Can't believe im only now finding out why and how Dustin Hoffman and rain man won 4 oscar's, its now the 3rd of August 2023 ,what a brilliant dad and son .Thanks for uploading these videos. Blessings from Ireland.
He said Barry influenced him more than anyone but we all know the truth. His greatest influence is his dad which is a great man and a great parent. Kim is an exceptional person, and his dad is an exceptional father. I salute him.
being famous... thats one profession he seems to be doing extremely well... and getting grants for being a study object.. the man holds the keys to unlocking more of what our brains are capable of
The interesting part is the Morse code connection. DOT DOT DOT DASH is Morse for the letter "V". "V" is Roman numeral for 5. Beethoven's Fifth symphony sounds like DOT DOT DOT DASH. That requires a bit of knowledge, plus connections that I certainly didn't see. Like most ideas, they are easy once you get them. The trick is thinking of it first.
"they're gonna fortify mexico", "well they have to do something about illegal immigration" "they should legalize immigration" hahahah simple solutions to our countries big problems. Hes a Great man with a great mind!!!!
Kim is gentle, kind, sweet and wonderful. I have a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and am working on getting my Masters and in the years since I finished college I have yet to see anyone like Kim. I don't want to meet him to ask him questions. I want to meet him just because I believe the world lacks people so full of love and obviously Kim is full of love. He is so wonderful. I just love him so much.
lauren daugharty BUT a BEAUTIFUL PERSON !!! I loved how he touched people !!! Look into their eyes !! Told them “You are an Important PRESON “ Genuine LOVE ! He WUZ such an easy book to read ! No care bout your color ! JUST YOU !! I would like for someone to tell him “THeY we’re smarter than him !! 😂😂 Kim would like dat BATTLE !!
I love the way that Kim Peek says his name. By the way, this man could go on any "Who wants to be a millionaire" or Jeopardy and is almost guarenteed to win.
I think he would crush Who Wants to be a Millionaire. But I think he would have had difficulty with Jeopardy! Jeopardy! has directions that must be followed, such as answering in question form and understanding the playful and abstract themes of the categories. I think Kim would have struggled with that.
I have an autistic brother, and he is in no way as dependent on me and my mum as Kim is on his dad. I think that Kim Peeks has every right to show off his talents and make those people who believe that they can laugh at disability think twice. He's a truly amazing man, and it's a shame his talents weren't broadcast before Rain Man was released. He's an awesome man; as is his father.
Why should he need to? If he is happy then what is the problem? Sure life can always be better, but that goes for everyone all the time and as long as the human race keeps on living. Infact, by the looks of it he is more happy than most of us are.
i would honestly love to spend a day with him! besides his EXTRAORDINARY gift, he has such a sweet sense of humor even if he doesnt realize :] he is an amazing man :]
+NotKelbie You have evidence confused with proof. There's plenty of evidence for God. The teleological argument, the moral argument, the Kalam cosmological argument...
Because he's such a unique mind. He processes data so differently than other people. I want to see what kind of answers his output would contain to such questions that have a number of already similar answers between all the people that can think to contemplate them. I don't suspect a concluding answer to the questions. It's just a little experiment I'd like to occur.
Someone should tell the makers of this documentary that Kim Peek did not make the connection of morse code V with Beethoven's 5th. Kim Peek read it in a book. During WW2, the BBC used Beethoven's 5th famous beginning before every radio broadcast because it resembled the morse code for the letter V, which stands for Victory. Victory in WW2. Kim Peek didn't make this connection. He read it in a book. Us regular humans found that connection way back in WW2.
Ever heard of the Indian monk named Swami Vivekananda? He had 18such qualities. His spiritual master told his disciples about it and said that if any human were to have even 1 of these qualities he would be world famous. Sadly monks don't go around showing these skills. But nonetheless its fun to watch savants who do! I absolutely adore Kim Peek !!
IMO, Kim is a great man. Despite what they call his disabilities, he is able to perform in some very accurate shows. I realize that the word show does him injustice, yet it's the best word I can find. I hope that humanity won't forget men like him, because it would be a great loss. Intelligence on his level is very hard to come by.
