"You fill me with inertia" is my favourite lyric of all time. Note how Dud sings a song pleading with the girls to love him but Pete sings a song where he's a distant bad boy...and the girls all prefer that one! Very subtly done.
I remember watching the film with commentary for the remake and Harold Ramis surprised me by stating he didn't understand the original film. I just couldn't believe it. I vary much see them as two different pieces and not comparable at all. The original is intellectual and the remake is goofy. I do wish the minions had been used in the remake I think they were a nice touch.
Great chords. Dudley with an Oxbridge music degree. Very competent musician and composer. Muscially better than most of the stuff it is parodying. Shame he didn't do more in this vein, but check out The L.S. Bumble Bee too.
I can't imagine anyone like the Inbetweeners or Noel Fielding ever touching this level of comedic brilliance, and executed with such understated confidence.
I've been waiting for years for the chance to play this song over and over again. Was never able to find the soundtrack album. A huge inspiration for me as an artist.
Saw this when I was a much younger person and it seemed amazing at the time. Comic and dark in equal measure, especially loved the bit where they were selling froony green eyewash
I've just purchased this film after seeing it on this site, fantastic! Can't wait until it arrives to watch it on the big screen. Thank you for uploading xxx
Pet Shop Boys? Uh, yeah maybe, but SO many musicians have seen this film, it would be hard to point to all the influences. As to the comment about the VU, this didn't predate them..they were playing a couple years before this film came out; although you'd have had to have been in the Lower East Side to hear them, which I wasn't, unfortunately, but I read! :) Peter Cook is smashing in this role, and I will never forget this song! Thanks, poster!
I've always wondered - when this film was first released, did Peter and Dudley possibly appear on an actual British TV music show and perform this, to promote the film? Because they should have.
This is also my fav from the movie, and I like Peter's part of this segment even better than Dudley's before this as well, but it is even funnier when contrasted with Dudley's bit, because he sings exactly the opposite (I need you, love me ...) ...
They have yet to release a Region 1 DVD, but if you've got an all-region DVD player, you can pick up the R2 version. Also, you gotta love how George Spiggott never blinks throughout the entire film. Brilliant.
I would love to hear the b-side of “Bedazzled” from the 45 from Drimble Wedge and the Vegetation! “Bedazzled” is def in the running for best fake band song from movies/tv.
Best movie ever. It had such great humor in it. All of these new comedies need to learn a thing or two from the classics! Funny isn't just sex and poop jokes. Funny is this movie!
There's a lot of me ( the 'Devil' ) in everyone? There's always someone better than you! Our weaknesses and obsessions are quite ridiculous?A cruelly underrated movie !!
Yes, nice chords, but dig the crazy beat man. Savage. Goes rather nicely with a cocktail in one hand an almost anything else in the other, wouldn’t you say. A little Mitch-like.
no se pero es un tema tan psicodelico me agrada tanto apresencia de peter que en verdad esta muy lindo en esas toma y la de dudley que enverdad son una dupla genial
I Love this' it's my favourite part of the film. The only good part of the remake was the rock star bit & they cut that out ! Thank you, thank you, thank you again x x x
Cook and Moore at the zenith of their comedy partnership here. Derek and Clive was brilliantly funny but in many ways charted the end of the Cook and Moore collaboration.
This was a brilliant film, I believe Dudley Moore wrote most of the music for it. The remake was such a disappointment. Hollywood just didn't seem to get it.
JazzKeyboardist1 I think given the age difference, she would have to be his daughter. Which would make her the "antichristine ?" Though "Lucifer's Sister" sounds like a good name for an all girl deathmetal band xD
***** good one, but I meant my devil/peter cook has been around since Eve was blowing Adam some raspberry's , some movie remakes have a entirely different script almost like a new james bond movie. While others are like Lilian lust the babe with the bust Looking like Julie Andrews
JazzKeyboardist1 Oh I see, their take on it you meant. Well yeah, they were never going to get close to the flow between P.C and D. M, and a script littered with lines like "what terrible sins I have working for me, must be the wages" and "buy a flower, for deranged criminals" and the touching . Eleanor Bron, with her Lorelei lips, and the randy police inspector sub plot. I feel the remake was always going to be like a Monet painted in acrylics.
This is perfect for getting rid of any unwanted internet stalkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fgs I have never laughed so hard in my life 'I don't want you....... I don't care......' hahahahahahahahahahaha
the first great music video. The music/attitude itself predates the punk alienation by 10 years. GENIUS
I thought The Who's My Generation predated punk of mid to late 70s.
