    Oh I can't wait to virtually take this one! I loved the Den-Lax flight you took the day before! That was a gem! I put on some Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell to accompany me and just chilled out! Man I love his music! If you haven't heard of him, check out his music here or on Spotify. I first heard him in 1978, and after hearing an interview with him in 1982, I was smitten. I hope to see him in February when he comes to Atlanta. He's such a nice guy, and he's a huge inspiration to me along with several other amazing musicians and singers. He still flies on commercial airlines, too which I think is great! One of my favorite singers is Joni Mitchell, and she has a live version of "Amelia" where he has a solo.
    I'll follow up on this flight next.

    3 things. No flap select for to, long takeoff run on the reef and a very long landing roll.>>>

    • @bradjohnson8750
      @bradjohnson8750 2 года назад +1

      Flaps were actually set at takeoff. Minimal setting though.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      As Brad mentioned, there were flaps selected, it's just hard to tell. The first flap setting on the 717 is very hard to see, but they are selected here. Thanks for watching my friend!

    When I worked in HNL years ago we used to make the OGG run to hand-deliver legal documents. Land, rent a car, deliver, drive an hour back to OGG, return car, back to HNL.

    Ma Nature sure gave you a pretty ending to this trip/vid, with that nicely timed rainbow. And I'm still trying to figure out when the wheels actually touched the ground on that landing. Lotta butter there, it seemed. :)

      @sla31  2 года назад

      Definitely couldn't' have asked for a better ending, that's for sure. Both with the touchdown and the rainbow! Thanks for watching my friend!

    Great fly! Have you ever stayed or visited TWA Hotel located on JFK Airport in New York City? They have a room that you can view a runway and planes takes off/landing.

      I haven't ever been there. I want to, but haven't ever had the chance. It was higher on my bucket list when I used to do more spotting on the channel. I've kind of gotten away from spotting though, as I don't connect through DFW much anymore, and I haven't been to SXM since Covid started.

  • @heatherstub

    One thing's apparent. I hear more on the left side, and I know it's just a little off balance. That engine buzz, however, is awesome!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      Well that's not too surprising. The 717's engines are tail mounted and I am sitting in the back, on the left side of the aircraft. So, this is very different than my usual seating positions on aircraft with wing mounted engines, where even though I'm sitting on one side or the other, I'm still in a more centralized location in relation to the engines. On this flight, I am literally inches away from the inlet of the left engine. I mean, literally inches. So, it's extremely loud, meaning the left engine literally overpowers the right engine when sitting here. Thanks for watching my friend! I'll get to other comments later. I'm dealing with a sick wife and child at the moment, so duty calls.
