The most lovely episode. Alan Ludden and Betty White had just been married. To see this icon....decades before she really hit it huge...she was astounding...and sweet. Alan was young, engaging but proper and professional....and had the some of the elegant banter of What's My Line. What a great era for early television.
Betty White *did* play very well. She gave good clues and the partner gave good responses. It's refreshing also, to have all the people playing, be tuned into what the other side is guessing.
I don't what you guys are complaining about with Jack Paar! I might've complained about him too on other episodes, I don't remember, but on THIS episode, I saw absolutely NOTHING wrong with him!

Kinda...I was living in Irvington, NJ (30mins from Manhattan NYC) about 20 years ago and one summer stopped in a local park to catch a free jazz concert. To my surprise, there was Joe Morello playing drums in one of the groups. Come to find out he was living right in town...never knew it. Don't think he ever moved.
His replacement on 'Tonight', Johnny Carson was no better on Password and certainly had no less an ego, but more living today saw Carson nightly, so saw other redeeming qualities...Paar, they didn't see much, if at all. Reading about it and living thru it isn't the same. 'Tonight' inventor Steve Allen had high praise for Paar. Not apologizing for his performance here - many of the stars, especially comedians and talk show folks talk and wisecrack too much on this show because they are so use to 'performing' when the camera's on, instead of simply concentrating on the game. The best Password shows are when the chatter, wisecracks, and tangents are minimal.

Love Berry's giggles she has and looks she gives Allen. Definitely tru love. Married all of 10 days
@@sharonyoung2568 *Love Betty's giggles and the looks she gives Allen.
Watching this tonight, when Betty has gone to join her Alan. I always loved them as a couple
and I'm happy that they are back together.
It is always funny when Jack Clark is laughing when whispering the password to the people watching at home.
I LOVE that we can watch these for free! Thank you so much! I will always adore Betty!
Betty was the whole package, beautiful, smart and funny.
When Allen first comes out and says "Hello Doll" he is saying hi to his mother-in-law, Tess White.
Betty's adorable!
RIP Betty White! You will be missed!
I like so many celebrity players on Password, but Betty White is the GREATEST!
Coming up with "automaton" for "robot" was genius.
Of course. Betty White is literally the QUEEN of game shows (I don't think there's ONE she hasn't been on)!
17:42. That is the look of pure love between Betty and Allen.
*Allen & Betty were just married a few days before* 🧡
Married qll of 10 days

That's why she was so giggly! Lol.
Are you sure?
The ending was so sweet will you take me 🏡

she always did (on ANY game show she was on..... and she was on them ALL lol)
Betty seemed so nervous and under pressure this episode. She is terrific though.
Betty is so giggly, is nice to see
Great episode!
Betty White was always the best female guest star. Very smart, a very good player.
And this was on my birthday ... my17th. ♥
6:27 is super cute, with Betty and her partner shaking their heads at each other with smiles.
The me word 🐣 cracked me UP !! Blessings from California. 🦋
Me too!
00:39 Allen giving a shout out to his blow up doll. 10:00 Slenderman making his entrance.
what'd you have in mind, Allen?
The attorney in the first game looks and sounds like my father.
Love your Channel ❤️
Do you happen to have the one with Lee Remick and Stephen Sondheim?
thanks for the comment! I'm afraid I haven't gotten my hands on that one yet
wow, Sondheim on Password? with Lee, no less....had to be somewhere between March-April 1964 while 'Anyone Can Whistle' was in production.
Betty is the best
I think Betty and Alan make a good couple,,,

I feel sorry for any contestant that's paired with Jack Paar. He just goes for the laughs.
It was really unfair.
And what kind of idiot looks at the word "maple" and doesn't say "syrup"?
@@lawsonj39 you? 🙄

1st guy looks like Joe Morello from Dave Beubeck's band!

When the great Betty White guessed the word romance the score became 6 to 9 coincidence? I don’t think so!
6:54 hahaha
Wasn't the term working girl a term for ladies of the night ?
Not saying I could much better, but Jack Paar was just awful in the lightning round. In contrast, Betty was just as good as Jack was awful
Betty White wasn't well known at the time. I wonder why she take her husbands last name
Relocate.
14:32 - 14:48 WTF
I can't believe I'm getting angry watching a show from 63. Jack Paar was such a jerk!!
And he always gets away with it because he acts like a precious, fragile victim at almost any turn. Massive ego that twat had.
The more I read about him the more I despise him...

...Jack Paar...acted low-key jealous of Allen and Betty’s relationship...with his passive-aggressive humor...!
I think he's mad 'cause Betty is such a tough opponent!
