8:02 Agreed this films is miles, miles, miles better then ''Madman'' IMHO. Another great job on very underrated slasher film both Brian's did well in the film bro
the burning is on a lot of peoples list of favourite 80's slashers. the way cropsy was portrayed was fantastic. really well done. my only problem with the film is the bully character. i know they made him particularly obnoxious to make his comeuppance more satisfying, but he actually legitimately annoys me.
The original US release of this in theaters and video was pretty heavily cut. The cut comparisons are on a RUclips video sourced from a Canadian VHS from Thorn EMI. This version was cut more than any of the UK BBFC versions. The death of Cropsy in the US release has a horribly obvious jump cut when the axe hits Cropsy's face. Excellent Review Matt. I too enjoyed The Burning.(1981) I remember renting it on VHS back in 2002 along with Jennifer: The Snake Goddess (1978) Jennifer was a very weird rip off of Carrie (1976) & The Burning (1981) was a great slasher flick.
there was some article released recently about which movie is better, the burning or madman. i have to say, for me, madman runs at a much slower pace. although it has some good scenes at the end and atmosphere, i was expecting a lot more. to me the burning is the better movie.
Good directing, likable cast and a fantastic special fx from Savini which is much better than the first Friday, maybe equal to part 2. The only thing I didn't like is Alfred (terrible actor) who was annoying perv who can't even run properly (should of died).
Hi Matt. Great review but it motivated me into putting on Madman first. Matt I need to ask you something, did you get some previous messages from me through 'paypal over the past 3 months or so. I took some sleepers while doing it but mainly I'm worried that you got an imposter (using your rambobeast Avatar) and I'm sending to someone else and not you. It's T from the UK. Thanks
Hi there. I did get your paypal. Thank you so much...I had no way to email you back since youtube took away the 'messaging system'. But I do thank you very much for that.
@@ramboraph4life yeah I did know that you couln'd message back on PayPal so wasn't expecting A reply. Send one a few days ago and another today (to be honest the second one today did by accident I was stoned a bit haha, no worries it's all good. A happy accident✌ So Matt just confirm there is two today and one was about 6 weeks ago. Just confirm that one and it's happy days 😀
Hope you get. to,Halloween 2 re review very soon .

The Burning is such a good film.

Hey Matt have you ever reviewed Hell Night with Linda Blair?
hey sonnyblack71 i just uploaded a review of Hell Night today.
there was some article released recently about which movie is better, the burning or madman. i have to say, for me, madman runs at a much slower pace. although it has some good scenes at the end and atmosphere, i was expecting a lot more. to me the burning is the better movie.
This is one of my favorite slashers. I like the cast and character i liked the killer in the film and it has some decent gore kills at the end.
The Raft Scene is the Best👍
Good directing, likable cast and a fantastic special fx from Savini which is much better than the first Friday, maybe equal to part 2. The only thing I didn't like is Alfred (terrible actor) who was annoying perv who can't even run properly (should of died).
The hospital scene reminds me of the scene in Mad Max, I think that's what inspired it
Agreed
Didnt somone only send you the DVD of the Burning?
That might be. Again I can't remember.
Leah Ayres is still fine at 62.
Bob Weinstein isn't much of a problem. Obviously, it's his brother Harvey who we should be worried about. Luckily, he's now in prison.
This is a good flick
You are wrong! Best scene is of course the shower scene!
Such a classic of the 80s; a one and done movie, no sequels needed. Great review as always Matt
