OLD TOURIST KEROSENE STOVE RESTORATION (1980)

Restoration of rusty and old kerosene stove.
The model was called the Optimus 8R ("Hunter") and was used mainly in the cold Scandinavian winter by hunters. The burner was also appreciated by tourists who threw out everything except the burner itself with a tank. The weight in this case was only 305 grams !!! Sehr schön! Was allerdings fehlt ist die Benzingas/Luft-Mischkammer (ein glockenförmiges Teil mit 4 ovalen Löchern an der Seite) und der Flammenverteiler (kreisförmiges Blech oben auf der Mischkammer). Im Röhrchen vom Tank zum Kraftstoffventil ist noch ein Docht, um den anfänglichen Brennstoffzufluss zu ermöglichen und zu begrenzen.

Trata de conseguir la pieza principal del quemador, de lo contrario no sirve la estufa y utiliza gasolina blanca, la gasolina normal es mala para este tipo de estufas por la cantidad de plomo y adictivos que contine ya que produce carbón dentro del generador y esto es un problema difícil de solucionar, la aguja de limpieza tiene una forma específica de armado en conjunto con la válvula de cierre, de lo contrario puede quedar abierta y tirar combustible cuando no la utilices, para armar primero mete la válvula de cierre después introducen la aguja en su posición y gira la perilla como si fuese abrír para que salga el combustible sentirás como si la aguja saliera en lugar de entrar y hará un pequeño brinco la aguja cada vez que Salta en el engrane de deja que salte durante 3 escalones del engrane y entonces gira la perilla como si fuese a cerrar entonces estará correctamente en su lugar y bien armada por último pon la esprea y listo, te comento esto por qué si tú aguja está mal armada corres el riesgo de romperla al cerrar la válvula, saludos amigo desde México, tengo una colección de estufas de este típo y por eso justamente te comento como funciona un abrazo y espero que logres conseguir la pieza que te falta

Where is the wick that goes in the throttle tube from the tank?? also where is the bell and flame spreader? and it could do with a new jet along with a new pip in the pressure release cap. Sorry but it comes across, bodge it and sell it as incomplete, no bell, no wick in vaporising tube, and no graphite packing washer in throttle tube and no flame spreader.

OH my God... worst restoration ever seen!!! Where is the top burner? Where is new tank gasket? Why you damage brass elements with grinder? You scratch the silver tank with unproperly take off the shield. And the green colour is totally out off original...
