It has to be both sides. The parents have to explain to their kids that when someone new comes there will be changes. Then the kids could understand and try to adapt.
True. But I'm curious as to why Jody would think a French resturaunt is a good follow up to a kids t-ball game. Clearly neither adult paid attention to realize she wasn't doing well.
To all of you children out there whose parents are divorced, if you feel bad about not getting what you wanted and you and your mom or dad went somewhere your mom's new boyfriend or your dad's new girlfriend wanted to go and you think that they love their new boyfriend or girlfriend more than they love you, don't be afraid to tell them how you feel. It won't hurt their feelings if you tell them how you feel.
Kids do tend to have a problem if they're parents are divorced or widowed and then start seeing someone else and consider getting remarried. Kids Jody's age are a little too young to understand the feelings that her dad has for Becky but as they get older they understand better. But parents always love their children and will always be their parents no matter what happens. Plus there are certain things kids won't be able to fully understand about their parents until they become parents themselves.
Something I really like about this show is that Jody just lives with her dad and doesn't see her mom too often. Because usually when parents get divorced it's the other way around kids just live with their mom and don't see their dad too often. I appreciate that because dads are often viewed as second class parents. This show proved that wrong.
My cousin's parents got divorced when she was a little girl but she pretty much spent equal time with them. Some days she'd stay with her dad and some days she'd stay with her mom. Even though they're divorced, her parents still get along.
@@alexanderpytko5394 Getting divorced isn't always because you fall out of love sometimes for financial reasons or if you do have kids sometimes parents will get divorced and take turns raising them because it might be easier for them

That part where Sizzle accompanies Jody while the latter sings, it makes me want to hug one of my cats, it makes me want to do so even more when Sizzle purrs.
My parents have been divorced for 14 years and the trauma still lives on deep in my soul. What Jody went through eerily reminds me of the time my dad met up with another woman who was unrelated to me during my time in high school, and it didn't feel pleasant at all. Soon my dad became too busy helping out with her business (which has long closed down) to spend time with me, and that made me feel alienated and more disconnected from my fragmented family. As I could no longer find belonging in my family, I looked to outside outlets to compensate for that disconnect, though I admit results have been mixed at best.
I feel your pain, Jody. I have those same problems sometimes too. Not that my parents are divorced, but that fact that I didn't go to A&W. My mom will be back from the bank at any moment now, and she's not taking me to A&W, but to buy new shoes for school tomorrow. I just hope we'll be able to go to McDonalds after we do that. But anyways, so you say your father loves Debbie better than you, it's not the end of the world.
Jody's dad looks a bit like Danny Tanner from Full House. In fact watching this episode feels like watching an episode of Full House except that Danny's daughters never had any problems with the women Danny had dated.
Yeah, the conversation that Jody and her dad had is quite similar to the conversations that one of the girls would have with Danny at the end of Full House. I wonder if they made it that way on purpose. It doesn't seem like that's Bob Saget but maybe it should have been.
There is a difference Jody's parents are divorced So it's harder because her real mom is still alive and probably still has custody of her Danny Tanner is a widower So his kids don't have a mother's care.
