Culturally for us Latinos we love our parents and families so much. So their approval and their state of being; mentally, emotionally, physically, financially etc. Is so important to us. We would do anything for them, and I get why santi gets emotional because it’s a huge weight and expectation for us to do the best we can for them because we love them! I respect santi so much for speaking on his situation and being open about it!

I can definitely relate to what he said about how his mother and father reacted to him. I come from a blue collar Mexican American family. Because I was always in the top 5% of my class, there were all these expectations that I was going to choose a successful profession and “make it” (financially speaking). In all honesty, the pressure I felt to follow a more traditional education and career path was out of love and my mother wanting the best for me, but what they didn’t understand was that having a bachelors degree wasn’t the same for my generation as it was for them.

Both of these Latinos deserve their success. Santea talking about his mom is really relatable to me. As I have old fashioned Latino parents who don't understand social media. Santea is one of my biggest inspirations to eventually start RUclips! I know I'll have success and I'll be able to thank my parents. 🔥💯

When Santea was talking about how his mom wasn’t understanding and was scared of disappointing his mom, it made me shed in tears because us Latinos never want to be a disappointment to our parents knowing they worked so hard to give us a better life

It’s so refreshing to see young Latino men be able to sit down with each other and discuss the hardships they face within their journeys. The vulnerability santea and Leo show in this video is just a great display of breaking down toxic masculinity and will hopefully influence other young Latinos to be more open amongst their friends. That being able to express yourself and cry in front of your friend is not any sign of weakness but just evidence that your human. I don’t think they understand how important this video is to a young upcoming generation of Latinos boys who can often grow up in emotionless households. I wish both these boys the best bc they truly are doing something we have never seen before in America.

Santi is such a sweet humble genuine soul the way he talks about his mom you can just tell how much he loves her I’m genuinely so proud of the both of you the impact and representation for us Latinos is amazing keep grinding and doing what ya doing!!🖤

  • @JReyes-iw8tt

Santea I know it was hard for you when you heard your mom say that. I'm a mom we want the absolute best for our sons & daughters. I only have sons and it is so hard to be a parent to boys. Your mom is also learning. Sometimes parents reflect on how they were growing up. We all have to just understand times are changing. Every generation is going to be different. Lead your path and learn along the way. But don't ever forget that when being a parent it is hard to let go but we will love you unconditionally. Best of luck to you. God bless you and your family 🙏

This was super refreshing to watch -- two young Latino men being vulnerable and so outwardly grateful. I wish this was the beginning of a series of interviews/sit-downs. Really loved how you didn't interrupt each other and just genuinely listened. Loved that. Wishing you both nothing but continued blessings!!
