about this tonight - I'm overcome with sadness and I'm also really proud of what Polaris has done here. This album is exceptional - part of a legacy that will be treasured. I can't wait to own it.
Hearing this Song... knowing there is one beautiful soul of this guys so missed... chills.. Ryan would be so damn proud. Wherever he is he will be proud of this! ❤
This song describes me so perfectly. I have never ever connected with a song as much as this. On the outside, i have everything I need and want. But I'm just suffocating every single fucking day. I can't sleep, I can't breathe. I just feel so unimportant. It feels like I'm dragging my feet through mud every single day just to survive it.
Words cannot describe what I’m feeling right now… Thank you so much Polaris for all you do for this chaotic world. R.I.P Ryan Siew, Fly high you amazing artist! You’ll never be forgotten and always be remembered for the beautiful music you created!!
One of the best metalcore songs ever written. I thought Polaris peaked with tracks like "Masochist" and "Martyr", but I am so glad to be proven wrong by the songs on Fatalism. There is no other band in the world right now that drags empathy of one's own anxiety and depression to the forefront the way Polaris do. Every note, every line, every song, they come from the heart, and this band captures something truly, TRULY special. I, for one, am thankful just to be able to bask in the music they have created for all of us.
Still honestly so shook, Ryan you will forever be a massive inspiration to me and many others. Can’t wait to see you boys in Melbourne. It’s gonna be emotional but let’s do this for Ryan ❤️ RIP Ryan
R.I.P Ryan… You and the band have touched so many more hearts than you will ever realize and given a large number of us the fight to keep pushing. Thank you for everything.
I Feel The Lifeblood Freezing In My Veins The Antidote Is Just The Poison By Another Name Where Do I Shelter When It’s Raining Inside No Peace And Quiet From The Noise In My Mind I Don’t Bend I Break I Can’t Go On This Way 🖤🤘🏻 REST IN PEACE RYAN 🖤🇬🇧
I’m addicted, afflicted and I’m dying to heal I said I, lost years to future fears (This can’t happen again, it cannot happen again) Now I’m fearing the worst I’ll break my habits if they don’t break me first 🔥🔥 god damn boys you've done it again.
What a song. It still devastates me…. Seeing this legend putting out this epic music and to know this is not going to happen again…. R.I.P. Ryan. Thanks for the inspiration!
What a song this is. Ryans songwriting ability will never cease to amaze me. RIP legend. Also, that fill that Dan plays arouns 3:00 is absolutely filthy
Oh my god, this song SLAPS, literal tears hearing the heart and soul poured into these singles boys, rest easy Ryan, can’t wait to hear the rest of the album and see you guys in newy 🤟🏻
Ive always felt connected to Polaris’s music. Since Ryan’s passing ive felt even more connected and its an understatement to say I appreciate what this band has done for me. I genuinely felt i knew the words before i even started the song. The impact Ryan and this band has left on me is immeasurable… RIP RYAN SIEW
2 months since the album was released & after countless listens over & over again, Overflow is the banger for me. Cracking song with the feels, screams & crunchy guitars and those oh so punchy drums.
I’ve never related to lyrics so much in my life, I’ve cried a few of the 50 times I’ve listened this today. Polaris will Forever be my safe space. Ryan forever 🖤
As a 691 year old man, I haven't been this excited for a young group since Guillaume de Machaut released his hit ensemble "Messe de Nostre Dame" in the summer of 1326!
I still cannot belive he is gone, but he will never be forgotten. Thank you Ryan and all members of Polaris for the amazing music you put out, it is really beautiful. The clean vocals are just amazing Jamie. This album will surely be my AOTY. I love you guys!
What an emotional masterpiece. This might end up being the best Polaris album yet and that’s really saying something. Kings of metalcore. We love you all! Ryan forever ❤
Can't even begin to imagine what you guys are feeling right now but I know Ryan is stoked and smiling right now for all of you. Can't wait for the album
It really feels like you guys are trying out a lot of new sounds and new elements for this one and I’ll be damned if they aren’t all HITTING. Really looking forward to this record, much love
Dont even know him in person...but watching all his videos and seeing him become this....really makes me sad. They say everyones time is set in stone....i don't believe it. R* RIP*S
After deep consideration, this is by far the best album of 2023. Among all genres and music. I havent felt raw emotion like this for a long time in the metal industry. As much as i love the hypertuned overproduced djent adjacent stuff coming out there is just something incredible and special when music comes naturally. Not to say this band does not have great production value, but the flow does not feel forced whatsoever. Which is really difficult when trying to create music that typically comes with a lot of 'troupes'.
What a banger! This album is gonna kick ass, cannot wait for it. Got a feeling its going to be the metalcore album of the year. Keep up the good work guys.
God this album is going to hit like a freight train… rest easy Ryan…

I'll be at the show at Margaret Court Arena, and I fully believe the crowd there will show Ryan a proper tribute and blow the roof off that arena.
@MorkaiAU I can assure you, here in the States, especially here in Seattle, we intend to do the same to the Showbox.
Ryan Siew Forever
Miss ryan so bad will be forever in my heart and soul