@@garyturner5739 very true
"You fill me with inertia" is my favourite lyric of all time.
Note how Dud sings a song pleading with the girls to love him but Pete sings a song where he's a distant bad boy...and the girls all prefer that one! Very subtly done.
when Dudley more died the music world lost a truly precious talent and a great jazz pianist! thanks again Dud.
from the ONLY real Bedazzled movie!!!
One of the funniest things I ever saw.
Yes that garbage where Liz gets her juggs out is just an insult.
Dudley and Peter were great in this film. This was their best collaboration. God Bless both of you and may both of you rest in peace.
Is there any better line , in any song than "You fill me with Inertia"?
Ha ha! My sister and I loved that when we were kids. We'd always refer to boring people as filling us with inertia.
If there is I have never heard it.
Its it bad that I actually really like this song for its musical value?
I mean, the comedy is top-notch, but the song itself is rather entertaining.
Not at all. It's a magnificent song.
Great chords. Dudley with an Oxbridge music degree. Very competent musician and composer.
Muscially better than most of the stuff it is parodying.
Shame he didn't do more in this vein, but check out The L.S. Bumble Bee too.
Yes they are great chords. Spent last might trying to work them out and it ain't easy.
Not at all, it was written by a master musician!
I've tried to work those chords out too. It's really hard. If you go by the bass line it sounds modal, but it's not at all!
"It's too much effort, don't you ever leave off?" :D
MGM needs to give this movie the proper remastering it deserves and get it out on Blu-Ray!
The real Bedazzled indeed. I've rarely been so excited about a remake (2000), and rarely been so cruelly disappointed.
I can't imagine anyone like the Inbetweeners or Noel Fielding ever touching this level of comedic brilliance, and executed with such understated confidence.
the first great music video. The music/attitude predates the alienation of punk by a decade. GENIUS
"You burn me up"
"Cool it."
God I love this song. I'm obsessed with it. Everything about it is perfect, even Cooks pot belly.
This movie is brilliant.
the Best scene in any movie ever
I've been waiting for years for the chance to play this song over and over again. Was never able to find the soundtrack album. A huge inspiration for me as an artist.
One of my favorite love songs. I totally feel this.
Saw this when I was a much younger person and it seemed amazing at the time.
Comic and dark in equal measure, especially loved the bit where they were selling froony green eyewash
You can't beat the original Bedazzled. Great song, great movie.
This is my favorite movie of all time!!!
PURE GENIUS!!!!
you will be humming this for the rest of the night.
Thank you! This is the only Bedazzled movie! Brilliant!
Great movie, great song and great music video!
The soundtrack to this film is brill!
Best musical ever!!!!! Thanks for the memories, easy on the egg. Nice one!
I've just purchased this film after seeing it on this site, fantastic! Can't wait until it arrives to watch it on the big screen. Thank you for uploading xxx
From one of the best UK films of all time. The entire soundtrack is available to download online if you know where to look.
Agreed!...Cooke and Moore.....beyond genius ✌️
can't stop listening to this and Love Me. I love this movie, especially Dudley and Peter ;)
Classic! Excellent music and directing!
I saw Eleanor Bron at Berwick St market once - beautiful classic features!
This is pure genius! Drimble really lets these chicks have it!
Awesome!!! :D SO freakin' happy someone posted something from the REAL Bedazzled!!!
this is beautiful......does anyone have dudley moore singing "love me"?
A really great movie!Keeps me laughing everytime i watch it.And this is my favorite scene :D
I love the blowing a raspberry bits. Its hilarious.
YES YES! SOMEBODY PLEASE POST THE LILLIAN LUST BEDROOM SCENE! Raquel Welsch...great stuff. This movie is awesome. POST MORE SCENES!!!
you burn me up... cool it
this is one of the most brilliant parts in all cinema from one of me favourite films of all time
Ooo, I just read that this is coming out on dvd on April 3 for the US!
I Love this Tune! RIP Peter Cook
Yes, I finally found the studio versions for both of these songs.
Stephen Fry said it best - "Peter Cook was the funniest man who ever drew breath."
I love this... thanks for posting it!
Saw this last night. I noticed in the opening credits that the music was by Dudley Moore. Pretty cool..
to be fair to Reed, he was already doing his thing by the time the movie was released.
All the same, it's signature Cook genius.
you drive me wild! you fill me with inertia
Ahhhhhh You fill me with inertia, also used by Lords Of the new church in Bad Timing, another great tune !
