- Hello! Welcome back to the Chapter 2 Podcast. For my second episode, I had the amazing chance to sit down with one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars, Aamir Khan!
While we’re all familiar with his public persona and stardom, this episode explores a different side of Aamir- the friend, the father, the son.
In our conversation, he shares his experience with therapy, his regrets as a son and father, and his vision for the future at 59.
This episode is even more special because I’ve had the privilege of calling Aamir a friend. He is one of the few men I know who openly embrace their vulnerabilities. He isn’t afraid to cry, ask for help or acknowledge both his strengths and flaws.
We discuss our views on healing and forgiveness, spill some beans on his childhood and QSQT days, and much more!

Aamir is such a good listener. She is talking so much and he is validating and listening so well. The poor girl is so traumatized about her past that she is talking and talking because he is listening to her sincerely.
70% Listening and 30% talking is a recipe for a good podcast or interview. Ask the right probing questions and let your guests do the talking.

The thing that I love the most about Aamir is his honesty. He doesn't claim to be a perfect person and admits that he has his flaws despite being one of the most successful creators. I am amazed by the kind of human being he is .. lovely episode
Also, what is it with calling his actions as 'abnormal'. His humility and honesty are an outlier for sure in Bollywood, but the term is 'outlier', not 'abnormal'. You can't be so casual with your words when you call such respected personalities.
Well he was very proudy at the beginning of his career. He even made divya bharti cry for hours in bathroom he s full of himself😢

honestly speaking i dont think she was just interrupting, she was really making some clever remarks. Example : she said 24 ghante bhi mat baitho family ke saath which was a very wise remark . also when he said hamesha ke liye family se upset thodi na reh sakta hoo she corrected by saying jaruri nahi hai in some cases forever family members ek dusre se khafa hote hai which is true. I have hated many interviewers because of their non sensical interruptions but she is different. Icing on the cake is she is beautiful 🙂. I really loved her podcast!!

You must understand amir is very self-conscious. Other interviewers keep it, systematic and formal, he doesn't like that. As he stated here, he doesn't like to be the only highlighted person.
He calls her "his friend" but not other interviewers for a reason. He needs that friendly chaos, that other people's speedy, curious reactions. He likes to hear others perspectives which for him only rhea provides for now. If she changes he won't enjoy these interviews.
It takes high courage to publicly accept your mistakes. Hats off to superstar #AamirKhan the legend of hindi film industry..

As an aspiring psychologist, I find it commendable how Rhea has overcome adversity and is now flourishing in Chapter 2. It also takes great courage for a superstar actor like Aamir Khan to accept his flaws and promote mental health awareness and the importance of therapy.

I always knew Rhea is innocent ❤ because the way she was blamed for the things she had no fault at. The phase was so difficult at that time, the media didn't even let her grieve properly for the loss of a loved one.
It needed no rocket science to figure that out. Indian media needs to be made responsible for defaming someone. Instead of making people aware of mental health and drug addiction they were out on a witch hunt.
The media acts like an assassin, driven by the quest for fame and TRP, often crossing all limits without any evidence.
I wanted to hear your story Rhea. I always felt the country was vilifying you for a crime you didn't commit. I see a lot of people saying you talk a lot. But in subsequent seasons of the podcast, they will come to appreciate it. Just be yourself. 💖

Hi Rhea, awesome job, loved the interview! You asked great questions, and I feel that this is one of Aamir Khan's best and most personal interviews (and I've seen quite a few of them).
He was very honest, personal, open about his own challenging experiences in life, and I felt you handled each question, along with the discussion, quite maturely and warmly. Given the deep and highly-personal subject matter (especially with a star like Aamir), I'm sure that this probably had its own challenges, and I felt you handled everything so smoothly that you made it look easy.
It was nice to listen to and watch the conversation, and I learned a lot of valuable things. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next episode of Chapter 2! Let's make chapter 2 a great chapter, hopefully the best of your life. And after chapter 1, I have faith that you will rise far beyond anyone's expectations and shine in whatever you choose to put your heart into.
And while I noticed the supposed "interruptions" that many others in the comments are talking about, it seemed to me that they were coming more out of your excitement and genuine desire to connect with Aamir, and that you felt genuinely happy to be understood and have someone with whom you could connect with, so don't worry. Keep it up, you can do this :-)

Rhea, you did remarkably well. Knowing that you had a flying start with Jalebi, what you faced and experienced later on was unfortunate and too much for your age. You are doing well and keep up the good work. BTW, great ambiance and graphic work. Hope to see more episodes.

I still remember when everything was happening with Rhea. My 15-year-old sister came to me and asked if I knew about how bad of a person the actress Rhea was. I asked her just one question: "What if she is innocent, and all these people are making her life hell without any fault of hers?" Then my sister said, "You’re right."

I seriously wish Aamir would stop beating himself up. Through twenty five years of following him via media, I have seen enough pics of Aamir with first wife, second wife, kids, mom, all. Like many dads he has been busy with career but not really ignored his family. On the one hand you have an 'I am the best ' constantly crowing superstar.. And this man Aamir who on a Karan Johar show termed himself average actor, husband, father, everything, a 5/10.
Not good , so much humility, in these self trumpeting times.

Never seen her act on screen. Don't know if she's a good or not so good actor. But what happened with her (and her family) was absolutely terrible. How she dealt with that was commendable. That's why I'd say she's such a strong woman! May she get what she wants in her life.

Lal Singh Chadda was an excellent film..story was a little unrealistic like a fairy tale, but was comic movie and only very sensitive people can like that movie. And the matter of fact is a lot of people are not sensitive in this world. Amir you shouldn't blame yourself for the success of a movie. Financial success depends upon how the mob would be pleased and mob is pleased by commercial and superficial things. Success of a movie should be judged not by its financial success but by how many hearts the movie has touched.
