    I like this little ritual. When I got my Tarot Deck I performed a cleansing ritual on them. I placed in a circle of sea salt and passed incense over them to rid it of any energy they may have absorbed whiles in storage.

    Thanks for the video. I have a question:
    Let’s say I bought a tarot deck as a souvenir two years ago, and it’s been sitting on my desk for that duration. Would I still need to bond it or is the mere fact that it’s been in my room enough?
    Genuine question so I apologize if it’s stupid.

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  4 месяца назад +8

      Hi, I'm sorry for the delay - no excuses other that I'm an idiot who pressed the wrong button! Okay, so yes, you will still need to bond with your deck. The fact that it's been there will speed up the process because you've been energetically linked with it but if you want to start working with it you need to reset the intention. It's all in the intention. Hope that helps and any other questions please feel free. By the way, no such thing as a stupid question - ever! I love them, it's why I now teach ❤️

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  4 месяца назад +5

      It's not a straightforward answer this, because I don't like to force a bond, it's either there or it isn't and the Tarot works energetically. By classic, do you mean Rider-Waite? If so, use the RW as the training deck, write the keywords on them until you no longer need them and then start working with a deck of your choice. Does that help? ❤️

  • @TeeQuila19

    Do you ever "interview" your deck with a 5 card spread? Or perhaps there are other spreads you use?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  3 месяца назад +6

      I must admit I don't interview my decks but I know many who do. I bond with mine very quickly and try a couple of readings out. If it doesn't gel I don't work with it, but if the channel is open pretty much immediately I know the deck is one of my team. I've just started using the Tarot of Traditions and this is just a little bit of me! We love each other immediately. The spread I use to dive in is always the Celtic Cross, because it's an in-depth reading and it has to make sense. Hope that helps ❤️

    I received a 'color-your-own' Tarot deck which I am slowly working my way through. I am new to Tarot, so still learning. I colored the backs of each card differently and am wondering if that will affect the way sitters choose. I also worked on this deck as a meditative tool for stress reduction during a very difficult time. Any special cleansing suggestions or other thoughts on using this deck?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  27 дней назад +1

      Yes, different coloured backs will affect a clients choice but that's not particularly a bad thing. However, it feels as if this deck was your 'introductory deck' bringing you gently into Tarot. For example, mine was an Arthurian (30+ years ago) which was perfect for me because I loved the legends of King Arthur. I fell in love with the magic and mystery of tarot and was hooked. It was an extremely transformative experience and healed me deeply. Fast forward a few months and the deck was such a part of me that I didn't want others to touch it and I just knew it wasn't going to be my working deck because part of my soul healing was involved. I then bought my first Rider-Waite-Smith deck and my readings changed overnight, less soulful and more practical which is very important for readings as most clients want answers to practical questions. I have spent the rest of my life in partnership with the RWS and together we have served thousands and now teach others to do the same, a very good result, and I still have my Arthurian for personal deeper reflections. I would suggest the same path for you ❤

    • @mrkmbb
      @mrkmbb 27 дней назад

      @@TheTarotShopUK thank you so much for that thoughtful response! I was thinking of getting another deck (especially after seeing the beautiful ones you use on the channel), however someone told me you're never supposed to buy your own but rather a deck should always be gifted to you. It sounds like that may not necessarily be correct though.
      (I also love Arthurian legends!)

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  27 дней назад +1

      @@mrkmbb A fellow Arthurian, lovely to meet you ✨Being gifted a deck may make the practice feel more special and traditional, but it's not a rule. Many tarot readers happily (myself included) Buy their own decks and form a deep, meaningful connection with them. What truly matters is how you feel about your deck and the personal relationship you build with it. ❤

    I found a deck of tarot cards with drawings of cats for my beginnings. It didn't look serious but all the tarot card names were there. I thought maybe just for learning, and I have and love cats, so...Anyway, I didn't do like you but I just took them out one by one to learn the meaning of the cards, could I hold them after wards and say the welcome and thank you greetings then? @user-uf3fx9ek4y 11 дней назад

    Thanks for your lovely video! Here is a small question. I found that you did not shuffle them randomly to mix the cards upright and reversed. Is this because your reading does not need a reversed version?

    • @TheTarotShopUK
      @TheTarotShopUK  10 дней назад

      Ah, that's because I don't read reversals. It was how I was taught all those years ago and I believe that beginners don't need to add any complexity into their readings. It's a mammoth task to remember 78 cards let alone double that amount so I teach and use the spreads and the negative cards (of which there are quite a few) to display any conflict/blocks or challenges. A reversed card causes a pause within the readers journey through the story and I like the readings to flow from beginning to end. I also think it's a cultural thing in the UK that we don't tend to read reversals, which in itself is ironic as it was the founding father and Brit Arthur Edward Waite who heavily introduced the concept of reversed meanings. Interestingly, this was validated at the Tarot conference I attended last year when the speaker asked who read reversals and she met a sea of blank space. It appears I'm not alone! Does that answer your question? I may have overexplained slightly 😉❤️
