I just had my full octagon barrel Stevens Favorite relined. No more keyholing! I do have to use less powerful cartridges because the 6 O’clock extractor is worn and lets the case expand some. So I need to talk to CPA.
I have a 1915 it was in 25 rimfire. The rifle had been left in a barn or a storage room. Dirt dobber bui.t a nest and six in he's of barrel rifling was Bad. I remarried to 22 MRF. Copied the barrel conture . However am adding a lyman target scope. Old school scope.
@RecoilTherapyChannel yes sir and the liner, the drill process and a chamber reamer. Rental on a reamer and a drill . Plus cost of liner. Pushes the cost up past 350.00. Cheaper for me to put a MRF 22 barrel on it. It still shoots and looks close to original.
Good evening sir! I have a similar issue where the lever has some play in my 1915. Any idea which part I should look at replacing to tighten that back up?
I want to say I paid around $600 or so, I don't have the receipts handy. It took a few months to get everything done. One other thing, the serial numbers on these old Favorites don't seem to mean anything. They apparently started over every year and there are also letters assigned to some, further adding to the confusion. None of the factory records survived to help clear things up either LOL..... You can get parts, if needed, from CPA Rifles, here's a link... www.cparifles.com Al's webpage is down for some reason. I would use the link above for CPA as go-to for any needed work on one of these rifles. Their quality is exceptional in every regard.
I’m not aware of anyone using it. A lot of guys use store bought lube, either DGL or SPG. Haven’t heard of anyone using alox base lube with black powder.
I’d like to but jobs/life/money is getting in the way. Difficult to try and update this channel right now. Anything Raptor related is colossally expensive.
sir i am located in PNW and seen the SEA sticker and see the range you shoot at is my range. very few of us shoot bp at that range and i have never bumped into you.
@@RecoilTherapyChannel have a 1877 shiloh 45-90, 1874 shiloh 45-70 (took a bison with it, if interested there is a place in WA) , Cody Ballard Long Range 45-70, Axtell 1877 45-70 and a Cody Ballard LR 40-63 Ballard (my new project). Would love to connect if possible, spend a lot of time on Shiloh forum .. getting a 1885 HiWall made by Wyoming Armory as we speak and learning about CPA from your videos
Should add was planning to shoot Quigley back in 2020 but COVID hit, and since then really havent thought about it. Am planning to get ready for 2023 (I have a range in Sprague that has metal out to a mile its more a PRS range, but am going to see if i can spend a few days out there prior to Quigley to get me dopes etc).
He said Wow!
I like that old beater stock.
I was looking at this project the other day and I might stick with the old stock…just has more character.
Wow! It is a work of art.
Absolutely stunning work of art!👍
Excuse me Sir,,,but,,,,did you say,,,,"WOW"???? LMAO....I agree, may I add my words,,,,WOW!!! That IS SO COOL... thanks buddy
Okay darn it now I want to send mine in! Awesome 👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
I vote for the old wood! Just my opinion! Take it with a grain of salt!
Very nice project. Just sand the wood down level with the brass escutcheon on your forearm. Cheers
Nice looking rifle
Beautiful

Yup CPA can supply all the internals for a Favorite.

If you still have that old barrel, you can get it relined to the original caliber for not much money. Great way to keep old rifles shooting!

Maybe the main spring. Look up CPA rifles, they have all manner of parts for these old guns.
@@RecoilTherapyChannel did you give up on fixing yours? Was hoping for a new video on it’
@@godfishnkicks1707 got sidetracked. It’s sitting in the safe. I’ll try to get it going.
My lever is a bit sloppy, looking forward to seeing you address that issue here 🙂
You'd think the new one would have a little extra wood not less
How much did he charge you to do all that? And what is his contact? I have just bought a really old one like that. serial number? 79

Is that flame hardening or true case color hardening ?
It’s case hardening done by C Sharps in Montana. It’s similar to the case hardening on my CPA rifle, just a little different pattern.
Just watched your bullet lube video, does anyone use lube made with the original alox 350 and beeswax for bptr
I’m not aware of anyone using it. A lot of guys use store bought lube, either DGL or SPG. Haven’t heard of anyone using alox base lube with black powder.
Any updates coming soon to your raptor therapy channel?

Mostly all I do there is load development since we are limited to 200 yards.
