Mines black too, all the other colour schemes were not doing it for me at all. I'm having some fun on it but I'm still breaking in the engine. First service in 3 weeks time.
Yamaha just needs to release a Tracer 10 and I'd be lining up to trade my 900GT. I think this engine almost sounds better than the RSV4. Awesome video as usual Schaff keep it up!
Agreed. The CP4 has a more bassy sound that makes it a bit more V8ish to me. A Tracer 10 would be NEAT. Also a XSR1000. Yamaha is losing a ton of money here.
Great video as always. Perfect filming, perfect riding, perfect sound, perfect editing. I am relly considering to buy an mt10! Thank you Schaaf for sharing, keep it up!
I'm 50 years old. 9 bikes in my life. I bought this bike a few months ago, and it is by far the most fun I've had on a bike in long time. Love it.cant get anough ride time...
Depends actually. The place I'm from it was the rarest of things for us to spot a "superbike" (basically an inline-4) growing up in the 90s uptill late 2010 to 2012 and it's been basically just a decade since it's become more familiar to see ZX10r, S1000rr, GSXR 1000s etc on weekends. So for us we've yet to grow out of the typical inline-4 sound (and not the cross plane). Hence if you'd ask anyone here (including me) what sounds more glorious and pleasing to the ears... I'd say 99% would choose the sound of 10r, Gixxer, H2, s1000rr, Street triple over the crossplane R1, Panigale V4 or RSV4 etc.
@@TheTwinPost That’s interesting. I do get the high pitch wailing sound reminiscent of the old cigar shaped formula one cars of old. The best sounding of which to my ears is a straight pipe Honda CB750 four. They have such a raw and yet elegant sound to them. I’m not an advocate to loud sounding bikes but I do excuse that bike for being so. The big V twins and V fours are what please my hearing. Maybe the v four mostly. They drive my senses into childhood, making me feel like I’m playing a world war 2 pilot hunting down a Messerschmitt Bf 109. Yamaha have done a very good job of making the inline four sound so great by using that cross plane crank. In the first part of the rev range it sounds like a twin but in the second part it sounds like a wailing F1 car. Best of both worlds.
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus I totally understand your thought process... I myself own a parallel twin with 270° firing order which sounds amazing (I too dislike loud exhausts). But my next upgrade would be a triple or an inline-4 and I want to fulfill my childhood dream of owning/riding that before moving ahead with something like a V4 or a crossplane inline-4 which gives that MotoGP vibe.
@@TheTwinPost I agree. You would do yourself the best service if you gradually upgrade. Makes the most sense. Most people, including myself, went for bigger bikes immediately, thinking that they’d be the better investment financially. My reasoning was that I’d not have to change to a bigger bike and loose money on the exchange. My riding wasn’t that great back then and being on a bigger bike meant that advancement in learning was slower. You cannot afford to make mistakes on a bigger bike because it will hurt more both physically and financially. It was only when I bought a smaller bike as an everyday rider did I really start to make good progress in my riding. I still ride a smaller bike every day. It is very liberating in its own way. My current bikes are a CRF250M and an MT09SP.
Another great video! The MT10 soundtrack is fantastic. Your recording method clearly has something to do with it as well. As good as the MT10 sounds, it is a close second to the sound of the Aprila Tuono, even up through the Euro 5 version.
I have an MT-03. hahaha. When I get better on the bike, I might decide to get the bigger siblings. Man, that MT-10 is such a sexy bike. Glorious ride around the twisties too.
@@tempofugo168 yeah. Although I'm thinking of getting a mid sized ADV or something. I enjoy the touring aspect of motorcycling. So maybe a CB500X from Honda, a Kawasaki Versys 650, or the Suzuki VStrom 650. More on Japanese brands since parts are easier to come by in my area.
@@tempofugo168 I heard rumors about that Honda. Dealers here don't have a test unit for me to try on though. I have tried the vstrom but it is a bit more expensive compared to the 2. Amazing video as always, Schaaf. The intake inlets really makes it sound the part. Yamaha did an amazing job. The sound and performance combo compensate for the dreadful looks. Question: are tose brief rear tire squeals caused by agressive downshifting or rear braking?
