I think I could relate since my friend used to work with an animation company in Japan. Now whether that be true or not I think they all boil down to a set of writers and artists inside a gaming studio on which will be decided how to depict a character (it’s all always on the call of the main director on which is Harada) and they there’s the story of word by mouth only spread between co-workers than whatever is told in the news outlet. And high chances, like in America, everything is hands on especially if there’s less descriptions about the character as told by the director to the team.
So tired of the overdone joke of "Law is poor." & "Even when Law gets rich he instantly becomes poor again." Honestly whatever happened to the Law that could toe to toe Wang Jinrei? I would say Law is the Dan Hibiki of Tekken but even Dan has more respect than Law at this point.
The thing you are not getting is that with Law and Paul. They are two of the strongest fighters in the tekken universe but they are really crap at like.l doing things unrelated to fighting. This has been going on since Tekken 1. They are strong. They can go toe to toe with super devil kaz and jin if they wanted to. But they have problems outside of combat. Yes it is possible for some one to be a beast in a 1v1 fight but be absolutely dog water at like paying bills.
I miss the more sympathetic version of this. In Tekken 5, he was struggling financially because he was paying for his son’s medical bills from a motorcycle accident. That felt real and relatable. Now it’s just “I LOVE MONEY!!!”

In Tekken 5, he actually had a reason to want money so bad. He was a struggling businessman trying to pay his son’s medical bills after an accident. They actually could've used Law's Tekken 5 motivation to explain why he joined G Corp in Tekken 8. Perhaps his son Forest is on the verge of dying, and he still hasn't been able to pay his bills, so now he's very desperate,. The funny thing about Lei is that even though he's kind of goofy. I don't think he has ever actually been treated with any real disrespect. Lei isn't a bum and is considered to be a super cop. In his endings he is usually washing fodder or trying to give somebody a ticket. His love life isn't that great but the man isn't a bum and wouldn't get washed as badly as Law did by Lili.

TBH I have no idea what Harada is smoking about his endings with Martial Law, his endings has always been comedy since like Tekken 3 (he’s not in the game but Forest’s ending) The only good ending he ever had was like in Tekken 6, for putting a laxative on the Pizza. Tekkens 1,2 and 4 were least damaging. 5 is forgiving for having the best interludes at least his fight with Jinpachi is serious. In sort, they turned Law into the R-Truth of Tekken. Even if he’s champion there’s one way it’s going to be comedic. Now Harada fulfilled his purpose, I think by Tekken 9 he may no longer be involved.
Man Asuka used to have potential as a character of her own like that female protagonist into the same verse, only for Harada to turned her into Makoto from Street Fighter where she has no pure victory despite winning against Lili. And her closure with Feng went nothing, so maybe because Leroy defeated him last tourney then that counts as a win for Asuka.

They turned Law into a joke character since Tekken 5, and now they turned him into a fodder for out of context humour. They don't acknowledge that since a decade ago, millions of people play Tekken just because of Law as Bruce Lee made martial arts popular in the media.

In Tekken 5, he actually had a reason to want money so bad. He was a struggling businessman trying to pay his son’s medical bills after an accident. Sure he had a goofy ending, but he at least had a real character arc in his backstory. Now he’s just arrogant and greedy.
These endings would be fine if they were in a Tag Tournament game. But a main storyline game should have way less joke endings. Also Law joining G Corp in the main story just because of a money dispute with Paul is ridiculous.
They actually could've used Law's Tekken 5 motivation to explain why he joined G Corp in Tekken 8. Perhaps his son Forest is on the verge of dying, and he still hasn't been able to pay his bills, so now he's very desperate,. I didn't even try hard and I already made Law less of a joke than the devs did lol

The funny thing about Lei is that even though he's kind of goofy. I don't think he has ever actually been treated with any real disrespect. Lei isn't a bum and is considered to be a super cop. In his endings he is usually washing fodder or trying to give somebody a ticket. His love life isn't that great but the man isn't a bum and wouldn't get washed as badly as Law did by Lili.

Tekkens 1,2 and 4 were least damaging. 5 is forgiving for having the best interludes at least his fight with Jinpachi is serious.

Man Asuka used to have potential as a character of her own like that female protagonist into the same verse, only for Harada to turned her into Makoto from Street Fighter where she has no pure victory despite winning against Lili. And her closure with Feng went nothing, so maybe because Leroy defeated him last tourney then that counts as a win for Asuka.

I really don’t understand it. Mortal Kombat got their Bruce Lee as the main character in their game and look how good that did. Street fighter did a great job as well if not for his gameplay but the character itself is perfect. I just cannot understand how they have his look perfect, his game play is almost as perfect as it gets for recreating Bruce. They just throw it down the drain with his lore. I really thought they were gonna redeem him this game. Also how is the yellow 1 piece not in Laws character customization 🤦🏻♂️