@jansenescu i think instead of obligation, he was doing it out of his free will. and yes, i think his father is amazing. taking care of his son for 58 years, by his son's side, every side day.
@LucielStarz123 being a nuerology student can you answer this for me please.. how common IS the birth defect agenesis of the corpus callosum? I was dx with it at age 12 from an MRI and also ventriculmegaly. and WHY can't I find a family doctor who understands it??? I too have quite a photographic memory and nearly perfect hearing which I can use to diagnose car problems without a mechanics stethoscope. I'd be happy to share my experiences and digital MRI pics with you.
Kim : Now there's a plan to fortify Mexico. Father : Well they got to do something about illegal immigration. Kim : They'll have to legalize immigration :-D
kim was admirable but his father should be an example for all of us how he took care of his son even tjough hiis wife left him and even though the first doctors they saw told him to insitucionalize him and forget him !
I've always read the encyclopedia and any other reference books, listened to everything in hopes of retaining it, and experience life to improve my knowledge of the subject, and why? Because of Kim Peek.
@@CoolCat123450 Sorry, It sounded ridiculous to me when I read that - like you are a childish. It's just absurd for me to read encyclopedia or sth like that in hope of retaining information ( maybe for public school it isn't so absurd as this institution is absurd itself ). As I said I also sometimes read fragments of some reference materials out of boredom, but mostly I use them in a normal way when I want to check up sth. People are made to remember meaningful, useful, fairly simple information, because remembering sth comes with it cost (like in case of Kim with ability to actually think abstractly - he can basically only recall somehow all of those facts). I admire Kim Peek. He was truly unique. But I don't wish for savant abilities. Im glad that Im normal and healthy. Well, going outside is certainly natural and healthy and improves knowledge of the world. Physical activity is especially important for learning also! Im glad you still replied under a comment you made 10 yrs ago. Cheers!
@@albertpiekarski4569 I was childish then. After dropping out of college and working a few warehouse jobs, I'm left with having a wealth of useless information and doing nothing with it. But we all grow up eventually and that's all that counts to me.
@@CoolCat123450 Nice. Some questions if case you'd like to answer them. What were you studying(cos I see you subscribe to some math channels and Im considering studying math)? Are you from the US? But were you seriously reading some reference materials hoping to become like Keep Peek? What do you do currently?
He'd know every answer before regis would read any of the choices. You have to qualify to go to that show first and he wouldn't get accepted because there's really no challenge for him. It's just he walks in and they would have to hand him the money because they know he'd win it anyways. No challenge what so ever.
Why is it that just because I did not mention Kim Peek's positive abilities, you feel that I am ignorant? Must I say that he has a memory and a knowledge base like no other person to ever walk the planet? Just because I do not include something which has no place in statement does not mean that I am ignorant to it. It's just as bad to blind ourselves of one's disability as an ability, either way you are not seeing everything which is what it seems like you are trying to do.
@jansenescu poor guy? he's looked at with awe by just about everyone that sees him and after rain man came out he was very confident.. dude that guy had a pretty cool life

My children and I were blessed to have met this man. He was absolutely incredible
"I may be the star but you are the heavens" was said by Dustin Hoffman to Kim. Still beautiful words about a beautiful intellect.
Mr. Fran Peek, thank you for taking such good care of your son! I'm so sorry for your loss.
R.I.P Kim, you were an amazing man and a terible loss
I'll never hear Beethoven's Fifth the same way ever again.
I HAVE A HUGE RESPECT FOR MR FRAN PEEK! THANK YOU FOR GIVING HIM A GOOD LIFE! YOU'RE A GREAT MAN! GOOD BLESS U AND RIP KIM PEEK!!
someone should make a search engine dedicated to this guy and call it "AskKimPeek".
he's brilliant. and he lived out his destiny. rip.
I love Kim so much. He's amazing. Watching every video about him I can find.

kim peek is going be at a study in madison wi.
and he chose my school; Thomas Jefferson to show himself out.
