How To: Flexi Rod Set | Natural Hair

- In this video I show you how I get these bouncy soft curls using no heat. Flexi rods are a easy way to achieve beautiful curls on all hair types..
Perfect style for work, date, party, and more! also this is a great style if you have heat damage or transitioning out relaxed hair!
*If you fail your first time trying.. try again! It took me a few times to figure it out when I first did flexi rods.. follow all the directions and you should be able to get it!*

In this style I used 20 flexi rods. Let them dry over night. You can use a hair dryer to speed up the process! which ever you prefer. With this style I preserved my curls by putting them into two pineapples and then wrapped my hair in a silk scarf.. check out below on other ways to preserve your curls.

This looks great, your hair is so beautiful! I've only ever done flexi rod sets on my hair when it's blown out but I think doing it on my natural/kinky hair would give it so much definition. Will definitely try!

Why don't my flexi rod results never come out as good as yours 😩
I have a problem with separation. The curls come out like yours but when I go to separate they just die and turn into a frizzy mess. I tried oil on my hands and separating with the curl but it's a hot mess everytime
+Alyssa B be sure you're separating where the curl natural separates when you touch the section of hair. The more you separate the more Frizz you may get!
After you separate you can twirl/coil around your finger

Your flexis came out wonderful but be honest what would u prefer the orange perm rod or flexi. I feel like I can conquer the same LOOK with orange and white perm rods. Is there a difference in the hold of the curl or does it last longer?
+Bee Kimble with the flexi rods, my curls are more elongated compared to using Perm Rods. With Perm Rods I feel like I deal with more shrinkage
I do not understnd the roll and twist technique. Ive watched other videos and my curls dont llok lke this. I have the same hair texture. how do you kow which way to twist which way to roll? How do you know if youre doing the same pattern on the next curl? ugh

How did you feel about the gel? I ask because i used it for the flexi rods and it came out cute and now i am thinking of using it on perms rods. Just wanted to here your review of it.
+Rhanika Perry the Gel is GREAT! I loved how it didn't cause flames which almost all other gels I've used do. And for a Gel it made my hair not feel dry at all.

I tried it before but hair was much shorter and I don't know if the rods I use where to small but it stated for like 2 days I didn't know how to keep it up I have similar hair to yours but I can't do hair at all lmao I usually top bun and or blow out any extra tips

ok so my hair is really short. like it only goes to my neck and it doesn't continue to grow at all. and it's dry. there's alot of breakage probably because I use my flatiron so much. and I am struggling with my hair. my hair starts out thick near the scalp but then gets thinner towards the tip. I would love some pointers from you. and I would like to know how long did it take for you to notice a change in your hair once you gave up flatironing and perms. I currently have on weave but I would like to see my real hair.
+Jen Monroe give your hair a nice little break from that flat iron! lol I swear it was the best decision I made just to get my hair healthy again. I dealt with what you're dealing with too. After I stopped using it I deep conditioned my hair and did monthly protein treatments. I started seeing changes about 3 months of no heat. Also every few weeks I trimmed off the damaged ends. Now my hair is healthy again but heat damaged is gone. And next time I decide to flat iron my hair I'll be sure to take the right steps so I won't have any damage.
Jen Monroe try ginger root. google it or check out youtue . its the holy grail.if you dont like coconut oil try jojoba, avocado or olive oil. there are so many healthy oils that are beneficial for your hair. of coarse dont touch your hair and do lots of heatless styles. goodluck :-)

Actually Ashly thanks! My roots won't hold the rod no matter how tight I roll and how I bend it :( they always unravel so the rod is like halfway down my hair
