A fantastic lecture and absolutely spot on. My daughter refused to sit in a school lesson where her teacher, in a PSE lesson for 15 year old, told her that the day's lesson would be on the subject of the "gender bread man". Not the gingerbread man of lore. Other Muslim pupils left with her snd sat in the school library doing their homework.

Masya Allah. An intelligent and clear video that explains the LBGTQA+ etc etc movement plus making it clear our beliefs and moral values in Islam. This lecture is informative, sensitive and tackles taboo matters in most islamic communities. I like how the Sheikh makes it clear how we muslims based on beliefs on the Quran and Hadith whilst at the same time sounding firm and clear we should not feel the need to buckle to peer pressure. I wish more muslims would listen to this lecture especially parents and teens and young adults.

It's a common error to accept people and all of their actions (without distinguishing between good and bad) once we come to close contact with those people and witness either their "good hearts" or their difficult situations. When we contact them, we see their "noble core" or compassion takes over given their hardships. As a result we ignore their misdeeds and justify their sinful acts. However we have to distinguish wheat from chaff and be on the side of their righteous and normative behaviors and not accept or justify their mistakes and harmful behaviors. The same is true for ourselves and our actions. If there's no good or bad, there's no point in doing anything, because when we act, we already make the judgment that the new outcome will be better than the current situation.

Philosophy: The philosophy of morality is when you compromise your personal desires for social progression, it’s an ethical/proper behaviour even if you like or dislike something.
Theology: A true God does not guide people to commit invalid/useless/purposeless actions/falsehood “Batil” - in Arabic, whether it be worship of false gods or self-harm, or following self-opinions other than one true God's, as it is unnecessary, hence becomes “batil”. A true God does not need dependence on anyone/thing therefore ascribing partners with Him in His worship is invalid and forbidden.
Same gender indulgence is “batil” because it is purposeless, both biologically and socially, it will not help in procreation nor does it help in social demographics. And one of the purpose of humans’ creation as per theology is to act as successive stewards. And one cannot be or act on divine stewardship if they are following their own desire.
Biology: Human body parts are for particular functionality, if you are not using them for their intended purpose and indulging in action just for pleasure or thrill and other subjective desires, then you are basically doing invalid action. Therefore, sodomy is forbidden whether with male or female, also same gender sex or trying to become opposite gender by transforming genitals or body, are unnecessary, hence are invalid action in God's sight, because you are doing what you want, not what you are intended for.

I want more masjids and Muslims scholars talking on lgbt issues. I am Muslim I love Islam but no one chooses their sexuality and if a Muslim had a choice he/she would always always choose to be be attracted to the opposite sex and never the same sex but since this isn’t a choice. What are community leaders doing to keep lgbt Muslim youth on Islam. Opening the conversation up, how did the prophet pubh deal with effeminate men, how did he deal with men who didn’t have any sexual desires for women. What were the norms then? What’s accepted and what’s not? Mental health support with examples from situations from Islamic history. A lot of people deal with mental health issues growing up thinking there is something wrong with them, feeling suicidal etc how can Islam be their saviour instead of the thing that makes them turn away from this beautiful religion.

Aoa , I live in NY, is a psychiatrist. Just recently was talking to my another friend , she told me if I am post menopausal around 55 and have no intention to get married or any desire to draw any one’s men attention then I can beautify myself by doing Botox or or other minor plastic work on face even though I don’t wear face cover in front of other men . She was saying even I don’t need to do parda , like wearing loose attire, cover head and chest . I know one thing although I am 55 now , but if I don’t wear head scraf , cut my hair , do some minor surgery on face , put makeup and wear somewhat trendy cloths I will be attractive to many person or may be other men or women will praise me . She is saying if I do it for myself or my husband and intention is pure , I will be off the hook . I feel if I beautify myself and go infront of other men and he praise my beauty even my intention is pure I will be equally responsible. Please clarify , I will really appropriate your opinion on this acc to Allah and rasool (pbuh) can you give reference to any of your lectures where I can find the answers. Jzk

I just read about this recently in “Muslim Women and the Hijab Veil”. You still need to dress modestly. Loose fitted clothing is best, but yes, they say hair covering isn’t necessary after you’re no longer an attraction for most men.
The Botox and surgery is a different story. I’m assuming they go along the same lines as tattoos, but I’m not sure.

