I don’t know what the lyrics to this song mean, but here’s the picture that came into my head as I listened: The princess sits in the cold, dirty cell, thinking about how she got there and how far she’s fallen. Her once-spotless white dress is streaked with mud. Just how did things get so bad so fast? Perhaps it’s her fault. If she’d been kinder, less selfish, maybe she wouldn’t have hit rock bottom like this. Perhaps this is the destiny she deserves.
