There was a wealthy owner back in the 1980s - who had a zoo with exotic animals - a little southwest of the plaza. We were allowed access because the owner knew our great grandfather.
Love your videos. Thanks for doing them. We will be traveling to Ajijic in a few weeks as a sort of fact finding/discovery trip in the hopes of retiring there in the near future. I do have some questions maybe you can answer: 1) can we bring our dogs into Mexico? 2) do you recommend bringing our own vehicle into Mexico or purchasing one there? Why? 3) do we need a special visa to live in Mexico? 4) is it best to rent a place before buying and how difficult is it to find a rental that accepts dogs? Thank you for any help you can offer with these questions. Jacki

Beautiful Jardin! Tell us more about the house. How did you find it? Where in Ajijic is the house located? How many bedrooms and baths? How much is your rent? What, if any utilities are included?
Hi, Troy. Finding houses is no easy task. If you're interested in our general procedure (which is by no means fool proof), just send me an email and I'll share it with you. Chuck.Bolotin@BestPlacesInTheWorldToRetire.com The house is located about a 5 - 7 minute walk from the square in centro. 3 bedrooms and 3 1/12 baths available to us. (It has one more that was locked.) We've been asked not to share the price we paid, other than to say that, from our perspective, it was quite reasonable. Utilities were not included. We just learned that this house was rented again, so it is not currently available, but if you would like, I can put you in touch with the agent who manages it. Just send me an email.
where I'm from (San Diego California) we call them "hell's bell's" or "angel's trumpet's" the are said to be very psychedelic when brewed into a tea, just be careful I've heard of a lot of people losing they're minds on that stuff
Hi. Dogs Dream Spa. Good observation about the pond, but Jet may not have mentioned that the turtle pond wasn't stagnant- it had a motor to circulate the water that came on once a day.
Best Places In The World To Retire listen i grew up in the tropics and if u want to get rid of mosquitoes then you need to get rid of that pond or maybe leave a pump water fountain 24/7.

I love this tour, and the enthusiasm of this lady is magnificent. What a great treat, and showing how we see Mexico at times. :)
What a house for just 2 persons!

I think your mosquito problem has something to do with your stagnant turtle pond

Good information, Dogs Dream Spa. I figured if the pump went on once a day, that would be enough.
It's an acquired taste. A bunch of disjointed concrete and brickwork added on by a secession of various owners.
So, theft is pretty bad in Ajijic? We were wondering.