No one chooses to be gay, and it's not only about sex. It's also observed in over 500 species, though for humans, it's also about the inability to even fall in love with the opposite sex. To feel romantic connection and fulfillment. And gender dysphoria is a real struggle that also drives people to suicide. gender dysphoria can be observed in brain scans. People can be born with hormonal imbalances and be born intersex and we as muslims, who pride ourselves on being in line with science, are really going to deny science now? We don't have to pretend the *actions* are halal in order to understand that these are real human experiences and struggles, have empathy and compassion for people or recognize that there is still a difference between LGBT people who are otherwise righteous and the people of Sodoom who were violent, promiscuous and adulterers. It's easy to say being LGBT is a choice when you're not the one who has to live with it, especially if you're trying to live a chaste life for Allah or refrain from medical transitioning, etc.

So i guess there is nothing wrong with calling them by what they want to be called. If "he" wants to be called "she" or "they" then do that. If you dont, they will find it rude and be rude to you. Besides, by calling them with their selected pronouns, you arent partaking in their sins. As far as we are concerned, we dint know what genitalia they have. If they say they are male, we cant prove otherwise. So just call them "he".

I love the fact that you are very respectful when addressing this topic in a way that it does not push people away from Islam like the other so called scholars of today do.
What I'd like to comment on it is the opinion you made "Default that ALLAH created only male & female, attraction to be of opposite genders" Is actually your Opinion Sheikh. Do not attribute your opinions to ALLAH...
ALLAH created everything, its in the Holy Quran. So to say ALLAH did not create one, two, three is to actually misrepresent the truth of creation.
ALLAH created Good & Evil but HE chose Good for us and forbade Evil.
Nothing would exist had ALLAH not created it...
One might say Same gender attraction is natural like opposite attraction since is exists in nature as we observe its Prevalence in constant numbers, a number(minority) which does not transgress the boundary.
However the sexual actions(sexual Immorality/sexual Intercourse, relationships) is haram according to the Law of ALLAH. That I do not deny. Its explicitly clear in the Quran.
But at the same time, all these people are the children of Adam. They are creatures of ALLAH. ALLAH created them however HE has not permitted certain actions that they may desire to do.
But at the same time, this does not mean they fall out of Islam just because they were created in a certainly different way than majority.
Had ALLAH not willed Islam for such people, HE wouldn't have created them.
HE wouldn't have sent Lut to a people who commit such actions, to Spiritually liberate them and cleanse them from such immoral actions.
There is a place for everyone in Islam who wants to serve ALLAH for life regardless of their Sexual Orientation.
However ALLAH has PERMITTED and FORBIDDEN many actions for everyone... This is reality of Islam.
Islam should never be limited to sexual orientation. Cz it was never meant for Heterosexuals only. But it was meant for all mankind.
I conform with the view of calling all people to Islam. ALLAH will judge HIS people, not me.
So long as people worship ALLAH alone, that is enough for me. What they do is not my problem. I have my own sinful actions to worry about.
I took this advice from the Quranic story of Luqman. He was a believer and righteous and he never picked his nose on matters that do not involve him and he stressed his son to worship ALLAH alone and never associate partners with HIM. That is the Islam i follow.
Like Rabbi Tovia Singer says "We all have opinions" if I try to follow all worldly opinions, I will definitely be misguided, however "The opinion of ALLAH is what matters"
Attack me all you want, I don't care but I will not conform or agree with any Muslim who speaks to deny Islam to others those of a different sexual orientation in the name of what" Islam teaches".
LA ILAHA ILALLAH. NO god but ALLAH alone.
    That is enough for me.

Also there is hikmah in breaking things down. Being direct isn't always effective. This is not just a talk for those well grounded in Deen. It's more for those who struggle with religious convictions. They need more of an explanation and justification. I think the Sheikh did a great job addressing quite a controversial and difficult topic.
Let's remember the time the Bedouin came and asked the Prophet SAAWS how we know there is a God. Rasoolullãh SAAWS didn't just reply "Just accept it". He broke it down in a way that the Bedouin was able to appreciate and process.