MORE! WE WANT MORE!!
The soundtrack to this film is brill! Dudley Moore Trio rule O.K.! Has it been reissued yet I wonder?!
You know you're right! It's got this "Astrononmie Domine" feel to it!
Peter Cook is smashing in this role, and I will never forget this song! Thanks, poster!
Dudley Moore was an EXCELLENT composer, which certainly takes more talent and effort than acting. He was a huge talent.
I've always wondered - when this film was first released, did Peter and Dudley possibly appear on an actual British TV music show and perform this, to promote the film? Because they should have.
Best love song ever! :))
Faust comes to Swinging London!
I'm self contained....just go away ! Don't you ever leave off ? The brilliant Peter Cook
Nobody Actually Expected the Song to be a Hit Record
But it became quite obvious it had more than just intrinsic value.
Best line, hands down!
"you fill me with inertia", "i'm self contained"
He reminds me of Syd Barrett also I Love this song.
wow look at those 60's effects on the tv!
The Vid 'The Dudley Moore Trio - Bedazzeled' shows Mr. Moore Playing the the chords close-up for those trying to learn them.
Nice.
This is also my fav from the movie, and I like Peter's part of this segment even better than Dudley's before this as well, but it is even funnier when contrasted with Dudley's bit, because he sings exactly the opposite (I need you, love me ...) ...
THIS IS SO FAB....DEV 1965
Oh Peter... how we miss you x
They have yet to release a Region 1 DVD, but if you've got an all-region DVD player, you can pick up the R2 version.
Also, you gotta love how George Spiggott never blinks throughout the entire film. Brilliant.
johnny rotten based his whole persona from watching peter cooks delivery in this small clip.
winnie
I love it.
¤ melodious music 🎶
¤ cool cold comedy 🎤
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life ... the remake didn't come close to measuring up, but that's true of most remakes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was gonna say the same thing! I was thinking more like early Human League! This is one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie!
my favorite song
peter cook's disinterest drives me crazyyy
I would love to hear the b-side of “Bedazzled” from the 45 from Drimble Wedge and the Vegetation!
“Bedazzled” is def in the running for best fake band song from movies/tv.
I was a dancer in that scene. And I had the best looking partner on the set, or so she told me!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I haven't laughed this much at a song before
Best movie ever.
Call any vegetable you'd like, Pete
What a great song. Lead voice answering the chorus. Brilliant and WAY before Queen (Freddie Mercury) mastered it.
Brilliant movie!!! Well written, acted and directed.
If you like this, check out Cook and Moore on SNL.
True it is a shame I seen the remake first not realizing the original existed , I was young and crazy
Yes, nice chords, but dig the crazy beat man. Savage. Goes rather nicely with a cocktail in one hand an almost anything else in the other, wouldn’t you say. A little Mitch-like.
class line..
"You fill me with inertia".
When Peter says that, he looks like he just wants to hit them.
:D
no se pero es un tema tan psicodelico me agrada tanto apresencia de peter que en verdad esta muy lindo en esas toma y la de dudley que enverdad son una dupla genial
HA-HA-HA!! His face! I'm self contained! Cool it! I'm not available! The BEST!!!!
Credit where it's due, TheRealCritique, the attitude and the words are all Cook, but the music was composed and arranged by Dudley Moore.
I Love this' it's my favourite part of the film.
The only good part of the remake was the rock star bit & they cut that out !
Thank you, thank you, thank you again x x x
ha ha ha to o funny my favorite scene in all of moviedom
Cook and Moore at the zenith of their comedy partnership here. Derek and Clive was brilliantly funny but in many ways charted the end of the Cook and Moore collaboration.
the dancing is brilliant...want the lyrics
This was a brilliant film, I believe Dudley Moore wrote most of the music for it. The remake was such a disappointment. Hollywood just didn't seem to get it.
yes but it was like peter cook's sister and another guy sold his soul to her
JazzKeyboardist1 I think given the age difference, she would have to be his daughter. Which would make her the "antichristine ?" Though "Lucifer's Sister" sounds like a good name for an all girl deathmetal band xD
***** good one, but I meant my devil/peter cook has been around since Eve was blowing Adam some raspberry's ,

They never do...
"Just go away"
this is a great movie...hahaha
I don't want you, I don't need you, I don't love you, leave me alone...
Yes a couple of years ago
Sandy sarjeant definitely credited as a dancer in this movie
Just like the devil 🤔🙄 he doesnt need any body , 😂😂😂😂 great part of the movie i have it on dvd