Shaykh, I disagree with you because Islam does not teach us to follow norms blindly. My understanding is that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) set the best example of marriage and tranquility based on the conditions of his time. However, if a 50 year old was marrying a 6 year or 9 year today that would not be acceptable because it would likely result in abuse. Aisha (PBUH) was an adult in her time and our deen teaches us to consider the hearts of human beings. Marriage is supposed to bring tranquility. Also, being gay isn't equivalent to having a specific preference in the bedroom. Gays and straight people both have bedroom preferences. If god created everything in pairs and knows whats in the heart of each human being, what gives you the right to ignore this when taking an Islamic position? Sharia has never been static. It is the search for goodness and beauty,. I disagree with you because Allah knows his creation and he created gay sheep (yes, around 10% form gay pairs) and gay swans (not sure the percentage but they do rear offspring together). Also, since you cited the Bible, I have to mention that it is written in the Bible that Prophet Lut has sex with both his daughters after the flee the town.

    • @missrose5172
      @missrose5172 2 года назад

      1. It’s not proven that the girls were 9 and younger. There is not much evidence.
While through Islam men started marrying widows etc. in the western world they continued to marry virgins to older men, especially kings and royals. It was all about purity and that the family saw their girls as a burden because they had to provide for each family member.
      2. The basic nature explains how we as humans are able to create life. It’s not through being a pair of the same gender. It’s not about love, if we’re honest here. Also in the past there was a culture where being gay was totally accepted. It’s not that people just right now have started to question their gender and so on. But as it is not permitted - God destroyed these people and their cities. And it became something unknown to us. Being gay or queer or whatever might come up next is a trial and those who believe in their creator are firm in their faith.
      3. Prophet Lut was a human being and since when do we pin down people because they did so and so? If God has forgiven them, they are better after all.

I usually enjoy YQ's talks, however some of the points in this talk are just so wrong. He's assuming that people in the LGBTQ+ bracket 'choose' it. They do not. Telling someone with gender dysphoria to just live with it is so so so so damaging. No one chooses gender dysphoria or chooses to be trans/gay/bi/lesbian etc. It's a genuine struggle for many people, and trying to hide it or deny it causes serious mental health issues (depression and suicide is high in these groups for a reason). He talks about how you can like biryani but not make that your identity... but no one is killing you for liking biryani or saying you aren't a good Muslim because of it. People are being killed for being LGBTQ+. So that's not really a fair comparison at all. I do agree with some points, but a lot of this talk uses poor comparisons without understanding the nuances of being in these groups.
    Sincerely,
    Cis Queer Muslim

But Intersex, Hemaphrodity are also Cisgenders....
These are the genders that ALLAH assigned to them at birth.
    🤔
Dear Muslims remember ALLAH created everything. So just because HE refers to male and female most in the Quran does not mean HE did not create the others genders.
Remember ALLAH created that which we do not know...
Remember that ALLAH does not make mistakes...
So to limit gender to only male and female and ignoring these other existing genders that we see today is to misunderstand the Quran and that happens when we miscontextualise the verses of ALLAH.
ALLAH created everything forces our interpretation to include all forms of creation.
How can you limit ALLAH's power to your limited understanding?

Transgenderism is not simply a choice that pops up in people's heads for no reason as most scholars view it.
It's actually deeper than that. You don't know the internal sexual conflict that trans people have to deal with in every day of their lives. Give people a chance to reason what is inside of them. Don't be quick to judge, you are not going through it.
I find it difficult to understand why a Muslim would be addicted to Alcohol and Sex(Zinah) even though such sins are clearly condemned by ALLAH in the Quran.
Answer is ALLAH is all knowing. You and I don't.
So it's very easy for Heterosexuals whom ALLAH placed gender and sexual contentment in their hearts to speak against transgender people because transgenderism is not something that heteronormatives have to deal with in their lives.
Never judge someone's situation until you experience it.
Reality is, we cannot experience other people's sexual variations because ALLAH has assign it to them and to us our own...
I don't know much but I wait for ALLAH to address these issues on the day of Judgement as HE has promised in the Quran.
"WE will respond to you O prominent beings."

People need to be clear about the judgment in the Sacred Law regarding "transism." This is especially the case given the level of propaganda and brainwashing promoting the behavior.
As for alcoholics or drug addicts, you don't typically find them deeming their behavior to be noble or good--and their isn't a propaganda campaign trying to coerce Muslims to say that alcohol or dope is halaal.

      @@facetofloorSalaam My brothren in Islam.
Nobody is cohesing Muslims to believe that Transgenderism is Halaal or Dope.
I for one DO NOT KNOW but I know that we have trans people in our society today, our kids are asking about them and I will not teach my kids to hate other human beings or deprive them the right to exist in the name of islam.
ALLAH made it EXPLICITLY clear that HE created every single human being....
So to claim that there are only 2 Genders and denying the other genders(hermaphrodity and others) is to misunderstand the verses of ALLAH. Did Hemaphrodites create themselves? Or were scholars witness when ALLAH created them? Why are we playing god to each other deciding who is created and not?

@@facetofloor Scholars would say its okay if ALLAH has created you with desires for the same gender but they will Contradict themselves by saying ALLAH only created opposite genders to attract each other that is the "Normative"..... Is that not cutting out from creation the minority that is attracted to the same gender? Is that not hate speech?
Remember ALLAH warned us from declaring halaal and haram that which we have no knowledge of(in the Quran), hence as a human being I humble myself out of fear for ALLAH and I wait for HIM to judge between all of us on this subject.
Scholars are human beings, they are subjected to ERROR hence I agree with Dr Shabir Ally that we need to establish room for REINTERPRETATION of AQEEDAH in light to our current understanding of the world today... We cannot limit our understanding of TODAY'S WORLD by relying on scholarly opinions of ANTIQUITY.
Athabarih, Al Bukhari, Imaam Mujmal, Imaam Mufasal and other scholars had no understanding of our world today. Had they lived amongst us, their opinions would've been influenced by our current living.
Truth is Heterosexual Muslim Scholars have not done thorough studies on Gender & Sexuality, therefore 99% of them are not qualified to speak on this subject in light of the Quran... Many of them use their personalised opinions on this subject and they often impose their personal interpretation of the Quran as the only truth, nothing else exists beyond their interpretation. And that is wrong. We do not approach the verses of ALLAH like that. Only ALLAH can give us explanation of HIS own verses.

ALLAH said the Quran explains everything, I believe that with no doubt but at the same time the phenomenon of transsexuals, the DNA, Proteins, Amino Acids and so on are not discussed in detail in the Quran. But we know they are creations of ALLAH which we recently have discovered, because all knowledge comes from ALLAH.
Muslims would often quote a verse where ALLAH condemns those who changes the creation of ALLAH as proof against Transsexuals.
But that verse is in context with Satan deluding people to pluck cattle ears, cattle have will, they refuse such actions out of pain but they cannot talk for themselves.
So we don't really understand that this verse should apply generally? ... Hence instead of acting like deputy gods by playing the card of "I am knowledgeable" let us agree to disagree and wait for ALLAH to decide the true interpretation.
Verily ALLAH is the disposer of all affairs. ❤️
Matters in HEAVEN and Earth are all brought up to HIM.

ALLAH told us in the Quran that human beings were created with sharp eager of ever disagreement. That is why the very same scholars are fighting each other and are turning Muslims against each other🤦🏽‍♀️wallahi Dawah is slowly turning into a mess nowadays because scholars cannot humble themselves and leave their disagreements to ALLAH's judgement.
And also ALLAH says There are clear cut verses that we cannot dispute about such as the Monotheism of Ar-Rahman.
But ALLAH also says look how HE has diversified HIS verses to multiple meanings, however their TRUE meaning is ONLY known by ALLAH.
ALLAH also spoke about Male servants who have no desires for woman where in HE permitted woman not cover around them because they are not a threat.
Male servants with no desires for woman. Are those not gay man or asexuals? I don't know, only ALLAH knows. Scholars who oppose the reality of Homosexuality never bring this verse up because they know it destroys their limited understanding of the subject.
All I'm saying is let's not deny people from creation and existence.
We do not know why they are different from majority.
Only their Lord knows cz HE created them.
So let us wait for our Lord to explain these differences
